Yaah.
I was unable to leave me bed, but nothing came over the radio.
Good luck to both sides.
Why would we trust a cheater about that? :inquisitive:
Excellent we nailed one of those cheaters sorry for my lack of activity so far.
Also I do find that it is hard to say that people are innocent based on voting for mafia since the mafia do not know each other that cannot be a determinator of either innocence or of guilt.

whoa dude i am innocent. I ROLEBLOCKED Pevergreen. I used the kitten contraption. Thought it was a dud, see the kitten threw me off, tought i would simply clear out some junk, guess it was a good idea after all, hehe

how bout you give me a little explanation. and what you been doing at night?
oh and PEVERGREEN, PEVERGREEN, PEVERGREEN
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
in case you are confused later pever, i was kidding.
Second, blackadder, i am simply wondering why no suspicion is being placed on people of the SOI list? after one night phase inwhich no ones actions can be really confirmed we are placing suspicion. Are there are any REAL suspects that anyone may have reached because of any night actions they took last turn or was everyone's inventions duds except for mine?
Double A's worked, but it would be funny if that was the twist and only the Mafia had working contraptions.
about 3 hours until deadline, get your orders in you landlubbers...err wrong game
Professor Von Yaropolk gathers all the competitors in the morning and you notice that you are one short, and there is a stiff body in a very awkward position lying on a gourney covered up with a white sheet. Professor Von Yaropolk pulls off the sheet and reveals.....Beskar! His face is frozen in a grimace.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Follow me to the video cameras, says the professor. The film is grainy and there is no sound, but the professor has helpfully inserted silent-movie style captions!
A figure sneaks up to Beskar’s room and knocks on the door. "KNOCK KNOCK" says the caption. Then the figure quickly hides around the corner. Beskar comes out to investigate. "WHO IS THERE?" says the caption. He looks one way; when he turns around to look the other way, a pistol stretches out from behind the corner and shoots. "SPROING!" The dart hits Beskar in the leg. He takes off running in the opposite direction screaming . "HEEEEEEELP!" As he rounds the corner a second figure steps out of the shadows in front of him and plants a second dart square between his eyes. "HASTA LA VISTA" says the caption as the man steps back into the shadows. Beskar's body falls with a "THUD" .
"Well that was entertaining", says Von Yaropolk. Beskar is hereby disqualified from the competition on account of rigor mortis! So, lets get on with the voting. Today we have a new contraption. You've all seen the potato that powers a lightbulb. Today we're going to power a GIANT lightbult using a GIANT potato. Lacking a giant potato we're going to use one of you as a battery. You just stand on this platform here, hold the Zinc anode in one hand, the Copper cathode in the other, and we'll see what happens. Now VOTE I say!

well i tried using my green box. it was supposed to be an x ray machine, but it was sabotaged. Anyone else?
I tried the robot thingy but it broke due to me spilling the acid on it.
I tried to Use my Rube Goldberg black box on Tratorix. It failed because It was so darned complicated.... :dizzy2:
^ really it was too complicated?
That isn't how it works, is it, CDF?
I used the camera on Sasaki, but he had a contraption in place.
Hmm, I used the rube goldberg on AVSM.
Vote:Centurion
Pretty sure he's guilty.
I was not told what the name of my machine was, nor was it in my pm, however it was very clear what it did. He also doesn't say who he used it on.
When pevergreen is looking guilty he reveals this.
Now it's the kitten contraption? He used it because he thought it was a dud? What?
Convenient it was sabotaged? How did he know it was supposed to be an x ray machine?Quote:

I bet it was revenge for another game where I tricked them into getting killed. :laugh4:

In the Gray box you find a Plunger, a Bellows, a Steamer, and an empty Glass Vial.
In the Gold box you find Lenses, Brass tubing, and Tiny windshield wipers.
In the Bronze box you find a Length of Wire, a Big Magnet, a Kitten, some Carpeting and Large metal hoops
In the Red box you find a Plunger, a Bellows, a Steamer, and an empty Glass Vial.
In the Green box you find Lenses, Brass tubing, and Tiny windshield wipers.
In the Purple box you find Copper tubbing, Several Lenses, a Needle, a Vial of Green Liquid and a Trigger mechanism
You may use one item from the boxes each night. The item has a 50% chance of working since you don't have assembly instructions. Two of your boxes were sabotaged. You may be able to spot them with a keen eye. If you make a transistor radio, you will hear everything that is broadcast that night. You can also send out your own broadcasts by sending me the broadcast. It will be heard by all cheaters and whoever else is using a radio that night.
Your goal is to eliminate all the cheaters. Good luck!
one item from each box?
Each box contains the spare parts needed to construct one item. The description of the items are in the main thread. 2 boxes are sabotaged and are guaranteed to fail. The remaining will work 50% of the time. You can guess what the item is by looking at the parts in the box and thinking about what they would build out of the list of items. You can use the contents of one box each night. For example you could say: "Tonight i build the item in the purple box and use it on Yaropolk". Be careful what you build as the resutls may be unexpected if you get an unanticipated item.

