As Krusader noted, go ahead and delete map.rwm before doing anything else - then tell us if that changed the results.

Keep in mind that my directory is undoubtedly different than yours
deleted the map.rwm
and i still got no skeleton fs_gladius
did it not remove too many files just 50 mb difference between RTW 1.5 and EB 0.81a:dizzy2:
Glad to see this one out, will be installed as soon as possible. Does the hotfix include Cunctator's mod? And if not, is said mod compatible with .81a?
yep thats the same as mine
if you guys dont mind - im just going to stand in the corner and start crying now
boooo hooooo :embarassed:
If i unistall eb totally and reinstall it - will I still be able to play 0.81 or will it need a clean RTW 1.5
I get the same error with the camel. The only descr_mount file I can find is in the vanilla data folder though. That hasn't changed in the patch has it? As a side note, deleting that file leads to another error saying that saba is an invalid owner in another descr file.
Just installed the hotfix over prevoius 0.81 build, works like a charm. Using the BI method too so even with added complications, no problems. Thanks EB!
Was hoping it wasn't the new map.rwm. Glad to see it isn't. It only removes files from a temporary directory after installing, not from the RTW directory. My v.81c noted above has roughly 3.7GB, while the vanilla RTW 1.5 has roughly 2.4GB. So you are missing a LOT of files....in fact, it's apparent that the hotfix is sitting alone atop a 1.5 install.Quote:

For those having problems, i don't know why. But if you can install RTW, patch it up to v1.5, and then download and install the Full-up v.81a (it has EVERY EB file and doesn't need patches or hotfixes or anything), that should work.Quote:

Speaking of which, hopefully nobody is installing the Hotfix in the RTW/EB folder, yes?
How did you managed it to run EB 0.81a with bi.exe wonderland? Which method did you use?Quote:

thanks for the help anyway i really appr. your assistance
Reinstalled 0.81 works like a charm. Then the same error after applying the hotfix
1) So you reinstalled v.81 and loaded a game and it worked?Quote:

3) What directory is this file sitting in? (Europa Barbarorum v081a.rtf)
4) Did you use the same shortcut to launch both games?
1) yes
2) Yes, the error shows during the starting screen
3) In the RTW root with the exes, not the EB folder
4) The same shortcut
Am busy trying the Full Install. You can simply dump that one onto your previous EB install - as it will remove older EB files before installing the new ones. So, let me get back to you later or try the Full Install yourself. (The FTP server does an outstanding job with about 160kb/s transfer rate. :2thumbsup: )
Double-never mind - just try the full install on top of a clean 1.5 buildQuote:

A parallel install of a clean v0.81 patched to v0.81a refuses to work however.
My advice to everyone: GET THE FULL PATCH - it's worth the wait
I edited above, but it's the d:\...\Rome - Total War (I just have it named "RTW - EB" to always have an unchanged vanilla installed as well)
Yes I installed it right too and got the errors, (installing the hotfix does put the readme in the folder with the exe right?)
Bah, there goes my plan to test the new patch before bed. On the other hand I have something to look forward to when I wake up :)Quote:

Yes. The only thing I can think of is that some of you guys are getting corrupted downloads. You try and download the hotfix again (it's very small) and try that. I'll see about getting a link to the zip file we used to create the installer. That's faster than a full-up installation download.Quote:

Btw, for those having problems, just try installing the hotfix to a folder of it's own, say on the desktop. Install the files, then manually drag them to the RTW folder where EB is installed. That's what I did.
For those of you who can't seem to get the Hotfix file to work, here is the link to the zip file we used for the last internal build. It has all the same files (except the Readme), and so I'd be interested if this somehow works for you. The file is designed to be installed into the RTW Root directory (i.e the one above "EB") and will automatically place all files in the correct folders.
WARNING - If you are a zip file noob and the above information is unclear and you need explicit handholding, don't even try this. Just get the Full V.81a Installation (@ 370MB) and install it on a clean RTW 1.5 build.
NOTE: Anybody who can't get the hotfix to work. If the above method DOES work, please let us know. Also, if it DOESN'T work, please report that (and whether the error message changed)
Thanks for posting that the installer works. I'd be completely insane if somebody hadn't shown up with a success story! :2thumbsup:Quote:
