Thanks for the advice Atraphoenix. Never played Pahlava before but I'm excited to try!
O.K. friends, this is what I have done as a personal modification of the Atraphoenix´s mod (see here)
- I have added +1 Management to Roman provincial governors.
- Legates now gain +1 Command and +2 Influence (Instead of +1 Morale, +1 Management and +2 Influence).
- I have 25 named legionary banners (to have more seems superfluous to me)
- There will be regions-to-legions ratio 3-to-1 (up to 73 provinces, after that no new legionary banners will be generated).
- As I expect frequent transfers of legionary banners, its acquisistion no longer affects the ability of the original owner to gain further ancillaries (deleted the "Affects NumAncillariesAcquired 1 Chance 100" effect).
- The triggers now look like this:
What remains to be done:Code:Trigger acquire_Legatus_of_legioI
WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
Condition FactionType seleucid
and not EndedInSettlement
and IsGeneral
and PercentageUnitCategory infantry > 80
and Attribute Electability < 11
and Trait FamilyMember > 0
and Trait notMilitaryTribune > 0
and not FactionwideAncillaryExists Legatus_of_legioI
AcquireAncillary Legatus_of_legioI Chance 100
- to test whether it actually works as intended (sorry, I have barely the time to code it rather hastily and I was unable to test it yet.)
- to add historical descriptions to "export_ancillaries.txt"which would describe the history of the real bearers of the legion´s names (Such as "Historically the name Ferrata (The Iron One) belonged to the Famous Caesar´s Sixth Legion, raised in 65 BC, which served with him in Gaul.... - you´ve got the idea).
- to add conditions for "geographically-named" legions (like Hispanica) to verify that the player actually holds at least a part of said region (here at least on of the cities in Pyrennean Penninsula).
You are free to use it as you wish, for instance as a basis for your own modifications/further improvements, if you find it of any value.
I will now be for some time unavailable, so I cannot unfortunately participate in it any more (temporarily).:embarassed:
All credits belong to Atrahoenix, who came with the whole idea and who has done the vast majority of work, to which I have only added a few tweaks according to my personal taste. All faults and possible bugs are of course completely my own.
To make condition as "to have at least one settlement" is quite complicated - if it is required to have 1 out of 3 settlements then it must be created: 3 Ancillaries and 3 sets of conditions (see the variants of governors).
IMHO the liknage should be done to 1 specific city, usually the capitol of a province.
Thus "Hispana" = "Emporion", etc.
You´re right, my idea was precisely to use similar concept as in the case of province governors.
To tie it to a "capital" or from a game-play point of view the most plausible first city (as Emporion for Hispania) is probably the most reasonable way, though.:2thumbsup::yes:
OK, now the only thing is to search thru the files You've made and made a linkage of commanders to cities... (of course for the "later" legions...
Let's wait and see what the initial creator of the whole idea is going to think/say/do...
(I can arrange such linkage if needed)
Current Phase:
- 45 Legions of livius ~;) pre-augustan legions will be triggered without necessity of marian trait.
- 1 legion for 3 provinces namely so as to recruit all the legates you have to conquer 135 provinces.
- you have to conquer the intended certain city to levy the legates. and if possible the legates will be levied the the names of the legions namely like Legio IV Makedonika you must conquer Pella, and Legio I Italica you should need one italian city that I have not determined them yet.
- If I am lucky I will edit different ancillary images for each legion if not possible I will use my creativity.
If RS Team allows me I am planning to use their banners for augustan legion banners otherwise I have no idea at the moment. I hope ı do not have to use one common image for each.
- I may add legio praetoriani but I do not know EB team has a condition for augustan trait like marian
like "and Trait AugustanControl = 1 İf I add it just trigger it with augustan control is enough for me no 1 legion for 3 provinces rule for them.
- I must admit that I am so addict to them that I will not decrease the numbers of legions. If one day I or another person manages to adapt RS legions for EB my mod will be a nightmare to mod methinks :laugh4:
Unresolved topics:
- historical accuracy, methinks with the scope of my mod that are developed my mod will have some unhistorical accuracy sorry :sweatdrop: but I believe that when you press end turn button in the first turn AI always kills the historical accuracy, does not it? Pahlava besieges Asaak, Pyrus decimate makedonians together with KH.
