Sometimes people need to look at the most obvious answer, that is that alcohol here can be read as heavy, regular drinking, that is most in line with the results, rather than trying to take the most outrageous idea, that occasional, light drinking is what it should be read as and then claiming that the study is flawed.
Actually, I've just read the study in more detail. On their explanations and their statistics, I can see the reasons why alcohol is rated so high. I'm not saying I agree with it, but their is a legitimate way that they came to their conclusions.
Attack the methodology if you want, it's not my study, but don't give anecdotes that obviously are not what the study is reffering to, or could be explained through the methodology, then claim the study is flawed after two lines of fluff.
I would have thought an attack on the methadology was implicit in my post. Im sorry if you read that as serious. The fact that I can ask that question at all indicates the study is fatally flawed, however.
Lemur's study is better but even if Cocane is less lethal relative to effectiveness it causes permenant damage every time you use it which can rapidly add up to a very early heart attack, alchohol takes decades to achieve the same even at higher doses.

I'm so happy alcohol and tobacco are socially acceptable.
When I was into the deep ****, people condemned, but now they will have a smoke and a drink with me!

Red grapes do the same...it's not the wine that's good for you.

Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that red wine is good against cholesterol.~;)

You could mix the red-grape chemical with arsenic and it would be good for your cholesterol ~;)
