I just thought of something funny. In all of those survival horror movies you know one of the guys who almost always dies half way through? The guy who says Screw the group and goes off on his own expecting his genre savvyness to protect him :laugh4::laugh4:
Not to be mean or anything, but so far this is turning out exactly like a normal horror movie. :sweatdrop: which means I have a death sentence on me.
But moving on. Here is what I am thinking. If we can get control of the Kitchen and lock the area down we will have a food supply all set. All we need after that would be a bathroom and bedroom set. If we could get three extra people willing to work with the rest of us to lock down Bedroom and Bathroom A we would have a strong position that we can use to send out foraging groups. There has to be a way to win this game after all. We just need to search every room while staying near to safe zones.
I like to think of the foyer as a nation. We need smaller colonies all over the mansion if we want to stay strong. :laugh4:
Edit: hey chaotix, would you be willing to lead a group towards Bedroom and Bathroom one? and lock that place down? for the above reasons. Leadership position. come on?

Re: The Mansion (In play)
There we go again, showing our plans to everyone in the game...
I think this deserves a name, how about the Parasite Effect?
-
Re: The Mansion (In play)
Me and Elite Ferret will head for the pool and that general area.
Thats the most single useless place in this mansion. Surely there must be some hidden items there. We'll be back to the original room when we find something semi useful.

The entire point of the game is we are supposed to discuss our plans with each other. :laugh4: Besides we are not supposed to really communicate by PM that much. We are all trapped here, no reason to hide things. I am trying to be a open leader willing to listen to the group

I think at the very least we need a quicktopic so whitey can't see our plans.

If there is a Serial Killer amongst us then its best to know where everyone is headed off to. That way we can watch each other.
If there is some kind of friggin monster, then we can study the patterns and figure the way out.

Whiteyes is not evil, just selfish. and I am fine with that. Its is his prerogative to go lone wolf on us, but like I said, the lone wolf guy almost always dies half way in.
In fact if he survives I will be glad that some did. As long as he does not turn psycho on us and start killing people then we have no reason to fear him.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
I'll go to the Bathroom/Bedroom area if you want, instead. Although I'm definitely gonna need some food. I start out low on both food and energy.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Well the way I see things we've all been kidnaped and locked into a mansion for someone elses amusment or something, now I dont know about you but I would assume that escape is one of the main objectives in this situation.

Yes, obviously we want to escape, but, by your own reasoning, why would they put us right by the front door if it was able to opened?
I will proclaim openly: "IT'S A TRAP!"
If you'd like to try and open it, by all means go find an axe or something. I will leave my "I told you so" at your funeral. :clown:

Yes, but somehow I doubt the person who captured us would be stupid enough to put us in the room we can escape from. We can escape, but I am guessing we need to find out why we are here, and such by searching the house. that is my guess.
Plus, the first description basically says the door can't be opened. :sweatdrop: We need to at least get ourselves secure before we start looking for escape.

Ok then, If you can secure the Bedroom/Bathroom area this round You are more than open to head to the kitchen (or grab some of the food they bring back if the lock down fails) next round. Unless you only have one round of food, in which case then I am willing to give you one of my units of food so you can get the area secured.
But I would be much obliged if you could lead the Bedroom/Bathroom Area capture.
If so I am looking for 2-3 more people to help him out and watch his back.
Bedroom A:
1. Chaotix, Leader of group
2.
3.
 I think we still have a few open people.
Atpg and Chaotix, when your groups are all together you may want to start working out your game plans. (might as well do it by PM)
-
Re: The Mansion (In play)
Happy to lend my services, as long as the leader ain't some fat factory owner.
-
Re: The Mansion (In play)
Don't worry about my lack of food just yet, I can sustain myself for now. I will happily visit the Kitchen next turn if all goes well, however.
By the way, would that be the first or second floor Bed/Bath?

I would prefer first floor, so we keep everything close by each other, but it is your prerogative. Your expedition, your rules
AVSM, would you help out Chaotix? that would be great.

