Forgive me I thought there had being time for a particular intelligent person to discover the spies without our midst. Since there was no time to do such a thing it is most suspicious.

Could be a lucky shot, I'd hate to penalize someone for being competent. It's just that he said the words "persian" and "spied" and he didn't mention the spartan spy. Why would he only be focusing on the one spy, instead of the other?
Only the Spartan spy would have a single-minded interest in the Persian spy.
Perhaps the Spartan spy admired the Persian's firm, tight buttocks.
Caught you red-handed! Errr.... red-faced! Red something! Spartan-y! Very Spartan-ish!
Sparty?
Spartastic?
Let me try again.... how Spartan of you, Spartan!
Or that it's a slip of the tongue/typist's fingers. Probably played too much 'I spy' as a kid.
So, you admit you've been training as a spy since you were a young greek, sir Chimpy. A confession! You might as well spill the rest of it. Don't make it worse for yourself. We know the Spartans train as young children to fight like men.
Somehow, this doesn't sound like a slip of the tongue/finger/wrist. It sounds quite eloquent, in fact.
I note that my single, red-faced "vote" for you made you a bit flustered. You felt the need to respond to my randomosity?
I think the reasoning here is shaky at best. But it's worth a shot.
And such eloquence is capable from a Spartan spy? I had to pick 50-50 between the persian and spartan spy to label robbiecon for RP purposes, a Spartan being stylish and fashion conscious? Dionysus laughs upon that day! Tiberius of the Drake and Captain Blackadder also happened to label someone as a Persian spy, but where is the pressure on them, instead you're letting them hide within this bandwagon, based on your gut?
I see you deliberately misconstrue my response to put more pressure on me, you know perfectly well that it was a poor choice of wording. I could similarly lambast Yoyoma for posting a poem first, yourself for posting in 'Spartan' red, if I wanted to construct more spurious cases.
As to my response it's not scummier than the other people who also made a post with a decision in the first round. When I can and cannot get on here is not as freely as whenever I need to so thought I had better get a vote in regardless, since it would be random anyhow.
Also: a tell is far less subtle in this game it seems: with the power of hindsight, read robbiecon's post. Now that's a tell.
You mean this? I already commented on how unnatural it sounded here:
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...post2053256554
This was his other comment, trying to put suspicion on me based on silliness.
And my response.
To be honest, I don't see where the tells are, nor would I expect to find any from him, seeing as he didn't know who his spy friend was in the first place.
However, I appreciate what you're saying here, and I am still mulling whether to place my vote elsewhere. Any suggestions?
This post here could be a coded response to the Persian spy, seeing as he keeps saying the word Persian.
If I were to read guilt into it....
But I feel this may be grasping at straws, really. It doesn't seem clear enough to be a code, but if it is, it is well disguised.
Captain Blackadder, Chimpyang, who did you vote for in the past two rounds, please?
As a matter of fact, I would ask everyone to reveal who they voted for in the past two rounds.
I voted for robbiecon (in spite of my red-faced Chimpyang.... I wished to surprise bandwagon Chimp's suspect so it would have the effect of possibly breaking ties. Also, how I feel about divided townie votes, I did something about it.) and then I voted for Skooma.
pick a target, I have to go to work.
I voted for Skooma first round and missed the second round.
And having returned from the pub, I missed the first round and then voted for Robbiecon.
I'll extend this round for another 6 hours as I'm still missing votes
If you don't know me by now.... you will never, never, never know me.
I play high-risk and I'm willing to lay down for the cause, but I'll still protest a silly lynch.
Now, you know what my reaction typically would be here, look at Robbie and Skooma and my votes for them. So either you like to live dangerously or you're not the scums we're looking for.
The only truly incriminating thing you've done is suggested I'm "rambling", which sounds like reasonless, directionless blather. I think you know that I don't do such a thing.
I have determined that Death is yonder for Death is yonder.
He's taking a backseat in this game, even though he talks much when he does post. Nice level of activity, is not "lurking", avoiding all the classic triggers.
And maybe out of the house the whole day after he goes to sleep till 8pm his time too which is about 14 hours? :clown:
Anyway, I voted Tiberius of the Drake on the first round, feeling that it was likely that the mafia on the first round would likely post BOTH rp posts AND citing randomness for votes.
Second round, I was in a hurry so I voted for Skooma.
Third round, I feel that my theory is at the very least, worth a shot, although I agree that its not a very substantial case, just a gut tweak.
In any case, correct me if I'm wrong:
You're suspicious if Blackadder's post was an attempt to find the other spy, so you now want Chimpyang and him to explain their votes, and for that matter, everyone else.
And you're saying that I'm suspicious because I haven't been giving off any scum tells. Oh darn, I give off scum tells when I'm scum and people rightfully suspect me, and I don't give off scum tells as non-scum, and people suspect me.
Oh dear, I really should stick to one category, perhaps Beskar's (always scummy) category, or perhaps the always not-scummy category
Not really :beam:
Was just clarifying your stand on Blackadder, and just generally lamenting the general ease in which I'm read in general.Quote:
my attempts to question suspects.
