x1650Pro is a little better than the 7600GS. The 7600GT beats both of them by a fair margin though. The 7600GT is real close if not sometimes better than a 7800GS though. The 7600GT is just a little bit better than the x850XT. The 7600GT is just a bit better than a 6800Ultra. That kind of puts them in perspective where they all fall as for rankings. :yes:

I just threw my new bits together and for some reason I'm getting nothing from the graphics card (the antiquated 9600XT from my old system). I'm getting no signal. Every time I power up, the GPU fan works for about 10 seconds then stops
I have put the card back in my old system and it's working fine. Any suggestions?
What system did you put the 9600XT into?
ECS KV2 Lite, San Diego 3700+, 1 Gb crucial PC3200. I sorted my problem out BlackAxe, the 4 pin power connector wasn't seated properly Reseated it and it was fine. Until... I reformatted and installed XP Home but the PC now will only run for a minute or two before it bums out. It just dies like I hit the reset button, but it doesn't boot up again. It just hangs like it's waiting for the POST mostly. But it's other favourite is to just hang with lines on the screen.
I checked the Processor temp, it's fine at 32C ( Ihaven't set a cut out temp anyway). So I'm stumped, annoyed, disappointed and lots of other words that end in -ed.
I'm thinking PSU or motherboard, but I'd appreciate any help.

After much more messing around, it seems that the system is stable while doing certain things, but not others. It was OK for an hour formatting and installing XP, but not doing most other things. Interestingly it was happy to install and play M2TW until I went to a battle, it's got to be software I guess.
I suppose I'll just reformat and reinstall again, you never know...

I think you can do a little better but thats a matter of opinion. Are you going for dual graphics cards? Because thats the only reason I can see to pick that mobo. If I were you Id go with just a single. I think I did quite a bit of research before I had this current pc just built for me. Lets compare mine and the one you posted and see what you think.Quote:

I'm building this computer on a budget...I really don't want it much over $1500 if possible. It's meant mainly for gaming, music, and internet (of course), and I'm trying to keep it cheap. This was the best gaming-dedicated website I could find so far.

I thought you were going to build it yourself? This is the price for an already built system no? Im sure you could get those parts for less than that seperately.
Dont you guys have local computer shops around there with Geeks who will build any pc you want and will order any part you want? Best thing is to make a budget and then try to find the best parts for what you want to do. Dont take any packages as theres usually something in there that isnt up to snuff. Again if you can build it yourslef why pay to have it built by someone else with parts you may not want?
I don't have the expertise to build it myself, and I'm not in an area big enough to have a local shop do it for me. The closest place where I can get that done is not exactly a short drive away.

Well I gave you the precise list of what I have and where to get it and for how much. Remember its under 1400 and that includes a 22 inch $350 monitor. All the stuff in the tower comes to about $1000. Like I said I did a lot of research before choosing those parts. I have absolutely no complaints about this pc.