- I use governor's palace to trigger the offices, I think I will use the same method. no gov1, gov2, or govparthian so as to integrate my module with other factions as well.
- OK , at the moment I coded ancillaries and am writing descriptions of the legions. If it takes too much time to get permission from RS team. I will release my next version with the same image file .
-----------
I hope one day I can unite the legates with their legions but at the moment modding EDU, EDB, and other files is not in the scope of my submod.
thanks for all for contributions.
Atra
Well, I don't think the number 45 is right - I rather suggest to stay at level 35 - BTW I wonder what oher legions have you added to the list?
With 45 legionary ancillaries you will have 45 FMs to be in command of a legion, and what about the governors? Unless the governors will have also Legio under command... and some Army Commanders will have 2 or 3 legions at the same time - yet what about other ancillaries?
I personally suggest - stay at 35 legions, as there are so many other ancillaries that are also badly needed in the field...
If you want the legates to be levied in specific cities you can use my list or I can make such a list and post it in the Forum (I made Italica to be levied in Etruria IIRC; Augusta in Rome etc.)
BTW: I still warn you from using numbers XVII, XVIII and XIX - they were cursed and the Romans knew what they do, when never used that numbers anymore... so let us also not do that...
Better use "Libyca" (with any number), XXX Classica (naval legion) and... well, maybe VI Hispana or VI Gallicana?
last changes : I finally found the map that showed me the Legion Bases
I did not count them but should be 30 less than my estimates 15 OMG lol :laugh4::
I think that is a fine number, I am still indecisive to add Pretorians in Rome or not if I add them it will be 31.
These are my list for 45 legions I could not find any map that all of them were deployed. Where is the missing 15 legions or this map is OK?

Tell me which legions are "missing" and I tell You where they've gone and when...
OK, some examples:
There was NO "Legio VII Hispana" => in 125 CE it is in fact Legio VII Gemina, which was created in 67-68 CE by Servius Sulpicius Galba, the governor of Hispania Tarraconensis, who wanted to seize the Imperial throne. The official date of the legion's founding was 10 June 68. Then it took part in the civil war that broke out after death of Nero (it was the time calle "a year of four emperors" - Galba, Otho, Vitelius and Vespasian). Until that time the "seventh" was without any official name, though sometimes it was called Galbiana and Hispana, but these were not official names.
Vespasian mixed this legion with soldiers of disbanded Legio I Germanica and named the Seventh with its official name "Legio VII Gemina" (as made of 2 legions). It served in Pannonia and Germania Superior, where it received an additional surname, Felix, 'lucky'. After four or five years, the unit was transferred back to Hispania Tarraconensis. Its new base was at León (a rendering of Legio), close to the gold and iron mines of Gallaecia.
Legio I Germanica in 125 CE was non-existent. It was partially destroyed in March-April 70 CE during the Batavian revolt in Germania Inferior. Remnants of this legion have been mixed with Legio VII (Galbiana/Hispana) to form new Legio VII Gemina.
Legio IV Flavia Felix is former Legio IV Macedonica which was also badly mauled during the Batavian revolt and was reformed under rule of Vespasian into Legio IV Flavia Felix.
The same was with Legio XVI Gallica, also badly mauled in Batavian revolt (at least part of this legion surrendered to rebels) and Vespasian reorganised it under new name: Legio XVI Flavia Firma.
[thus in my list there are: Legio IV Macedonica Flavia Felix and Legio XVI Gallica Flavia Firma, as these were in fact the same legions but reorganised and re-named].
Legio XV Primigenia was rather short-lived:
This legion was founded by the emperor Caligula in 39, who needed extra forces for his campaign in Germany. It was called after the favorite goddess of the emperor ('Primigenia' is a title of Fortuna), but the title was almost never used. It is absent from the inscriptions and is only rarely used by authors like Tacitus and Plutarch of Chaeronea. The number seems to have been suggested by the fact that it was supposed to share a base with XIV Gemina (at Mainz in Germania Superior). In 43, the emperor Claudius, who had succeeded Caligula in 41, invaded Britain and took some legions with him. This left vacancies, and XV Primigenia moved to Xanten in the northern province of Germania Inferior. At Xanten, the Fifteenth shared its legionary base with the Fifth legion Alaudae.
