wow the PC version sounds a lot worse than the console version. The MP on that is the best of any game out there. Now I could write a counter argument to all your points but I can't be bothered as I enjoy the game and play it with people I know so it's your loss if you don't enjoy it.
Anyway who plays multiplayer games a fair bit knows punkbuster is ****. The only reason games still use it is because of companies being too lazy too code their own anticheat stuff.
That 'death from above' mission was worth all the $ alone. I really felt like I sat in that plane and dustified those enemies. ~D
A good cinematic game and excellent graphics. Storyline is weird.
Summed up I can't say anything but that I love this game. That execution in the opening seqeunces is pretty cool. ~D
I'll give a try at the MP once I'm done with SP.
It's an Xbox 360 game ported, through and through. Single player has a single truly awesome mission, a couple of cool cutscenes, and gameplay that is otherwise completely uninspired.
Multiplayer has some signifigant frustrations built in from the ground up, and is clearly intended for Xbox360 play, with no more then 16 or so players, all with crippled gamepad aim.
It can be fun, but best stay away from anything with more the 20 players absolute tops, and even then expect frustration. It has ridiculously overpowered grenade launchers, and martyrdom, which really really needed to have a fuse on the grenade twice as long as it actually is.]

I love MP, it's is where it's at. Hardcore servers <20 players are great but I play all of them, I don't care about slot limit. I know it isn't realistic, and I'm enjoying the arcade play. I love hardcore servers, they are really fun, and more to my gaming speed, since I used to play AA vet. If you want slower MP go for America's Army.

The MP isn't realistic, and is horribly overcrowded on PC, but i love it - nothing better than running around in the chaos panicking with your team-mates, only for you all to get mown down after some stray bullets plow through the wooden fence you're all hiding behind.

Any one completed "Mile High Club" On vetren dificulty to get the acheivment.
I spent 2 hours and by the end of it I was violantly shaking. And to make getting past the guy worse taking the shot on that guy. I think I almost had a heart attak. It was however a great gaming moment a throughly worth it.
As for MP well im not sure yet. It's incredibly frustrating that martydom thing is ridiculous but im glad I got it for 360 as words arn't so sweet out on the pc versions.
I've never had any issues with martyrdom, fact I find it's too slow. Last stand is funny ! HAHHAHA !!! LOL! The guy lying there LMFAO !! waiting to get headshotted. LOL!

While on a rant, the map "shipment" (or whatever it is called) is simply pointless. Generally the maps could've been larger, I never play on servers with more than 20 players (like I did in CoD 2).
The ranking system, though, is pretty sweet, and I cannot wait for the tiger camouflage for my M4. ~D
Level 30 now and counting.
To be honest I have no issues with any of the perks or weapons or anything... It is simply that the maps do not scale to populations you get on most PC servers... they are clearly designed for 16 or less and yet may PC servers have populations of around 50... Which is really good fun on the largest of the maps and a chaotic nightmare on the smallest...
Personally I have more of an issue with the x3 frag grenades perk than I do with Martyrdom as it just adds to the nade spamming (which is also worsened by the small scale of many of the maps)...
Shipment really is not to bad if you are on 16 players or less... The first to bring in a chopper will really dominate...
Put simply, CoD4 needs more of the bigger maps IMHO...
I think I've never been killed by martodumb.
My two tips would be:
A) Get clear of the body asap after the kill
B) When you see a body don't go near it for at least a few seconds.
B should really be instinctive, because of another reason. If there is a dead guy lying there, it's because somebody shot him. His attacker/s might still be around. Always scope out the joint before moving (particularly useful on hardcore servers).
I guess because of America's Army I could never play this game "seriously", hence I even enjoy the nade spam. It's freaking hilarious. It is a pain to get killed by it ofc! I love that Middle East map where you are looking down that long street. If you're sniper on that map, you often see guys running round spamming nades. LOL! It's a riot to shoot them them down, specially on friendly fire servers. Kill one and his nade probably kills a few others. BUAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAH !!!!

I hope it is better than COD2 and its Multiplayer is good.
(I heard that there is no vehicle to take in MP. Is that true? )
You can order an airstrike after 5 kills and no death at the position you like, and after 7 kills and still no death you can call in an AI controlled helicopter. Cars on the maps can be blown up, and that's about it.
Hmm on 360 the maximum players per match is 16 IIRC (edit: 18 actually) and you have to search for a specific type of game to get that. I usually play on 6 player games for a lot more fun, it really does seem that the PC version is a hell of a lot worse and that is what I thought and hence why I bought the 360 version.
Anyone still playing CoD4 over here?
I do but on the computer when ever i get the chance, but my computer seems to be dieing so... not as much lately.
