He started at 6 stars when he turned 16. I was surprised to see my viking princes starting with 5+ stars, so I tried to see the highest that could be seen. I haven't seen mor than 6 stars for a beginner, and 5 for a "normal" unit built in a province.
Re: Youngest 10* General?
You've obviously never played as the Byzantines then. The Comnenus royal family produces some truly scary Jedi princes. ~
Re: Youngest 10* General?
Finally got one in BI today, age 62 Faction Leader of the Franks. :laugh4:

You're right. I've only played viking campaigns since I resumed gaming with TW, and have not many memories of the time when I played in... 2003?
I just started a brand new normal campaign, with the french, early, normal, to get warmed up. I'll definitely have to work on the tech tree... And the map!
I'll keep an eye on those heavy armored byzantines then! :beam:

As you should. When you see an 8-star prince leading his personal regiment of Kataphractoi, you know you're in for a *very* tough fight.
My suggestion? Kill him with crossbows/arbelests -- and lots of 'em!

I was wondering though, what is the youngest ten star general you have had/seen? My youngest was 29/30, he came from a huge city with a good academy and started off with 5 stars. I just sent him out to conquer Spain and Gaul.
Another question, if your generals beat, say, a Gaulish army of 800 men and a Brutii army of 800 men woud one boost his command ability more?
Thanks!:2thumbsup:
For RTW I don't recall ever getting a 10 star general, but in Medieval Total War I would towards the end of the game begin getting 7-star+ generals at birth, who would of course get to 10 star younger than someone who started at 1. I think if the soldiers of one army you defeat are better in quality it effects the odds, which would effect general experience, in theory.
Re: Youngest 10* General?
I remember i had an 9 star 25 years old general, i was under constant attacks from the Gauls and the Germans but my general and the small garrison were able to hold them of even when outmatched 5 to 1.
Re: Youngest 10* General?
I found this 21 year old quite impressive.

Isn't 9 star: At the sound of this man's voice armies march and mighty nations quake or somehthing like that?
In my Julii campaign I've had Decius Julius at 10 star on defence for a LONG time natural command for 3 + strategist for 3 + good (or great?)defender for 3 and a merc captian for 1.

I'm sorry to say that I disagree Stuperman. I must confess that I copied and pasted the text straight out of the .txt files - I was a little sluggish at that time. Sorry.
Re: Youngest 10* General?
ok, I am 99% sure that there is one the says something about mighty nations quaking

Dear Martok, I think that this inevitable confrontation is near, I've taken Spanish, Danish, English and HREish territories under the command of my good king, all western Europe and Maghreb are now french. Meanwhile, the Byzantines seems to have taken more space On their north and west border, being probably the second most important empire now.
And I don't have arbalests yet. I'm redecovering the vanilla game, I focused on cavalry...
This campaign gave me a small groupe of 4-5 very good 6-7 stars generals. Perfect if you need to lead an invasion!
I also started a campaign in RTW, I got an 8 stars general, but he was quite old...