In 69 CE the Batavians felt offeneded because Galba had dismissed his Batavian bodyguard, and revolted. A Roman expeditionary force, consisting of the remains of V Alaudae and XV Primigenia, was defeated near Nijmegen, and in the Autumn of 69, these two legions found themselves besieged at Xanten and were forced to surrender in March 70.
It took several months before the new emperor Vespasian could send a strong Roman army to recover the Rhineland, commanded by his relative Quintus Petillius Cerialis. The legions XVI Gallica and IV Macedonica, which had guarded Mainz, were renamed (XVI Flavia Firma and IV Flavia Felix); the remains of I Germanica were added with Galba's Seventh legion and became known as VII Gemina ('the twin legion'). V Alaudae and XV Primigenia, however, were never reconstituted.
Thus in 125 CE there's no Legio V Alaudae, Legio XV Primigenia, Legio IV Macedonica, Legio XVI Gallica, Legio I Germanica.
There's also no Legio I Macriana Liberatrix, which was extremely short-lived:
This legion was recruited in 68 by Lucius Clodius Macer, the governor of Africa, who wanted to use it, together with III Augusta, in the struggle against the emperor Nero. After his suicide, the new emperor Galba distrusted Macer and ordered the procurator Trebonius Garutianus to kill the commander of the two legions - which he did. The new legion was disbanded.
It is likely that Vitellius, who succeeded Galba in 69, briefly recreated the legion. However, his death and the accession of Vespasian meant the end of the attempt to build a second African legion.
So Legio I Macriana Liberatrix existed for no more than year, maybe year and a half, but no more.
Legions: XVII, XVIII and XIX have been utterly destroyed in September of 9 CE, under Varus, in (un)famous battle in the Teutoburg Forest (Teutoburger Wald). They have never been reconstituted again.
So using the legions in the map will be OK? 30 namely or Praetorions as a legion and Legio Parthicas I II III may be added. namely my ex number 35 ?
I do not want shortly lived legions. and I liked the map
it is for Atraphoenix,Darth Stalin and V.T. Marvin
could yo to add a trigger for the unit that rename all the genera´s army to get the name of the legions.
for example when a general defeat to the gauls his name change to "Marcus Galicus"
could it apply to his units?Legio III Gallica or is it impossible?
it is a suggestion because what you are doing is amazing
sorry for my english it is bad
It is beyond me. Sorry no idea for others.
Roman Legions finished. I used the legions in this map.
After testing I will release it today.
No Hayasdan no carthaginian offices. will be same.
I'd rather use "most famous" legions - thus V Alaudae & I Germanica YES, but VII Gemina - NO.
And maybe i'm not too precise when writing "most famous" - rather with most distinguishable names, so each legion (or most of them) have names specific to them.
BTW: do you have the file with "all" legions" or just with those "mapped"?
Anyway, maybe (for myself at least) I'll make the version with slightly different names...
@Mithick666:
Sorry, but this is impossible.
A unit can get the attribute "legionary_name" but it gets the name of a province it was formed (or a name assigned to that province), as described in descr_strat.txt.
Thus legion recruited in Antiocheia in Syria can ge given a name "Parthica" for example.
However, that way of naming legions is hardcoded and there's no way to assign any name connected to a leader or any other name...
Check these descriptions :
here is the lists of known legions namely 45 legions. the list would be the same with the livius.org.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am planning to keep some and delete some of them. For example reconstituted legions may be either ex-names or later names like Legio IV Mekedonika later became IV Flavia Felix. 17 18 19. legions may be omitted as you know why.