:yes::yes:
I think the people who are going to storage, should make it their second priority to secure the D Bedroom. Then you could slowly expand and alternate resting. The bedroom should be secured by this round, if not we might have some problems in future :sweatdrop:

Although the main difference is that this is primarily PvE at the moment, hardly anyone is going to attack each other now, because the reality is that, someone is trying to kill us (environment), and we hardly have enough things to survive on our own and go rogue.

The problem I have with that is the fact it would be almost cut off from the kicthen. We would have no chance to grab any food accept by going up stairs. Plus this is the basement..... :sweatdrop: I do not want to tarry long. I feel like we should get the first floor under our control before moving to the basement and floor 2.

leaves one person open. And Chaotix could use a few extra men. I suggest each group leader gets there people organized and ready. Be prepared to have to fall back to the foyer if something goes wrong. I wish everyone good luck in their goals for round one. We should all keep each other posted.
Keep the discussion up, I do not pretend to be an expert at stuff like this.

Just because the foyer is the room we start out doesn't mean its safe if we leave it in the hands of a guy who will most likely die trying to get a freaking door open. We need more people protecting it.

Fine, AVSM do you mind staying behind to help Greyblades hold down the fort? Although I think we can give greyblades a little credit, he is not going to get himself killed over a door.
And yes, I am a Labor training manager. Somehow I doubt that is a high level position.
who is the twentieth person?

Re: The Mansion (In play)
As Double A said-
We have to take into account the fact that, because this game is not actually based on "rules" or statistics except for the basic food, energy, HP, just about anything that Zain wants to happen can happen. We are dealing with a possibly supernatural foe here; we can probably expect that Zain will do everything he considers within the "fairness" of the game to keep us from winning.
That means that doors may very well lock behind us inexplicably, isolating us into small groups. There will undoubtedly be a room that auto-kills anyone who enters it. In fact, Zain may be picking up these ideas as I state their possibilities in the thread... so should I continue or should I stop? :laugh4:

In all honesty, I'm not going to agree with or deny to this.
But I will say I have my own plan that will happen no matter what, AND I expect survivors. Stay smart.

Well, hopes the kitchen isnt haunted, although of course its going to be, because everyone needs food, and where do you get food? The kitchen.
Were all going to die.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Hmmmm...
Where is food eaten? The dining room.
What do people do in a lounge? Relax and sometimes have a snack.
What is the shed for? Usually it is the second home of the gardener, including his food.
I have a feeling that the storage room and kitchen will be less than welcoming.

Good luck whiteyes. and good luck to everyone heading out of the foyer to get our bases covered. Chaotix, it looks like you may have to make due with just split helping you out :sweatdrop: Good luck

I need for the people in my group to contact me and offer suggestions on how to proceed, otherwise my orders will be fairly vanilla... go to said location, try to find the food, and keep my eye on the rest of you. There's not much I can personally do if we get attacked by a demon or something, so...
Let's discuss privately.

remember, your priority is to try and lock all the doors of the kitchen and turn it into a safe zone. If you can not do that, then grab food and bring it back.

I thought we were going there to raid the fridge and turn it into a stronghold :juggle2:

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Perhaps one of the people going to the kicthen could help you out Chaotix. Although you are right, you need some added support. A third would be helpful for Chaotix's group. If AVSM does not want to kill me for having a low level manager position then he can help you out Chaotix.
Other than that I think we will have to leave greyblades to hold down the fort. I trust him not to get killed
-
Re: The Mansion (In play)
I'm happy you trust me.
Ok I sent my orders in, just be warned if you see a man running screaming towards the kitchen its me and there will be an assailant curled up in agony in the foyer clutching his nads.

Securing the Bedroom and bathroom area A. As of this moment we are pissing and such inside of the foyer :sweatdrop: not very healthy. Getting the bathroom is a good idea unless we all want to be disease ridden.
But greyblades, are you willing to hold down the fort? we need at least one man keeping the foyer locked.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
The Mansion: Phase 1
The Kitchen Expedition:
Donna E. Mosher (ATPG), Lorraine T. Hatcher (CB), Gregory C. Ronning (DIY), and Nicole W. Reed (Beskar) cautiously went to open the foyer door entering into the hallway. Not knowing what to expect Lorraine opted to enter the hallway first quietly and look underneath the rug for pressure switches and search the walls for any kind of decorations that could double as a weapon. But what they found surprised them…
The hallway was dark, dimly lit by an aged light bulb hanging from its cord in the center of the room, dust and spider webs covered the walls and floor. The floor squeaked with every little step, and they each heard their own ghostly noises coming from every corner of the mansion.
Lorraine from the front of the line, slowly crouching and sneaking to the kitchen door, turned back and said, “Let’s just get into the kitchen and see if we can find anything. This place creeps me out.”
She opened the door to darkness and Greg, the only man of the group, wielding a vase obtained from the foyer, entered first. Lorraine purposefully smelt for a gas leak before using any electricity, and when she smelt none, turned on the light. All four scrambled in and stayed up against the wall, and closed the door in fear of the light from the door drawing any unwanted attention.
The room was of a decent size, old wooden cabinets with dust and spider webs were prevalent. The refrigerator still worked, none other appliances seemed to work. The oven barely worked, but could heat food if needed.
The four searched the cabinets, refrigerator, and any other storage area for supplies. They stacked up their findings on an island in the center of the room and Donna spoke, “Like, there’s no way we can carry this all back! Is there anything else other than food?”
Greg said, “No, nothing. No utensils, no knifes, no pots or pans, nothing. Just food.”
Nicole, whom hadn’t said anything the entire quest said, “We need to leave…”
“I agree grab all you can and let’s go. Does the key have a lock?” Greg asked.
Lorraine, who had basically declared her dominance when she entered the hallway first, answered him, “No, let’s hide the food we found in some specific cabinets and mark them for the others to find.”
The four hid the food they could not carry comfortably, shut the light back off, and quickly made their way back to the foyer with their loot of 36 units of food.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The Storeroom Expedition:
Martin E. Clark (CDF), Jose A. Croy (Atheotes), Casey N. Carr (Double A), and John E. Navarro (Centurion1) entered the opposite hallway with similar caution. With the realization that the rest of the mansion seemed virtually abandoned, their situation seemed to go from bad to worse. They left John at the top of the stairwell, crept their way down the creaky stairs, and once they reached the other hallway they hung a left to the storeroom, leaving Jose to watch their backs in the hallway.
Martin and Casey, sneaking slowly and silently, opened the creaky door to the storeroom in hopes of finding anything useful. The door gets halfway open before the creaking gets louder and Martin stops opening the door. They don’t want to wake the dead.
The two slide inside and hold their breath as they flip on the light switch. There, in the back corner of the room about 20 feet in, seemed to be a man, small and frail, and as light toned as a piece of paper. He faced away from the strangers, and he didn’t seem to notice the light.
Martin and Casey stayed silent, stricken with fear at any new life found. Martin chooses to speak up, “Uh… hello? Sir?”
The man was hairless, and his skin seemed flakey. He turned to face Martin and Casey…
He sat in a squatting position, shirtless and wearing rags as pants, barefooted. His eyes, entirely black, his teeth long and thin, his features sharp. He didn’t move, just seemed to want to stare.
Martin and Casey, filled with terror at the sight, exited the room without hesitation, turning out the light and shutting the door.
They frantically ran up the stairs, dragging the questioning Jose along with them. They met John in the hallway upstairs…
Martin, out of breath, described the man to the other two, and Jose being a seemingly superstitious man exclaimed “That was a demon! My mama used to tell me stories! Let’s get out of here!”
They didn’t question him, they all wanted out of there anyway, immediately!
They ran into the foyer and locked the door behind them…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The Bedroom Expedition:
Lester G. Gilliam (Chaotix), David B. Fischer (Scottishranger), Ronald V. Birge (Split), and Jeffrey K. Harvey (AVSM) opted to travel behind the storeroom guys and try to scout out the first bedroom they could find.
The first door in front of them as they entered the hallway was a bedroom, and so they entered it cautiously, staying aware of any threats that lurked in the shadows. They flipped the light switch on and saw a perfectly normal bedroom, no dust, no spider webs; it even had an air conditioner in the window with heating feature.
Lester hurried over to the window, which was covered by a curtain, and removed it. There, laid a scary scene. A brick wall filled the window space, the air conditioner cleverly instilled in the wall.
The four searched the room, inside drawers, inside closets, under the bed. Nothing was to be found, only a bed and empty furniture.
They also scouted the bathroom carefully. But to their disappointment, the dust and spider webs was prevalent in this room, and the water looked a little off but was good to drink. The shower, did not work. But to their surprise the toilet worked. Also the bathroom door entering the second bedroom had a key in the lock, turned to deny anyone entering the bathroom from the other side.
The four holed up in that room for the time being, with the door locked on the bedroom entering the hallway and the other door locked in the bathroom leading into the other bedroom, they had found a temporary sanctuary. Strangely the sheets smelled fresh…
Lester chose to stay up and keep watch while the other three slept…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The Pool House Expedition:
Clarence M. Love (Beefy) and Brian S. Gonzalez (EF) chose to travel through the house behind the kitchen explorers to go outside, in hopes to stay alive.
They safely travel the hallway and cautiously enter the dining room. A table, must be thirty feet long, with at least forty seats, controlled the room. It was as run down and dirty as the rest of the rooms. So naturally the two did not want to be there. They hurried to the door to their far left around the table and opened the door into the ballroom. Not taking time to look around they hurried across the room and flew out of the door to the back yard. But the door didn’t open. It was locked! They both crashed hard into the door and sat back against it to regain their composure…
A thin man stood in the far left of them near the wall, facing them, staring. He had paper light skin, sharp features, and the same black eyes. This one wore a rag vest and shorts, but did nothing but stare.
Clarence whispers to Brian, “What the :daisy: is that??” Brian just shrugs, not looking away. The two begin walking towards exit into the dining room, when they realize another one was behind them, half the distance away from them than the other one. They quickened their pace, losing all caution, and ran back to the foyer. Locking themselves in, panic stricken…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The Billiards Room Expedition:
Daniel T. Hanson (JHT) and Dean M. Hoff (Tratorix) chose to enjoy their time in the mansion by taking advantage of the billiards room off of the hallway. They followed behind the pool house pair and entered the billiards room.
The table sat there, dusty and old, but had the balls and pool cues all set up and ready to play. Daniel sets the bets, “Steaks are, our food. Deal?”
“Deal!” Dean proclaimed as he selected a pool cue and got ready to begin playing. Daniel breaks and knocks in the 7 ball, “Solids, dang it…”
“Haha, Looks like I’ll be eating good tonight!”
In the midst of their game, a man, small and frail, white and quite, crawls out from under the pool table. The men, caught off guard, yell in fear and grab their weapons.
The dead black eyes glare at them at one end of the table as they stay on the other end, frozen in their places, against their luck it stood between them and the door. Then, with some random act of courageousness, Dean steps forward, pool cue in hand, and attempts to scare away from creepy looking hairless man. The showing of a weapon, was a mistake…
It grew angry, showing no signs of backing down. Its face sharpened with anger and its eyes darkened into a black swirl. Its white flakey skin began to turn clear into a gel showing its insides and veins, the blood glowing a golden orange. It grew in size, from looking like a short human to bulking up and it standing a whole head taller than either of the men. The shadow of a key showed in its forehead. It leaped towards Dean, who frantically retreated back towards the other end of the room.
Daniel ran on the other side of the table, opposite of the giant, attempting to reach the door. Dean tried to follow but tripped and bounced right back up in complete anguish and panic driven fear. The giant swung and long hard arm at Dean who trailed behind Daniel and it knocked him hard against the wall (-4 hp) Daniel turned around, spear through his pool cue at the monster who took it hard in the chest. Dean and Daniel escaped the room, closing the door in hopes of it slowing the giant down, and ran towards the door into the foyer, which had already been locked.
The two beat on it frantically until it was opened by Martin. They jumped in, breathing hard. Dean suffered from a couple of broken ribs and a terribly bruised up left side.

Also Greyblades was unable to open the front door and CountArach and Twilightblade never sent me orders, so they stayed behind and kept Greyblades company :laugh4: White Eyes’s report will be sent to him privately since he is not being a team player.
This brings an end to the first Order Phase, please discuss and send me order PM’s for the 2nd Order Phase, which will end on Tuesday at 1500 GMT.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
So we have food secured, rest area secured, I'd say our basic necessities are completed.
Now its just time to fortify the area, and deal with the creepy old men :sweatdrop:
Any ideas on how to deal with it? :juggle2:

I am pretty much allowing everyone to communicate. All groups but the bedroom group are in the foyer.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Note to self: Never go in any room we haven't been in at least 10 times and have flamethrowers on standby.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
I have a really bad feeling about the studio, lounge B, the conservatory, and the shed.
As well as every other room we haven't checked out and most that we have :sweatdrop:
Also, I think we should post our health, food, and energy.
I have 2 food, 2 energy, and 10 HP as of now.
And Zain, could you include a sort of comic relief character so I will be able to go to sleep after I read the write up next time, please?

Re: The Mansion (In play)
My apologies to all, I had several b'day parties to attend over the weekend and so was unable to send in orders

What are you talking about? White_Eyes is the comic relief. :laugh4:
He told us all, "screw you guys I'm going home". He said, I don't care if you all die as long as it's not me. He said I'm not going to help, so bug off! You have to admire that kind of cold detachment in a survival situation. Put it this way, if you got caught in a bear trap, and White_Eyes was in the room, he'd keep on walking. You guys are all nothing to him!!!
I think I might run off and join him. He's got a real bad boy thing going on and chicks like me can't get enough of that. Even if he treated me like dirt, that just might make me like him more. Coming sweetie!!

I would still at least check to make sure you didn't damage the trap.....I may need it to catch some food later or I could use you as food I guess:laugh4:
And you can all guess, what I am role-playing...That's right...a "self-adsorbed Socio-path":smoking:

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Well It did not go TO Bad. Could be worse. The Storeroom was a risk that did not pay off, but the bedroom group succeeded. And the kitchen group managed to haul in 36 units.
But.... uhhh. Here is a idea, lets NOT go play pool in the middle of a crisis.
So here is the plan for this round, we need to divide the food we hauled in.
so everyone should post food and energy levels: 2 and 2 for me  (like what Double A said.)
also, anyone want to lead any expeditions? Maybe look for some medical supplies? Or even to snoop around.
The way I see it somewhere in this mansion there is something that tells us whats going on. Knowledge is power and all that.

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Awwww I was looking forward to having a swim. I'll do what I'm told this phase.
My energy and food are both 2 as well.
-
Re: The Mansion (In play)
2 and 2 of course, I think most if not all of us started out with 3-3
Which bedroom did we secure by the way?
Bedroom A -- D ??

:laugh4: To be honest I had trouble getting to sleep too, but it was the first write-up, it HAD to freak you all out.
I need CDF to divide up the food in his next PM so I can add it to everyone's stats next turn. Also when people hit 1 in either food or energy I will remind them.

Interesting part highlighted! I think that it is possible that they are all the same thing... traveling between the scenes.
Also, looks like this is probably the thing we need to kill so that we can escape or something, so its quite likely that its gonna be tough to take down, so we probably should try to avoid conflict or something :sweatdrop:
Maybe fire would work against it :idea2:
I don't think blunt objects/kinetic force is going to work against it (Eg: Melee weapons/guns)

Re: The Mansion (In play)
Would splintered wood do? I think I must have broken afew chairs in my escape attempt.