You pack up your box and sneak into Pevergreen's room. He is still sleeping. You lay one metal hoop on the floor around him and attach the magnet to the ceiling. You run wires from the hoop to the piece of carpet, and then put the kitten on the carpet and pet him a few times. Surely enough the kitten starts playing on the carpet and soon sparks of electricity start flying up from the loop to the magnet. Looks like a fine Cyclomagnetic Force Field Generator. You snicker and sneak back to your room.
what does that do?
All item powers are listed in the first post. It's a jailkeeper (combination role block and protect). The ability to listen to the radio is not affected by it as listed in the first post.

You cut the copper tubing into round frames, and insert the lenses into each frame. You attach little windshield wipers to form very stylish goggles. You realize that they don’t have X-Ray capabilities as a part must be missing. (Box was sabotaged).
Are you sure that role pm was exactly like that?
Funny, it doesn't match mine. Plus a fake pm tip, don't spell results wrong

Faking Role is a no no it doesn't match up with my role hence you are scummy.
Hey, if Centurion1 ends up actually being a cheater, could I have credit for both pevergreen and him? (or part-credit)
:bounce:
Sure you will be remembered in the annals of Compitation history as Beskar Defender of the Fairness and there will be the Besker Award for most fair play in the compation. :)
3 hours until round ends.
True, but I started the bandwagon. :P
You obviously get credit as well.
Vote: Tratorix
why have we not heard from him? he is online I know that much.
Vote tally
Centurion1: 4 (Sassaki, Slashandburn, Khazaar, Captain Blackadder)
Tratorix: 1 (CDF)
Professor Von Yaropolk isn't happy with the lack of votes. We can't have an inventors tournament without everyone voting to kill each other off! Sounds like a good time for a 2-for-1 special. Lynch one active player wog one lurker free!
The professor escorts both contestants to the platform. Centurion you hold the cathode, Tratorix you hold the anode. Ions from your body (positive from Centurion and negative from Tratorix) will flow down the wire to power the lightbulb. Both players do as instructed, and lo-and-behold the lamp lights up. Both players seem to be fine as well. A good 10 minutes go by without any violent deaths. This is no good at all. The players take a bow and walk off the platform unscathed. Suddenly both fall over, they've died from lack of electrolytes in their bodies. How anticlimactic.
Now says Von Yaropolk, go back to your rooms and do me proud!
Night 3 ends at 5 pm EST on Wednesday.

