Well, my guess is someone cut himself with an axe, sued the manufacturer because there wasn't a safety catch (or a label on the axe saying that you should not cut yourself with it) and (off course) won the lawsuit.

Speaking of folding knives, I bought one of these for my the guy I work with.
He was carying a made a Made in Nowhere El Cheapo knife and it drove me nuts, so I got him a good one. This is, without a doubt, the sharpest knife I have ever seen. Scary sharp. (And it was on sale.)
