Re: Google plans comprehensive personal databases
On April 20, 2007, three consumer privacy organizations, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), the Center for Digital Democracy (CDD), and the US Public Interest Research Group (US PIRG), filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), urging the Commission to open an investigation into Google's proposed acquisition of DoubleClick, specifically with regard to the ability of Google to record, analyze, track, and profile the activities of Internet users with data that is both personally identifiable and data that is not personally identifiable.