You'll understand post-game.
My stand is that everyone in the game besides me is a suspect. I've been consistent with that stand, because I've nearly accused every living player so far, and at least one of the dead.
After questioning and pressuring some suspects, they felt worthy of an extension, because they responded satisfactrily. Chimpyang in particular didn't really buckle at all under pressure, and I was almost certain I was going to lynch him.
You deserve some pressure.
Hey, is there anyone out there willing to own up to the votes that I got on round one, or did they just magically appear out of thin air?
Might have been my vote + dumb tally counter.
After all, I did vote for Tiberius, I noticed he didn't get a vote on round 1 so I surmise it must have been my vote that was changed.
Unless of course the dumb tally counter only switches the vote to someone with 0 votes making it 1 vote for a different person instead.
According to Beefy, the vote was not changed in such a way that it could have affected the lynch, so the dumb tally counter was NOT responsible for my 2 votes rouund 1.
That means someone here does not want to admit they voted with robbiecon to try to lynch me, and they're likely the scum.
Day 3 summery
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/414mP9EG8BL.jpg
At the end of the day, votes were counted..
It reads
ATPG 2
Chimpyang 3
Captain Blackadder 1
Death is Yonder 1
So Chimpyang was the choice today.
Chimpyang didn't hide nor flee.
Instead he drew his knife and charged at other influential figures... like a brave Spartan.
He was captured by all the Athenians and bashed to the death.
People of Athens joyed in the victory. In 3 days they have defeated their enemies.
Proving the effectiveness of the Ostracism system.
TOWN VICTORY!
Vote count
Robbiecon 2 (ATPG, Skooma Addict
Diamondeye 2 (I-K, Chimpyang
Captain Blackadder 1(Tiberius of the Drake
Ibn k 1( Diamondeye
ATPG 2 (Yoyoma, Classical Hero)
Tiberius of the Drake 1 (Death is Yonder. Vote taken away by the dumb tally counter)
Skooma Addict 1 (Captain Blackadder)
Chimpyang kills I-K
Robbiecon (Chimpyang, Classical Hero, Tiberius of the Drake
ATPG (Robbiecon, Yoyoma) Vote switched by the dumb tally counter
Skooma (Death is Yonder, ATPG
Day 3
ATPG (Yoyoma, Classical Hero
Chimpyang (DiY, Captain Blackadder, Skooma Addict
Captain Blackadder (Chimpyang
Death is Yonder (ATPG
Well, now I feel silly. :laugh4:
Should have kept my votes on my original suspects.
Poor I--K, the only one to be killed in this game. God work guys.
Well played, town! We rock :beam:
You seem to have a great interest in me, Yoyoma. :laugh4:
Wow an almost flawless victory is impressive given the votes were hidden. :applause:
Always nice to see the Town win some.
Woo! :beam:
Out of curiosity, was your choice of diction really trying to fish for the other spy, Chimpyang?
Thanks for the interesting game Beefy, the base concept was intriguing
On a similar note however, since this is an experimental game and you might decide to move forward on this:
The dumb tally vote counter I believe, seemed to be insufficient to counter vote revealing, such as when pizza called for votes to be revealed. As a voter whose vote was the directly affected one on the tally, it was easy to correctly represent the tally, the only deficiency being that you still didn't know who voted who if not everyone revealed. Perhaps in the future a few features could be tweaked around to suit what you are trying to achieve with the game system.
I thought the system was fine. You forgot to mention that dead players cannot reveal who they voted for in the previous rounds, this makes it even harder to reconstitute the tally. But even without dead players, the mafia can lie about their votes and the dump counter provides a good alibi. Dump counter + claiming to have voted with many other players = hard to figure who is lying, and you can't be sure if one is lying.
Afaik, the Town hasn't picked a mafia using vote reconstitution, right?
Choice of diction was purely accidental, I knew from the outset that I was playing against the Persian spy, and not with. With hindsight, next time that I'm mafia, I'll be much more careful to not attract attention. If you voted for me based on that lead alone though, then the town got lucky since the choice of words was just an idiosyncracy, somewhat like Yoyoma's verse
My strategy was to try and identify the persian spy quickly, although i chased some floppy red herrings around it seems, and when enough townies have died as a result of our kills, finish off the spy if I could, since there would have been no way of identifying targets that the opposition spy would pick, with the odds of me getting hit increasing as the game goes on. Once the persian spy was down though, it bought me less time to win the game, since the town can randomly bandwagon vig 2 people before there would be a guaranteed townie kill from me. My odds of surviving wasn't great when looking at how many phases I would be in the firing line for before the finish line was in sight!
lol glad I voted him last minute. w00t
EDIT: Poor Robbiecon never even got a chance to kill anyone. :2thumbsup:
I know and I do enjoy a good night kill Skooma.
I'm illustrating that it is a haibt of yours to use verse in the first post of mafia, it's a habit and personal marker of word usage that I would have said that sentence in the exact same way as I did.