I need to reduce some as well up to 35 if not 40 :dizzy2: As you see I marked 6 of them logical to be deleted.
descriptions of legions are ready as you see if have more info so as to make a better descriptions for legions I can use them as well. My system is as you see
foundation and creator:
Military bases:
Events:
if possible Symbol or standard of the legion:
P.S. I am googling around to find images for the banners of the ancillaries.
First of all - thanks a lot for this wonderful submod.
I like the idea behind and the system (as presented by now) very much. :2thumbsup:
But to be honest - I'm a bit confused about the mechanics.
To tell it short: Where and when do I get the chance to have the "legio xxx" ancillaries as Romans?
I'm in the Polybian era (since about 30 turns) and thought I would have the chance to grab the Republican legions. But nothing happened regardless where I stood with my FM's.
Maybe I have to get Marian Reforms first?
And where do I have to go?
Thanks a lot in advance for enlightening me.
And furthermore - thanks for boosting my motivation to start another Roman campaign. :laugh4:
wait a bit after my workload finish I have finally time to change roman legions with name.
with current version you have to wait marian reforms namely in short conquer 90 settlements.
but after my next release I will add some legions without need of marian. name to conquer the certain cities you can have legion legates ancillaries.
at the moment I am busy with photoshopping with image files.
If I manage to finish photoshopping problem tonight I will release my next version.
P.S.: as my photoshopping horrible until one can release an image for my ancillaries I will keep the current ones.
Alright.
Since you mentioned your mod to be savegame compatible it's no big problem if the next release isn't finished that soon. ~;)
Thanks for the quick reply and again thanks for the work. :2thumbsup:
After spending my hours what may be the future of my mod.
I made a decision. I will leave my mod as it is at the moment and I will wait for EB2 for my next releases. Currently I prepared my version as two options like city mod.
Version 2.1a is my adaptation namely I left other factions as they are I added 45 known legions for Romans. I made again marian control obligatory. I triggered the legions to be granted with the certain cities.
Version 2.1b is the adaptation of V.T. Marvin who used 25 legions with the system of 1 legion for 3 provinces. Also he made some changes with affect. If you need other info you can PM him or ask him here.
so methinks It is the best solution at the moment until EB2 is ready to adapt my mod.

Important Note: As I got the permission from RS Team to use their banners for my ancillaries. I am changing my last version at the moment, so my last version's download link will be added when I changed them.
sorry Atraphoenix when will you release the last version whi tthe description and all?
when my photoshopping torture ends :laugh4:
after the hours of planning and coding etc.
I finally shaped my next version.
I decreased the legion numbers to 35 + Praetorian Prefect.
The Legates were triggerred to get in a a certain city.
I left marian control for all legion offices, namely to trigger offices you have to conquer 90 settlements.
all of the legion descriptions were rewritten.
Although I could not adapt, namely I could not open cas files but thanks to fraps I added RS legion images.

it does not work
EB freezes on the initial load screen
:help:
I know it that is why I abondoned the link until I fix it.
Pls use V.T. Marvin's Adaptation for now he also made some interesting changes.
If you have my zip for version 2.0 you can use it as well. at the moment I resinstalled my previous V.2.0 and restarted to mod from the beginning :wall:
P.S. Here is the link if you want to use my old version 2.0 :
http://uploaded.to/file/qx1aya/Exten...s.Mod.V2.0.rar
I will wait to your last work XD i have seen the ancillaries the legion flags they look very good:2thumbsup:
The main problem is there is no coding mistake. :dizzy2:
There is a small and unimportant mistake but I got crazy what it is! :wall:
By the way I am modding one by one. If I get info which file is causing this problem I halved the problem :sweatdrop:
Looks to be good so far...tried a few sample games and AS gets satraps within a few turns, and KH seems to work too...nothing with Pahlava yet but then again I haven't started expanding yet. How do my guys get the CIC and Treasurer ancillaries?
Oh! Didn't realize that. Sorry *blushes*
they are original EB offices that are already in EB. so I have no idea how to get them.
alredy i want to play whit your mod XD:playingball::hourglass:
if I can open EB without freezing and make it work for a few turns, I will release it today.
I left the bonuses as it is. I do not know why when I changed +1 management bonus for legion legates with +1 command it causes freezing and EB does not start. In theory it should not cause, maybe there is a missspelling either in a trigger or description.
My last release V2.2 just uploaded.

P.S. Please send your screenies to update the faction info section.
HI Atraphoenix WICH IS THE Diference betwen v 2.1a and v2.2 becuase 2.1 export_descr_ancillaries is less heavy than export_descr_ancillaries v2.1a what offices did you remov?
get is there Praetorian Prefect?
wich are the changes?
let's explain:
V.T. Marvin' adaptation:
as far as I know:
he used 25 legions. To get for every new office you should take 3 provinces. namely 1 legion for 3 provinces. he changed +1 management bonus with +1 command for legions. (I also tried to do this but I had no idea when I tried it froze my game all the time )
may last version:
35 legion commander. I added their descriptions. to get the legion commander offices (legatus) you should take 50 provinces cos I adapt my EBBS script marian control with unconditional 50 cities.
legion commander still have same bonuses why I explained above. and of course I changed legion banners.
these must be the main differences for detailed ones you should ask V.T. Marvin.
As I do not like playing Romani. I do not care the numbers of legions but many likes named legions.
I hope it helped a bit. :egypt:
P.S. Please send your images or image links for my main post so as to show the offices. My PC sucks so I get many a ctd :wall:
I have abondenned Praetorian Prefect because when I deleted it my mod stopped freezing. plz do not ask me I also do not why :laugh4:
do not forget 2.1a is the bugged one methinks because of "Praetorian Prefect" V.T. Marvin has 2.1b my last tested and working version is 2.2.
so does that mean we should edit our script so its 50 provinces for marian reforms
1-Yes
2-No
Let me explain I abondoned the marian control for my legion commander offices, instead I triggered them with 50 city ownership. so you do not need marian reforms for my roman offices.
but I modded my EBBS script for marians for 50 provinces so ın my PC when I get marians I get my roman offices too.
as EBBS scripting is not the scope of my mod I do not add EBBS file cos I have no backup for it and it will make my mod a nightmare to download. EBBS is around 6-7 MB my mod is just only 1.6 MB.
so you can change marians yourself. If you are happy to get my offices with 50 cities and marians with 90 cities there is no problem. otherwise there is a lot of threads that explains how to change romani reforms. very simple for me : find EBBS
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
if you change this trigger like that you make marians to be triggered with 50 cities.
I hope it helped.
thanks for your help. ive changed mine to 40 provinces but ill just up it by ten i have no problem with it
I've downloaded that mod and I'm gonna see if that works... yet I'm also gonna change the places and conditions for acquiring the legatus ancillaries. I've ssen that Atraphoenix used places where the legions had stationed for long - I'm going to change it to places where they had been levied and in more "historical" order.
Thus the EOM's Legio XVI (Legio VII Paterna Claudia Pia Fidelis) will be the first one to be levied (first I wanted to renumber the legions and their banners, also with changing descriptions, buty it seems much easier to change the conditions for getting the Legati.
However, the legionary ancillaries will not be restricted to Marian reforms, they will rather be tied to some number of captured provinces (as V.T. Marvin proposed), yet not as regularly; and some of them will be available "at instant".
do not forget to change ancillary images names. at the moment legates have their own image like image
LegioI belongs to Legio I Legio I Adiutrix
here is the full list of images(banners) of legates:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
As I expressed in my first page my mod is not save game compatible with previous versions. So I advice anyone not to load a save game. Start a new campaign.
P.S. I will work on Hayasdan and Carthage that have no offices. So I will not add any more offices for romans. I should find a phoenician dict. and a good book on Hayasdan Government. İf any idea plz help.
