Re: Live Earth - Worldwide Concerts
Had several good bands at each different country/city stage. Caught several of them and watched them with a friend most of the day. I do agree the live webcast was way too lagged. Luckily we have satellite television and caught the show on that instead of the net.
Tschüß!

My concert highlights were Silbermond (a suprisingly good show from them), Metallica, RHCP, and the Foo Fighters, to name a few.
But Bon Jovi and Lenny Kravitz! Amazing. :2thumbsup:

You mean like the people who watched left a lot of plastic on the ground when they went away? I'd say most people cared more about the music than the message, as usual.

Actually, they used used materials to make the stages and also those florescent light bulbs for all the lights. The wood were all being reused and tbh, it wasn't very hypocritical of anything. Seriously, they must have said that 80 times during the whole thing lol. I think it was impressive the amount of effort put into the whole thing.
Still they gave us anoter 250,000 tons of pollution (according to some people). If that could have been saved we would have far less to worry about.
Re: Live Earth - Worldwide Concerts
The Artic Monkeys commented: "It takes about the same amount of energy to light a stage for a single performance than an average british household uses per year". And also "we're rockstars, we fly around constantly, it would be highly hypocricitical to participate" or something like that.
I bet those thousands of people who came to see the shows all drove their bikes...
This is hypocrisy, pure and simple.
Re: Live Earth - Worldwide Concerts
Enrique Iglesias was nice, Rihanna sucked completely, Linkin Park were acceptable, RHCP was nice too...
Overall, a good initiative.
Re: Live Earth - Worldwide Concerts
Just watched parts of the Sydney concert again and I must say it was the best of the bunch. Watch it, especially the Crowded House part if you have the opportunity. :2thumbsup:
