This is a ATPG game....who would abstain other then scum?:laugh4: Vote:atheotes
Shouldn't that be a Vote: Montmorency or a Vote: Ishmael, then?
FOS White yes
Nice dodge but I want atheotes to post a vote before I decide to do so.
Real men don't post "Abstain" either.:proud:
It is not just that you should despise me by saying such things, when my valor has thus far greatly exceeded yours!
Ever hear of "Discretion is the better part of valor"?:grin2:

And hello there too. ;)
So we visit people to maybe find out something about them? That could be handy.
Everyone should be visiting me at night.
I'm the innkeeper. I might know rumors and stuff. Oh, and I'll take your money and make you drunk, too. If you're gonna die, may as well be drunk when it happens, eh?
So you're a roleblocker?

You're the one asking people to visit you at night, fellow.
And
implies a roleblock ability.Quote:

Voting for a possible roleblocker without even trying to find out his alignment = not cool
Voting someone for restating clearly the subtext of their comments isn't very reasonable behavior.
I don't understand; if I tell you now that I can prevent individuals from being sent to the realm of the dead, and you ask, "So you're a doctor?", that would be fishing?*
Doesn't make much sense.
*Hypothetical; I am not a doctor
I'm not voting for you because you're fishing, but because you seem to be going after a possible roleblocker, which isn't a mafia-exclusive role (or even usually mafia).
I can think of several nefarious motivations behind asking everyone to visit him at night.
But I'm merely retaliating because he seems to be wagoning for a poor reason.

I don't like this wagon on Montmorency at all. It stinks. I didn't think the comment in response to Chaotix's innkeeper reveal was particularly 'fishy' nor his responses to the piling on of pressure. My switch to Jarema is for his shameless bandwagoning.
I do think Monty is role-fishing but that alone doesnt mean he is scum. FWIW he did the same when he was innocent in Buffy mafia and that is the only game i have played with him.
Eight minutes.
unvote, vote: Jarema.
I agree with Lazy. Montmorency always tries to fish for information and network, and his conclusion drawn from Chaotix's comment seems legit. The bandwagon was based on very flimsy evidence, and i wouldn't be surprised if there was a scum hiding in there somewhere.
I just checked this - does that mean that if nobody else changes vote Montmorency will be lynched?

Township of New Eden
8th January, 1612 A.D.
6:58 PM
"Then it is decided. Mont Morency, the Blacksmith, is most likely responsible for these strange happenings."
The Magistrate leaned forward in his chair, with a stern look on his face. "You're absolutely sure about this?" said Askthepizzaguy.
"Yes, we are, your honor."
"No, I think he's innocent!" said someone in the assembled crowd outside the Magistrate's office.
"Monty didn't do it!" said another one. The Magistrate raised an eyebrow.
"Listen, if you aren't completely certain, then we shouldn't resort to such drastic measures." said the Magistrate, motioning toward the dissenters standing outside.
"We've taken a vote, and the people have decided. The Blacksmith is not just a forger of metal, but a master of the black arts. He twists God's word just as much as he bends iron. He's not a man at all, but a demon, a foul creature in disguise..."
"Very well, I get the picture. Judged by the honest citizens of this town, I can accept your testimony that this Blacksmith is not what he appears, and I am authorized to sentence mister Morency to a swift and terrible demise. Use whatever means necessary, and destroy the creature. May God have mercy on us all..." said the Magistrate.
7:13 PM
Blacksmith's shop
Mont Morency slammed the hammer down repeatedly, striking the hot iron as he held it with his tongs. The loud noise prevented him from hearing the sounds of the crowd which had gathered outside his shop. He was focused on his work when they came inside, grabbing from the walls and shelves various instruments, some sharp, some heavy and blunt. They were upon him before he knew they were there.
In a moment, an iron poker slammed into his shoulder, cracking the bone, and forcing Monty to drop his hammer and tongs. The item he was forging, the blade of a sword, clattered to the ground, still glowing hot. Gasping through the pain, Monty asked the violent crowd...
"Why? What have I done? Why are you doing this?"
The crowd would not answer. Instead, there were murderous shouts, crying out for blood, and unintelligible screaming. The beating, the kicking, the slamming, and the poking continued, until Monty's bloodied and battered body could barely move.
"Finish the demon! Don't let it get away!"
One member of the crowd grabbed a heavy, padded glove-like item, and grabbed the glowing hot sword. Monty tried to crawl away but the executioner wouldn't have it. In one terrifying moment, the hot iron blade slammed into his back, piercing him all the way through. Monty screamed pitifully, and grabbed for a nearby chair, trying to pull himself away. When the blade was pulled out, he found his strength leaving him... and he collapsed against the chair, dropping his powerful arms to the floor, limp and unresponsive. One further swing of the blade, and Mont Morency's head was separated from his body.
"The demon has been slain! The demon has been slain!" shouted a member of the crowd, victoriously.
"Not even the spawn of Satan himself could survive that...." said another, agreeing.
"What have we done...." said a member of the crowd, further back. Not everyone was celebrating. At least a few people in the crowd seemed shaken by the events, and turned away without saying anything.
"It's not over...." someone said.
Their nightmare was only beginning.

Night ends in 24 hours. Remember, you are allowed to send in a night action of "visiting" someone even if you do not have a power otherwise.
If you have a power, you may visit the person you use your power on, and no one else... Or you may visit someone without using your power.
Because that always works.

Just hypothetically speaking, if my vote had tied affairs would that have still meant Montmorency was lynched (as he was the first to the highest vote count)?
I believe so.
Yes. A lead change has to take place for someone besides the original leader to be lynched.
Example of vote switches and how they affect the lynchee, in chronological order-
Candidate A = 4 votes (leader)
Simple lead = lynchee
Candidate A = 4 votes (still leader)
Candidate B = 4 votes
Was in the lead, but now tied = lynchee
Candidate A = 4 votes (still leader)
Candidate B = 3 votes
No longer tied but still leader = lynchee
Candidate A = 3 votes (still leader)
Candidate B = 3 votes
Vote removed to create another tie, but was leader before vote switch = lynchee
Candidate B = 4 votes (new leader)
Candidate A = 3 votes
New leader = A is not lynchee anymore
Candidate B = 4 votes (still leader)
Candidate A = 4 votes
Even if return to status quo, new leader is lynchee.
I'm under time constraints, so I'm extending the night phase another day. I encourage everyone to send in actions or at least let me know that they abstain from doing so.
Thanks for your patience, we'll get into a rhythm and get rolling soon. 5-6am is too late for me to be processing orders.
Round will end by midnight today.
What's that in AEST (GMT +10)?
His time is GMT-5, so work that out for yourself.
[Obvious WIFOM]I abstain from taking actions tonight, Pizza[/Obvious WIFOM]
I abstain from posting the writeup until I've had a nap. You wouldn't believe the nonsense i went through at work today.
Sleepy time then writeup.

Township of New Eden

"Lord, protect me from harm and watch over me tonight." said LazyMcCrow.
He stepped cautiously, careful not to make any noises. He was clearly trespassing now, and turning back could be just as dangerous as going forward. But he was compelled to continue his mission...
Closer and closer he crept, until he was just outside the bedroom window. He looked inside to see if a creature was stirring, and he could see nothing. Slowly, he sneaked around to the back door of the house.
He stepped quietly on the porch steps, and slid the crowbar in between the door and the jamb. With a few strong tugs, the back door cracked open.
LazyMcCrow stood silently, waiting for any sign that he had been caught in the act. Slowly he turned, step by step, inch by inch... into the house he went.
He noticed something unusual about this house. There were weapons hung against the wall in every room, some kinds he recognized, some he did not. LazyMcCrow raised the crowbar above his head... he heard something in the next room.
It sounded strange.... almost like a powerful animal devouring a meal. He took another step closer, and the floorboards creaked loudly. Suddenly the animal noises stopped, and LazyMcCrow froze in place.
"....Jarema?" whispered LazyMcCrow.
.....................
The door to the basement tore off its hinges, and a large figure stepped into the dimly lit living room. The figure was breathing heavily, and drooling. It was holding something.... LazyMcCrow took a step backward, trying to step out of sight, but the figure saw him, and began screeching incomprehensibly. The figure charged forward and began beating LazyMcCrow with a large metallic object, knocking the crowbar out of his hands. The figure snarled, and began clawing at the prone LazyMcCrow. Suddenly, LazyMcCrow heard a loud gunshot, and he was sure that he was dead.
But he felt his body, and he was mostly unharmed. The dark figure was standing over him, roaring madly. The gun fired again, smashing furniture and breaking various items. LazyMcCrow didn't think twice and bolted for the nearest window, and kicked the glass as hard as he could, diving through the opening just as he heard terrible noises catching up with him. He ducked as he heard another gunshot, more out of instinct than anything else.
He didn't look back, but if he did, he would have seen a pair of red eyes watching him from inside the darkened structure.
LazyMcCrow survived.

All results should be out, if I missed you please PM me.
Well - The 'I'm innocent you know' comment that Jarema made seemed almost SO blatant that I thought he might just be telling the truth.
But my snooping has obviously laid that lie bare.
I don't know who also visited Jarema's house last night, but it is clear I owe you my life - even if you did not manage to kill the beast that is pretending to be Jarema, you saved me and I am grateful.
Let us do what we should have done yesterday and lynch a demon instead of an innocent.
vote: Jarema
Are we to infer from this that Jarema is mafia, or am I missing something?
No - not mafia per se - you know - just some slavering demonic beast.
Of course mafia! I thought the wagon on Montmorency was fishy and I had either Jarema or Double A to pick from as waggoning scum. Looks like I got lucky. I do not have any powers, but thought I would try to sneak a peek at Jarema and if it hadn't been for some kind of solider/hunter I wouldn't be talking to you now.
Sorry, I have this habit of stating/questioning the obvious sometimes . Well, unless Jarema comes up with a very good excuse, I suppose I should vote for him.
vote: Jarema
I had a good laugh at this.:laugh4:
Pizzaguy hates absolute scans, your going to need more to convince me that Jarema is scum.(can't discount it though)
I mean if you look at the write-up, it seems to be telling it from LazyMcCrow's perspective. All I see is that LazyMcCrow is a little crazy.:hide:
But it does seem like a mechanic with suitable balancing - presumably, judging by the write-up, if you visit mafia and don't have somebody protecting you then you'll die.
EDIT: And White Eyes, I'm very disappointed that you didn't make a 'Crazy McCrow' pun. :beam:
What strikes me as odd, is that we have no idea what the "Darklings" do.*Uses finger quotes*
I keep rereading it and while LazyMcCrow strikes me as a little crazy, I can't deny that Jarema is scum. Could there be some kind of possession mechanic going on?:book:
Personally speaking I think it would be best to vote for Jarema at this point but do not pile on enough that it can't be reversed if he comes up with something very good.
Vote: Jarema
I didn't 'Scan' anything - As I said, I don't have any powers. Was I the only person to 'visit' someone else last night? If all you see is that I'm a little crazy - fine - let's lynch Jarema and if he doesn't turn in to a red-eyed drooling servant of Satan when we slip the noose over his neck, then I'll take an appropriate treatment of leeches.
I visited someone and got nothing from my one.
If Jarema were scum, why wasn't he out killing. Also, Interesting to note is that there were no kills last night...
Before speculating further, i would like to hear what Jarema has to say.
Vote: Jarema I would say that we should be careful visiting each other at night if it triggers the demons.
The only thing that I could think of was similar to Auto's game that with some players visiting them may result in you converting to the scum. There will be something where visiting certain players results in bad stuff happening. It is simply a question of pro's and cons if Jarema flips scum then it has being worth it if not then we shall have to see what happens.
vote:Jarema on lack of any other good result.
I would tell you all that I konw (of course, I do not think everyone would believe me...). It does not sound very good for me. Maybe after my death town will use it
1. I wasn't in my house. I mean, I went to visit Chaotix. Description is vague, but it seems to indicate that I was not sure where I went. I do not know if you can meet someone in his own house if he went out? (does all night visits happen simultaneously?)
2. I am a gunsmith. Maybe this is why there is so much weapons in my house. MAYBE even I saved you when I returned home...
3. Anyway, I have no info about anything happening at my house. I have 3 hpothesis about it:
a) I was out and this is why I do not know anything. It just happened, that a beast and two others visited me at night
b) I am a beast, but I do not know about it. Some kind of werewolf who thinks he is normal townie...
c) some ability, similar to bus driver, switched some results
EDIT: there is also a notion, that even mere presence of darkling can drive people mad. Maybe it has something to do with it?
I will vote: Chaotix because my visit at his place either didnt success or something strange happened there
I don't buy this wagon on Jarema, seems too "lucky" for a visit to scan the mafia and then in the write-up refers to it as a "large figure"...
Since Lazy was visiting Jarema's house, in he dark he simply called out his name...
Ima Vote: BSmith because I don't like lurkers :D
Could Jarema have been protected and Lazy was the attacker?
How am I lurking? The day just started a few hours ago!
Coincidentally I visited Lazy last night, but did not learn anything from the visit.
I suppose that might seem possible if one hadn't been paying attention, but seems a bit unlikely, given that I switched my vote from Montmorency to Jarema on Day 1: calling him out as bandwaggoning scum, not to mention the fact that it says in big letters in the write-up that 'Lazy McCrow Survived' implying that I was the one attacked.
I think either Lazy McCrow was possessed or Jarema was when you went to visit Chaotix. It is clear that the Mafia need to kill by framing people for the lynch, unless they just skipped a kill or something. I am thinking they get to either kill or frame but not both and I am not sure what happens if they are "visited" during the night.
I am going to Vote:Chaotix because I think Jarema was framed.....I hope I am not proven wrong though.:sweatdrop:
It would be too obvious if it was Jarema... I think what happened is this:
Jarema left his house to go spy on Chaotix.
Lazy McCrow was trying to go spy on Jarema (going to his house).
The attacker was trying to attack Jarema but did not find him home. When Lazy McCrow turned up, he was attacked instead. Jarema then came home and saved McCrow.
This means that Jarema probably isn't on team with the beast in the writeup, and neither is McCrow. I don't think we can say anything about Chaotix.
I am going to Vote:Classical Hero again today since he was the last person to join the Jarema wagon and his post is pretty scummy with scum on top.
I mostly agree with Diamondeye, but I don't know who was the guy with the gun...
Could be Jarema (he does have weapons at home, but didn't seem like firearms and a townie strolling around with a gun scares me :P), maybe was another visitor: no idea...
It's tricky what Jarema is saying about his visit to Chaotix:
Just wanted to hear from you :DQuote:

If Jarema had returned and saved me from the beast then he would surely know about it. The only other thing that seems likely is that edse's words of caution concerning the danger of 'visiting' people may indeed hold up. You'd need to be able to install a cast-iron curfew to test that out though.
I'm going to Vote: Chaotix, with Jarema getting framed...
