Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
You realize I put over 20 hours a week into my playing of EB and then did screenshots, stories, and friggin movies!! I know people appreciate it and realized only 4% of viewers left a comment...4%!! But those 4% are near and dear to my heart because I somehow affected them. If this was real life those 4% would be hanging out at the pub with me :) You have affected us. So dont worry about it. Im actually enjoying a break from writing, and enjoying reading other contributions. So close your eyes, put youself in Baktria, and let the words flow through your fingers and out into cyberspace.

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Hmmm, I guess you are right about the % thing.
Perhaps I was a little disheartened when no one left any comments after 18 hours. I do know that most people are lurkers.
After thinking about it further, perhaps I over-reacted initially.
What the hell, I'll keep it going. For shits and giggles. :)

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Yes listen to the God of Bards and continue to bless us with your wonderful AAR.
-
Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Yes, please continue! I have really enjoyed your AAR so far. Just didn't want to clutter it with messages  I am a classical lurker, haven't commented any AARs so far, but this really demanded some kind of response! I check this for updates almost every day... :embarassed:

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Thanks for the encouragement....yes, now that I know at least 4 or 5 are enjoying it, I'll be happy to continue.
I was just thinking that if no one liked this one, perhaps I would try a more "relaxed" approach of writing with a different faction. I like history textbooks, but I'm also an enormous geek, so I wasn't too sure about most others.
But, if a few get enjoyment, and my writing in this aar isn't too "rigid", then I'll go forth.
Did I mention that I'm an enormous geek? :P
That being said, I wouldn't expect an enormously long aar with these guys, as I have yet to win with Baktria. If I can make it to chapter 4 i.e. the 4th ruler, I'll be happy enough. :)

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Good story, keep up !
I love to play bactrian, because you can secure your back early in the game and play then on a limited front only.
And because they get access to a huge variety of colourful troops !

Better that then salty drinks and free women, or what?

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
I told you I meant to congratulate you on your 10th chapter... Now get to it.
Don't worry about anything rather than your own mood.
As the saying goes..."If you build it they will come."

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Keep 'em comin. I'd love it if I could be around to read a great AAR but school does tend to get in the way. I'll be trying to keep up, and most likely mornings like this one will give me the time to read, no school til noon, girlfriend at school... ah... the freedom of being alone.
All things aside though, I think this AAR has some great potential so keep at. I'll be following it and of course greatly appreciate the work that anyone puts into an AAR. I know I wouldn't have the patience to do it.
Now, lets all head to the tavern, have a round(preferably a shot of vodka) and get to telling epic stories of great generals and fantastic battles!

I know I said update yesterday, but real life rears it's ugly head from time to time. I have been working on it in my spare time, and it should be up today.
Missed that one...
Chapter=Kefalaion
Chapter 1 = Kefalaion 1
Is this what you had in mind?

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Yes, and help with the actual name of the chapter....like the reign of diodotus I. I'm also fairly clueless when it comes to accessing the greek alphabet on my keyboard. I thought I heard it was a simple font change, but I'm not sure which one (or if it's really that simple.
Thanks for the chapter 1 part though....hmmm, I wonder if it would look silly to have Kefalaion 1: Theodotus, mille urbium bactrianum praefectus. :beam:

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Hi, i just made an account to tell you how much i appreciate your and other people's work to create such wonderful AAR stories. Keep up the spirits and the good work.

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
Thanks schlappi.
The last part should be up in the next few days....late at night is usually the only time I have peace and quiet to write.

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
i just want to say that you should definitely keep writing, people porbably are just dealing with going abck to school, university in my case, and I'm still balancing my schedules. I like the history book style alot, especially if oyu don't try to just follow history, but go how the game takes you.

Re: Opulentissimum Illud Mille Urbium Bactrianum Imperium : A Baktrian AAR
This aar is still alive....I've just been busy with work and I also received M2:TW as an early birthday present, so I've been screwing around with the Venetian campaign.
After playing M2:TW with everything on high (thanks to my new video card :2thumbsup:), it's hard to go back to Rome to be honest. The battlefield graphics in M2:TW are amazing, and the sound effects are much more intense than R:TW.
In short, I can't wait for EB2, but I will be continuing this campaign shortly.
It looked like this aar was going to be very short for a few years, but a delightful surprise may have extended the life of the Baktrian Empire....I won't give away any more details, but look for an update within the next few days.

This is fine AAR. This from a lurker perspective.
M2TW has some awesome animations and graphics. But EB has something it dosen't have. Content and authenticity.
Granted EB 2 will look a lot better than EB 1. But with the next release. And all the goodies in store. I seriously doubt you will waste much time on M2TW.
Keep up the AAR. We lurkers need them.

I hope this AAR continues. Otherwise the Counsil Of Lurkers would be very angry:2thumbsup:
Now... make great story:whip: The Counsil demands it.

Seriously though, great aar Bootsiuv, really looking forward to the next installment, keep it up.