Hmm, so what was centurion?
I say we need to take a look at the lurkers.
i was an honest inventor, genius.
have you ever played a game with me...... i never make posts that long, i am wayyyyy to lazy, i mostly go on the site for like thirty minute intervals.
an apology is in order i believe
It's tough luck for you that yaropolk didn't put your name in the pm...made it look fake.
I say captain blackadder is guilty.
i would say FOS: Sasaki
the man is trying to make the town do whatever he wants..... while not saying what he does at night
My role pm said "Welcome to my airship Sassaki" instead of "Welcome to my airship" like centurion had. I figured yaropolk sent a generic townie pm to each of the cheaters without bothering to put in a name.
Huh, my is just like Centurions. just says welcome to my airship ~:mecry: Do I not deserve my name put in my PM Yaropolk?
But really I think you may be in a minority here sasaki. :sweatdrop:
huh, seems be that there is an added paragraph on centurions PM, Mine just stops after saying "Your goal is to eliminate all the cheaters. Good luck!" :inquisitive:
ahhh, carry on then.
thats fine Yaropolk, was supposed to be a joke..... should have put a funny clown face. :clown:
Thats what I thought it was, makes sense.
Sasaki's just special! :clown:
bah, i say either beskar, slash and burn, blackadder, or sasaki are scum.
sasaki- called me out on minor difference of role pm
beskar- bandwaggoned with no real explanation
slash and burn- gleefully bandwaggoned
blackadder- had the convinent name excuse in my pm.....
Mine said Welcome to my airship Captain Blackadder just like yours I assumed like you that all towniw pms were the same but obviously this is incorrect so it was an honest mistake.
Also Centurion it is impossible that Besker would be a cheater since he was previously killed by a cheater.
I have to be somewhere today at 5 pm, so round will end 15 mins early (4:45 pm est) - 30 mins from now.
Also, I didn't bandwagon you, Centurion1. I can't vote, I am dead, I got killed. I hope it was by a mafia, as I would be really annoyed if it was by an innocent.
Round's over. Expect the writeups to be in about 2 hours - i have to step out.
Professor Von Yaropolk gathers all the inventors once again in the morning. Again you find yourself one short. Double A is not with you. Von Yaropolk rolls out the film projector and you observe the night's results with silent movie captions as always.
A man runs up to Double A’s door and kicks it wide open “WHERE ARE YOU” the captions say. Double A jumps behind his bed as the man fires a poison dart from his pistol. The camera rotates 360 degrees around the dart as its flying through the air. "WHOOSH" How did Von Yaropolk do that?! The dart barely misses Double A's head but bounces off the work table behind him and ricochets right in his bum. "SPROINNNNNG" Double A collapses to the floor.
Now, ahem, coughs Yaropolk, time to get down to business. You may have heard of a recent invetion of a "Petrol" (Yaropolk makes air quotes with his fingers) powered auto carriage. Prepostorous I say! Even if this crazy contraption of theirs works, where will they find smooth roads to drive?! I'm working on a steam powered walker. Yaropolk points to a set of two aluminum stilts connected to a steam engine backpack. Just put these on and you can walk anywhere! Tonight's lucky winner will get to test it out. I call it The Von Yarowalker! I think it will be all the rage with the kids in a decade's time!
OOC: Someone pointed out to me that one of the descriptions on the first post did not match the part description I sent out. The "Steam Powered Defibrilator" has been renamed the "Wheel Powered Defibrilator"
Stupid 50% failure chance. :wall: My second roleblock failed. Very irksome.
I guess Rube Goldberg machines are harder then I thought.
I protected captain blackadder, didn't realize what the machine was. Vote:captain blackadder
That's my gut feeling...we are a bit short of evidence at the moment.
You guys vote cdf, he has conveniently failed night actions every turn, then posts that he failed, abstains and waits until the end of the next night phase
Hmm, "the less suspicious CDF is, the more likely he is to be guilty" that's a fair point.
it really is. now i know that cdf is busy lately with a lot of different games, but i don't know something doesnt fell right
No, I reread a bit and CDF was first out the gate with talking about what the boxes did, he sounds innocent there. I would put AVSM and captain blackadder as the most likely mafia.
unvote:captain blackadder, vote:AVSM
I was goito vig Captain Blackadder but my box was sabotoged. Vote:AVSM
:(
I will seriously cut whoever killed me. This was really fun and a nice break from the hectic other stuff.
Also I want a steam powered walker.
I am innocent. And honestly, I'm not lurking, just being busy.
Vote: CB
I've only used one of my boxes (And it failed because Sasaki Goldberg'd my door). Sorry.
Hey, I am just trying to be helpful. Plus I have not failed ALL of my night actions. Just night 2 and 3's. night one I used the acid little robot thing to burn up one of Sasaki's parts and that worked fine.
I was trying to role block Captain Blackadder, Did not work out.
Pressure Vote Atheotos only two posts the entire game and only one of them was an actual post thus this vote remains on him till he starts talking or if the host gives notice that he is wogged or replaced. Nothing is more annoying then allowing scum to lurk to victory.
This round ends at 8 pm est.
Sorry guys..been busy and away from org. I did not submit any actions last night.
Vote: Abstain
I will be back later to read in detail and respond.
Ok then thank you just talk a little more in the future
UNVOTE ATHEOTES VOTE AVSM
Round's over, writeup coming shortly
Tally:
AVSM - 3 (sassaki, slash, cb)
CB - 2 (avsm, cdf)

Von Yaropolk invites A Very Super Market up to the Von Yarowalker. AVSM eagerly jumps into the stilts and throws the steam pack up on his shoulders. Von Yaropolk hands him a small gauge. "Turn the knob clockwise to release more steam and go faster, but remember not to go past..." Too late, AVSM grabbed the gauge and was already off. Miraculously the contraption actually worked. With a puff of steam and a "Chuga-Chuga" sound, the walker took off. AVSM walked a lap around the airship, and then cranked up the knob. The walker started running. It moved much faster than a human, maybe as fast as 3 leagues per hour. Not satisfied, AVSM cranked the knob even more. The walker was not moving with blinding speed, on the next lap everyone felt a "WHOOOSH" from the wind. The walker moved faster and faster until suddenly the stilts went flying in different directions. AVSM's leg muscles could not take the stress of such rapid motion and he was torn in half.
"Excellent experiment" exclaimed Von Yaropolk and scribbled something into his noteboook "Next time the gauge only go to 6 leagues per hour. I shall call this Von Yaropolk's constant of human muscle capacity."
Now then, off to your rooms and make me proud. The round will end in 24 hours, 10/9 23:59:00.
