I believe its the smell of feces. Before I get a warning or my brilliant post gets deleted, hear me out....Quote:

This is my theory of why so many homosexual men use a public restroom for their meeting places. That's why I'm coming out with a new aftershave for men. Its called "Dump for Men". It will have the smell of the 7th train Subway station in NY. I will also have "Dump Midwest". This product will be for the midwest discreet gay man and will have the slight hint of corn from undigested corn found within only the best quality feces we can obtain. I'm going to send a bottle to this Senator as a gift. I've always believed in making lemons out of lemonaid and I beleive we should all strive to do the same with this situation. I'm also in the planing stage for a bathroom internet cafe were you can have online sex chat with others of your persuation. I'm going to be the greatest homosexually based capitalist ever!!!!
PS I've also designed a Bumper sticker for Senator Craig and other sexually supressed Senators in the Republican party, it says, "Just because i suck ####, doesn't mean I'm gay!!!".
I'm gonna make a "butt-load" of money baby!!!!
I feel sorry for the man, and for his family.
The lies you tell to yourself are almost always the ones that will do the most damage. Which does not prevent the vast majority of us from lying to ourselves with some frequency.
Abe Lincoln's rule about the electorate will eventually catch up with him.
Other than that, I think the Lemury one is on track (which he is a goodly percentage of the time). The real goal here is to pillory the GOP as the party of hypocrisy using Craig as the exemplar. Well-managed, this could drag out for 3-4 months and be one of the things voters have in mind when they vote -- almost en masse -- in the 2/5 primaries. If the social conservatives stay home, disgusted with the GOP; or vote only for the "pure" fringe GOP candidates, then the Dems get what they want: Guliani as the nominee, but with a GOP base that is thoroughly non-plussed with him.
Just so you know, Larry Craig is not gay. It's just a bit unfortunate that he began his press conference by saying, "Thank you all very much for coming out today."
-edit-
This all puts me in mind of an infamous Onion article. Not safe for work, contains crude language, may be upsetting to pregnant women and impressionable children, do not read while driving. But very funny, and apropos.
Did you notice that the Senator emphisied the words "coming out" when he spoke? Maybe he's wanting an orgy with the press corpe now.:laugh4:
And is it just me, or does he sound kind of admiring in this old MSNBC clip?
Craig: Well, I don’t know where the Senate’s going to be on that issue of an up or down vote on impeachment, but I will tell you that the Senate certainly can bring about a censure resolution and it’s a slap on the wrist. It’s a, bad boy, Bill Clinton. You’re a naughty boy. The American people already know that Bill Clinton is a bad boy, a naughty boy.
I’m going to speak out for the citizens of my state, who in the majority think that Bill Clinton is probably even a nasty, bad, naughty boy.
And what do we do with nasty, bad, naughty boys? We spank them, oh yes we do ...
Sounds like the Honorable Senator from Idaho wants to play the cigar trick with Slick Willey. I wonder if he's insist on wearing the blue dress?Quote:

Personally, I'm glad that they're going to spend their time investigating the "serious matter" of whether to not he's gay or not. Honestly, can you imagine a better use of the Senate's time? :dizzy2:Quote:

Dragging him in front of the ethics comittee and censuring him, for being gay, is going to seriously hurt their chances at gaining any middle ground.
Exactly, Don. :yes:Quote:

(a group that I believe is both overestimated and completely misunderstood by most politicians)
I predict the "is he gay?" investigation will be a political loser for Republicans if they decide to proceed with it.
I'm a little confussed though. I'm watching CNN right now at work and they are all over this story and making this guy out to be the worst person ever. I always thought that sodomy was a sacred act in the minds of most liberals, so why is the liberal media so up in arms about this. I would have figured they would have given this man a ticker tape parade for what he does in public bathrooms. And another thing, why isn't Barney Frank coming to a fellow homosexual politicians defense on his god given right to wallow in the pits of self depravaty? How much longer must the homosexual men of this world be held down?
Let me put this in terms you can relate to:Quote:

Should the NRA now embrace Senator X? Should the Republican party make him its mascot?
-edit-
Also note that the dreaded LIBERAL MEDIA is just covering the story. The attempts to get the man thrown out of office are coming from his own party. Dems have every reason to want him to stay until his reelection.
2 points...Quote:

Would that be like how John Edwards tells everyone should get rid of their SUV's and he owns two? Or would that be like Al Gore flying around the world in a jet that uses more gas than anyone uses in their lifetime or when he lives in a house that uses more electricity in a month than most use in 10 years. Or would that be like when William Jefferson got caught with $90,000 in his freezer and nothing was done by the democratic leadership (Nancy Pelosi after she has stated that they would have the least curropt government ever)? Or would that be like the democrats always saying they support the troops but at the same time are trying to find ways to defund them and giving the enemy propoganda that would make Joseph Geobbels get a boner? But you're right, their is no double standard, appearantly only republicans should resign and the media should only try to get republicans to resign when thier is a scandal.Quote:

They're after the double morals. Anyone after him because he's gay is certainly NOT a liberal. That would go against the meaning of liberalism.Quote:

"Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, Chef's attorney would certainly want you to believe that his client wrote 'Stinky Britches' ten years ago. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself! But, ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!
"Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, [approaches and softens] does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests."
OK you're right Lemur, the media would definitely act the same if this was a democrat. IN fact, it is silly of me to ever think that there is no double standard. I've been wrong all along and your always so right. Don't forget to heal the lepers while taking a stroll across the lake today.
there´s another litty bitty difference also....Quote:

they are both hypocrites, but one just gets the people more pissed off than the other....that´s not liberal bias...that´s just the way people are...and the media reflects that.
And the media reflects the which people are? Appearantly the way yourself and many others on this forum are. So there is really no reason for me to even try to input my opinion on this matter since your minds are not only made up but it is also backed up by the media. Oh well.. No need to lock it on the account of little ol' me. That would be to , shall we say, "Rovian" of you, Mr Fair and Balanced Moderator.:beam:
Why do we even reply to DD? Honestly, I don't know why I even do it. But I'm a bit of a hot head. Lemur, I would have thought you were above it...
Oh well. Dave has managed to derail yet another thread with one of his stock, mindless, tinfoil-hat rants about liberalsodomitejournalists.
*sigh*
And we all let him do it.
:shame:
You need to trademark that one. :laugh4:Quote:

So no, this thread is far from derailed and you guys should just do a better job debating your points. :2thumbsup:
According to this thread, I'd say "Republican" is enough... :laugh4:Quote:
