Noe change to save - didn't realise Hümmel was under siege.
BTW, guys, don't forget to check the Status thread to check for permission to enter various nobles lands.(I've just changed it to allow the Kaiser in).

Igno, you may want to reconsider - that unit of archers outside your walls will allow Cecil (taking control of France in hotseat mode) to draw Hummel and his army out of Antwerp as reinforcements and slaughter them in a battle. I'd move them if I were you...
Wait, don't we fight all battles, even when attacked?
yeah you're probably right actually - but even so, wouldn't you prefer to avoid that battle and fight it as a sally instead if you have to?
ok - I just thought with the archers where they are he can force you to a battle whenever he wants, whereas if you move them he can't and you get to choose
it's a bit of an exploit really (I mean there's no way in real life you'd abandon your defences and rush out of the besieged settlement to save some archers), so he may not want to use it but I just thought I'd try to be helpful and mention it
Taking the save:
As per the recent discussion in the OOC thread, the full amount of tribute from the Danes for the purchase of Hamburg shall go to Andreas Hummel hereforward.
Update: Due to recent, ah, events regarding Duke Hummel, Antwerp, and the French, the full amount of tribute from the Danes for the purchase of Hamburg will go to the Kaiser.
The Kaiser's financial ministers, all of them looking like they haven't slept in a week, shove a piece of parchment into somebody important's hands, saying that the money from Hamburg is now to go to Theodoricus der Bartige.
The turn has ended. Standby for the next turn to begin.
Here are the announcements for the season of 1110.

The Kaiser, as naturally expected, has decisively defeated the French stationed outside of Antwerp in battle. The survivors have retreated to Antwerp, where a token garrison remains. They will be overwhelmed next season. The French King Philippe the Something-or-other has fallen in battle. The Kaiser's armor was unfortunately scratched in a couple of areas.
I give Vaclav Premyslid full permission to use the garrison of Frankfurt in whatever way he sees fit to defeat the current Polish invaders. In recognizance of the recent amendment of the Imperial Charter, I also give Vaclav Premyslid permission to march in the province of Frankfurt with more than just his bodyguard. SOT will be updated to reflect this.
The inhabitants of Frankfurt, upon hearing notice of the Polish army making its way towards them, have turned to God in somewhat greater numbers than normal to see them through this time of troubles (OOC: I recruited a priest).
-edit- OOC: Cecil, I ransomed the French prisoners taken during the battle, and it was accepted. I forgot to take a screenshot of the exact figure, but I believe the total was right around 1,300 florins.
In addition, for his work in reclaiming Innsbruck, it is only right that I grant the province to Bavaria.
here is the save, I have besieged Budapest, and spot no nearby Hungarian forces.

Here are the announcements for the end of the season of 1113.
- Frankfurt has been surrounded by Polish forces and is held under siege. Though safe for the moment, there is no telling whether or not your foes will assault the walls soon, or attempt to starve your defenders out. Perhaps acting first may take your foes by surprise...
- Innsbruck has been surrounded by Milanese forces and is held under siege. Though safe for the moment, there is no telling whether or not your foes will assault the walls soon, or attempt to starve your defenders out. Perhaps acting first may take your foes by surprise...
- His Holiness the Pope demands that the Reich stops shedding the blood of your fellow Christians. Cease hostilities against the Kingdom of Hungary immediately and do not carry out hostile acts for the duration of four seasons. The penalty for failure is excommunication.
- An agent of France has been discovered. Though this threat has been dealt with properly, with a public execution, it is a reminder that vigilance is indeed necessary.
- The common people under Lothar Zirn's rule have noted his sense of Chivalry has grown, and now consider him Chivalrous in Rule.

Antwerp taken and occupied - 287 florins were acquired. The Kaiser turns east.
Leopold! Hire me a company or two of mercenary spearmen. I will pay the costs out of my own pocket.
Shall do old chap - any chance you could weigh in on the small matter of excommunication? There aren't many of us left to decide but the Kaiser should certainly have his say...
OOC: Working on a Diet post to that regard as we speak.
Taking the save.
And here it is
Leo went merc crazy this turn. 2x Merc Spear for the Kaiser (who is picking up the 1320 florin tab), 1 x Merc Spear and 1 x Merc Xbow for Premysild, 3 x Slav Mercs, 1 x Merc Xbow and 2 x Balkan Archers for himself and a town militia recruited in Wien for a grand total of 4,289 florins for his own account.
He's going to use those troops to a) fight off the Magyar who are sneaking into Austria from the south (and ignoring Jens Herden who is besieging their capital) and b) avenge Helmut Becker by retaking Innsbruck from the Milanese.
Osterreich is going deep into the red for the Reich.

EDIT: Save.
Vaclav was joined by a unit of Town Militia from Nuremberg and then positioned himself to "threaten" the Polish army from the rear. They seemed rather nonplussed by the movement, but were apparently ready to welcome him into the jaws of death.