Atra
Yes, I've noticed that and made a list for my own... however it seems that it doesn't matter, in which order the ancillaries appear, am I right? (I still dunno what the attribute "electability" is used for), thus the easiest way will be to change conditions for ancillaries to be achieved - for exaple if I set conditions for LegioI = Legio I Adiutrix to be available when Rome has >50 provinces and an FM is in Segestica, while Legio VII Claudia Pia Fidelis (= LegioXVI) will be available in Capua and if Rome has >3 provinces, then I suppose that Legatus_of_LegioXVI will appear BEFORE Legatus_of_LegioI.Quote:

for electability: mostly it is for avoiding getting another ancillary. for detailed info you can ask ancillary guys. I keep it because my module for my mod was written by EB Team for Roman Governors and Seleucid Satraps. I just deleted trait triggers but I did not touch roman goverment and seleucid satrap section.
do not forget if you change EDA you should start a new campaign. the save games works with previous ancillaries but you will not get any more ancillaries, tested confirmed. I have not gotten any ancillary for more than 10 years (40 turns) after I changed EDA on a save gave.
Electability is an attribute used in vanilla (where a Senate faction existed) to detrmine the likelihood that a character will get elected to one of those vanilla senate offices.
As EB no longer uses this feature, they are free to use it for other purposes. All characters come with electability = 0 by default. The effect of a province or legate ancillary will raise this rating by some number (I guess it does not really matter how much, here at least by 11). Now the trigger to get any of those province or legate ancillaries contain a condition that the character has electability value less than 11 (or whatever). The result is, that a particular character cannot obtain more than one such ancillary (unless you transfer one on him manually), which makes sense and prevent spamming of several such ancillaries on one man when other conditions are met.
At least this is my understanding of the use of this attribute. I admit it has puzzled me too for quite a while.:sweatdrop::beam:
Hi all :)
What's the difference between Extended Offices Mod V.2.2 and Extended Offices Mod V.2.1b
Thanks :)
Basically the Extended Offices Mod V.2.1b gives you legionary ancillary since the beginning of the game (Camillan era) allowing you to have one legion for every three provinces conquered. Tha ancillaries look all the same, they differs only by legion number inscribed on them and gives you the names (in the ancillary description) in no particular order, just to keep track of your legions. Suitable for role-playing campaigns that do not dwell too strictly on historical timelines.
The Extended Offices Mod V.2.2 gives you beautiful RS ancillaries for legions from Marian era onwards, with detailed historical descriptions matching the regions where each particular legion was originally raised or deployed. Suitable for those who love to re-play/re-create historical Roman Empire.
In other respects the versions are identical IIRC.
You could also download both, check the files and than decide which suits more to your preferences and install that one.:2thumbsup:
Marvin is right my own version is based on historical order. his adaptation is based on geographical order. Namely I stress time he stresses place.
BTW, I just came to say hello as I made another mod that was too easy to mod even I do not count it as a mod then just a bit modification.
I hope you all liked my mod. I will not here until Juli because of my vital exam.
so Zoroaster returned his cave again...

I discovered that your mod does'nt work for Makedonia......:shame:.....anyway to fix this problem......:help:
I could not see any problem. Do not forget, you need cities to get offices :book:. Large towns cannot give offices. Also you need patience, game engine is not so generous on giving ancillaries. :whip:
As you see I have waited until 260s BC.
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/attac...1&d=1243087920
Plus I am thinking to get offices in an easier way. but I have system for this mod that EB team developed so I do not wanna change it.
I guess it worked in your case.......My problem is a little different.....First of all, let me tell u what I m using it with.......I have EB 1.2 with Alex engine, allied armies mod, & force diplomacy, some trait changes...........I will wait till 260's B.C. but the problem is that it is hard to reach that year, because when I end turn, sometimes I encounter a CTD.......I reload a previous savegame & I endturn......than it worked for a couple of turns......however, last time when I encountered the CTD it was when Arche Seleukia (AI) were playing there turn, it could'nt be resolved by reloading........so I had to replace your files & only than, I was able to continue my campaign.......Is there some compatibility issue ??????
my mod is save game compatible, but it will have some bugs, so I advice new campaign. :sweatdrop:
Plus you should check wether allied armies mod used ancillaries.
Are you changing both export_descr_ancillaries in data folder and export_ancillaries file in text folder of EB Data folder. if you forgot to change one of them you will get a certain CTD, you can be sure of it.
Oh, man thats the solution.......I did'nt change the ancillaries in text folder......Thanks for the help man........
Mate, if you forgot it; you are quarantined to have CTD :laugh4:
I have good news for you, I had just 1 trigger for each ancillary so I am planning to add at least 3 triggers to get ancillaries. The more trigger, more chance, but it is a very time consuming activity.
and am planning to add culture to triggers so romans cannot get satrapies, and hellens cannot get pahlavan ewenbed, hazarbed, etc.
I hope it helped.
Atra
Till now my campaign is progressing smoothly......unfortunately, I don't have a city yet so there are no ancillaries....:sweatdrop:......I noticed one thing in the screenshot you posted.....the same guy is Diolketos, Archstrategos, & satrapeia makedonias......I recommend that in your update on this mod.....use triggers such as the dude who is the governor of pella gets the satrapeia makedonias ancillary, just like the attuned governor trait......& the dude who has the most command stars should be the Archstrategos (management in case of Diolketos).........:book:
"pella gets the satrapeia makedonias ancillary"
Infact only General in Pella gets its satrapy. But because of endless war with epirot, KH, pontos, then AS.... no one got any chance to live and womanize in their satrapy :laugh4:
To add influence, or other conditions just make harder to get ancillaries. So I am happy with the current status. Even now it is a nightmare to get them :wall:.
Thanks for taking to the time to make this, I'm going to include it in my just about to hit Marians Roman campaign, and keep it for all the new ones! Great stuff :2thumbsup:
thanks, I hope you enjoy playing :beam:
I've been using this mod while playing a Baktrian campaign, and many of the ancillaries work fine. However, the only governor ancillaries I've gotten are for Baktria and India. Shouldn't there be two more?
The other cities I own are definitely large enough.
Unfortunately, game engine is not so generous on giving ancillaries, so I advice 2 things :
1-Put different generals who has no experience (no or a few ancillary) to the cities that triggers them or send lots of them to that city to increase the chance to get the ancillary.
2-use this code:
You should check names as you know ethnic system is very complex in EB.Quote:
give_ancillary "character name" "catamite" gives a spy or assassin this ancillary= +1 subterfuge
give_ancillary "character name" "courtesan(ancillary)" gives a spy or assassin this ancillary= +1 subterfuge
reducing thered and omitting the blue in theory may increase your chance to get ancillary.Quote:

but EDA (export_descr_ancillaries.txt) does like touching her.
A new campaign is necessary or you will get some funny ancillaries, it mixes them like traits.
so do not surprize to see this if you do not open a new campaign:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
BTW you have Nisa and Alexandropolis, don't you?
The funny offices would be given only to AIcharacters or to player's characters too?
EDIT- i'm going to download the "cursus honorum" mod, is this compatible with your mod? https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...Honorum&page=5
This mod is compatible with all submods for EB 1.2. Because, so far I am the only modder who modded ancillaries for EB. But my other mods except realist movement mod, are mostly built on alex EB and only works under alex.exe and does not work with other mods except LZ3's minimod.
PErfect. Another question: the new "ancillaries" could exceed the maximum number of available ancillaries for each character? And is it possible for a character to give those "ancillaries" to another character?
yes you can, for example if you want to give an ancillary to a certain FM who has already 8 ancillaries transfer one of his ancillary to another FM then give him the ancillary you want to give . just click and and hold over other FM then release mouse :2thumbsup:
Hello Atraphoenix!
I am sorry to bother you with this in this thread. But I am unable to find the mod which makes the land look like that in your preview pictures. I searched for land mod but was unable to find anything. What is the name or link to the eb mod which makes the land look like that?:dizzy2:
Sorry for the off-topic...:sweatdrop:
~Fluvius
you mean campaign map?
I use RS textures, here is the link :
http://rapidshare.com/files/12595008...tures.zip.html
included in minimod pack of LZ3 as optional.
just copy paste DESCR_AERIAL_MAP_GROUND_TYPES.TXT and other tga files but do not forget to delete previous tga files.
Sorry, i'm using the mod, i've started a Baktrian campaign and i would like to see that new "ancillaries".
I have a great FM who has 10 menagement and 10 influence, with 5 command stars, and still don't get any office...
I've conquered the eleutherioi's cities between the old Seleucid border and the indian cities, reaching the persian gulf, and 2 seleucid cities (before attacking them, i've forced them to rebel thanks to my spies) Alexandreia Ariana and Propthasia.
Why aren't my FM getting any office? THey have less than 8 ancillaries.
hi guys, my first post, sorry if my english is not so fluent, and if i'll go a little bit off topic
congratulations to you all: i really think you did a great job with this mod. i tried yesterday, applied past plenty of other mods (rtw + alex + eb 1.2 + fixes + city mod + alex fixes + realistic movements + no-"californian"-trees + and so on), working fine. as to me, it's for sure mod-compatible. maybe skipping legionary_buggy_name and go working on ancillaries seemed a simple idea, but you got to have it in your brain, and you had
just to return in-topic for a while, mikhail, i suppose that if you installed the (Atraphoenix?) mod correctly, it may be an issue regarding the event conditions. i'm a programmer, taking a quick look at the code, i can read something like that in the settlement related to the ancillary you need at least a governors palace, that it's not possible for faction leader/heir, there's a random percent of success, etc...
you needn't any defined city to get archistrategos and dioiketes.Quote:
;------------------------------------------
Trigger acquire_baktrian_satrapy_arachosia : name of ancillary
WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd : you can get after you press end turn button
Condition FactionType romans_brutii : you can only get this ancillary if you play with baktria
and EndedInSettlement : your general or FM stayed in a city
and RemainingMPPercentage = 100 : and did not move during the turn
and IsGeneral : FM or general not spy / diplomat
and not IsFactionHeir : is not faction heir
and not IsFactionLeader : is not faction leader
and SettlementName Alexandropolis : must stay in the defined city
and SettlementBuildingExists >= governors_palace : the settlement should be at least a city
and Attribute SenateStanding < 11 : order of ancillaries in fact it is hardly to express its details
and not FactionwideAncillaryExists baktrian_satrapy_of_arachosia : there is no other ancillary / prevents getting the ancillary more than once
and RandomPercent > 90 : if you comlete this conditions %90 your FM will get ancillary
AcquireAncillary baktrian_satrapy_of_arachosia Chance 100
Affects NumAncillariesAcquired 1 Chance 100 : these two lines are untouchable parts but you have to code like that to get ancillary
for satrapies/strategos governors : you should have : Nisa, Alexandropolis, Patala, Baktra and these cities should be at least a city not large town or town.
if it does not help:
put at least 2 or more FMs to that city,
plus I can confess that rookie generals (no ancillary or young) can get than legendary ones I do not why but my 9 star general could not get one satrapy but a new comes of age general took it in the second turn.
if it does not help use the code:
P.S. and reading previous messages also helps. :yes:Quote:
give_ancillary "character name" "catamite" gives a spy or assassin this ancillary= +1 subterfuge
give_ancillary "character name" "courtesan(ancillary)" gives a spy or assassin this ancillary= +1 subterfuge
Ok, the cities are just too little to trigger it, thanks!
You're welcome, no problem for me
Unfortunately I am the only submodder of EB who mods ancillaries.
methinks I will stay alone until EB2.lol!
I will upload Achaemenid Satrapies Edition after frontie works again.
It has no other change than historical Achaemenid Satrapies that is stated in Behistun Incription.
I just want to allow pahlava lovers to role play to revive Achaemenid Empire under Pahlava banner.
I hope the maintenance of frontie does not take too much. :whip:
Edited: I have uploaded EOM Achaemenid Satrapies Edition you can download from this link or from the first message.
http://files.filefront.com/EOM+Versi.../fileinfo.html
savegame compatible?
thanks!
I keep getting a CTD at turn 3 :skull:
v3
nvm fixed it by putting the export_ancillaries in the text folder :shame:
Please read the download instructions first, as I do not know how to make an install exe you have to perform whole process without any mistake.
Namely, if you fail to replace my mod files even one, it causes CTD. :wall:
I was happy to hear you could finally manage to work it.
