o.O I don't even know why people is voting rickinator, the only one having a valid reason is Ishmael, in his mind... ricky's vote was the third or fourth of the previous round, the incidence of his vote was almost non exitant...
DF breakinng the tie was bad but worse with Chaotix revealed, in this situation I don't think it is wise to give him the benefit of the doubt. Vote: Dearth Feather

Hunt for The Fox
End of Day 2!
The voting was much less fragmented and more decisive than during the first day. There had been two murders happening at night and if anything they strengthened the resolve of the town and reinforced them in the belief that they had to keep up what they had started until this whole thing was over. The man that had appeared late to yesterday's meeting and had then sentenced one of the innocent among them to death was the center of attention.
To make matters worse the woman he had defended the other day had turned out to be a killer herself and after a few arguments had been exchanged he concluded himself that killing him was probably the best course of action. Shrugging he stepped into the middle of the crowd at the end of the day, closing his eyes so he didn't have to see the mayor's large bodyguard approaching with a sledgehammer. In the end a pile of smashed head was all that remained of...

Hunt for The Fox
Night 2!
Many of the townspeople had retreated home early after a disastrous day looking for various ways to forget the guilt of killing another innocent member of their community. This man was no different. He had tried to read something but he couldn't concentrate, he was both disturbed by the events of the day and afraid of the night so finally he settled for some mindless distraction and turned on the TV. He was lucky. There was a program he liked and the lighthearted humour was actually working on him, soon he was laughing and he got himself a beer from the kitchen. Both the guilt and the fear seemed to have gone at least for now.
On his way back from the refrigerator just when he was about to sit down again he heard a knock on the door. Cursing he put the beer down and quickly grabbed a robe from the bathroom. He wasn't exactly presentable but he didn't care. He didn't plan to invite anyone in. He hooked the door chain in, opening the door just a crack but that was enough. With a loud crashing noise the door flew open, ripping the chain from it's fixture and sending him flying onto his back. Moaning in pain he tried to lift himself up off the ground and regain his orientation but his attacker was already on top of him. He saw the crowbar come down at him just early enough to lift his arm, protecting his face but breaking his bones instead. The attacker kicked him in his groin, making him writhe in pain before continuing his ferocious attacks with the crowbar, this time without any resistance.
The whle thing was over quickly and the mysterious man left the building through a window as some doors in the stairway were opening, people being alarmed by the noise. A woman was running over from the other side of the hall, looking through the open door, her eyes wide open as she covered her mouth in shock. "Oh no... No!", she cried to her husband, "Look what they did to..."

On the other end of town a man was taking his dog for a walk. He was afraid as well but what could he do? He was trying to get his dog to hurry up so he could get back inside but just today the old boy seemed to be in no hurry at all. Suddenly the animal was barking, looking into the direction of a small park, wagging it's tail. "No... No, boy, we're not going there tonight, we..." he didn't get any further, the dog was suddenly running, pulling the leash so hard and sudden that the man let go and had to run after his dog. "Stop!", he had to enter the park, "Stop, boy!", he looked around, his eyes getting used to the darkness away from the streetlights. "Where are you?" He cursed and then heard a noise to his right.
About 20 metres away he saw a shadow rushing away from a small body that lay lifeless on the ground. "No...", he whispered and was about to either crawl to his dog or follow that crazy animal murderer when he was grabbed from behind, a strong arm choking him, not letting go, no matter how hard he fought back. He had no chance, slowly the life left his eyes and he stopped his failed attempts at breathing, sliding to the ground, his attacker leaving him there to be discovered in the morning. The park attendant knew his face, he had often seen him there with his dog...

The local tavernkeeper was about to lock up the bar and start cleaning when the little bell over the door announced another customer. "We're closing", she said, without looking at the door but she could hear steps approaching the bar and as she turned a man was sitting on one of the stools, smiling at her. "Oh, come on, just one drink." She wasn't sure. "Hey, I had a tough day", he looked at her pleadingly. "Alright, alright", she smiled. The man looked nice enough. "What do you want?"
"Scotch." She nodded, that's what she'd thought. She turned around, reaching for the bottle and pouring him a shot. "So, why are you still out?", she queried as she put the glass down in front of him. "Oh", he shrugged, "I've been out, looking for someone."
"Found them?"
"Not yet, at least not quite", he shook his head and downed the whiskey, reaching into his jacket, "but I guess I'll settle for less then." She looked at him, confused until he quickly pulled a gun out of his jacket instead of the expected wallet. "Much less", he remarked, a contemptuous look on his face as he pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger.
The next day she was found and the mood was growing dim. Everyone had known the sweet lady and most of them liked her...

Can you explain your vote for montmorency and why you said "give the kid a chance" when you voted for him.
Wasn't that just him trying to let the new player (outsider) get past the first round?
and... beaten to the punch :P
Ah must have missed that bit where it was his first game.
Have either of you got any opinions on who we should lynch today?
Welp this sucks. I miss a day phase and come back to find I'm dead. Oh well. Have fun everyone else
well, out of those who voted mont of day one only myself, ricky, and outsider remain alive.
So ricky and outsider are good targets :)
As far as posts are concerned, this one strikes me as one with TMI
Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see the basis for saying that in the write-up, but for mafia to put something like that out seems like it would draw too much attention. So I am leaning towards putting el barto on the safe list.
Honestly count, I am finding you the most scummy. You acknowledged the argument against your vote but let it stand without any continued support, seems like it might be an attempt to just slip by without rustling feathers.
vote:countarach
I assume El barto is basing it on the following:
Certainly I took it the same way and we had been told that the write ups would have clues about what happened in them.Quote:
I've been out, looking for someone."
"Found them?"
"Not yet, at least not quite", he shook his head and downed the whiskey, reaching into his jacket, "but I guess I'll settle for less then."
And I see why I am being voted for. I have let any sort of attempt to refute it slide because quite frankly I am using essentially the same argument against the people I am voting for. Rather than looking at people like myself who indirectly allowed Chaotix to live, however, I am going for those who were more proactive in seeking someone else to lynch.
So we got.ten players left, two of whom are scum. Hmm, I dont know i have been checking the old posts and there doesnt seem to be much to analyse. However, I have to agree with the nightbringer in that countarach seems to be the most suspicious. Maybe its because of the creepy name :-) so,

What's up, guys, no interest in killing anyone? :cool4:
Wait... again, now I don't know why people is voting CountArach, the outsider and/or edse, curiously Visorslash suggested those names yesterday too, the three and I wonder why...
When Monty and chaotix were tied at 2 votes each, was Nightbringer who put Monty in the lead, then when they were 3:3 CountArach voted Monty, unvoted and voted the outsider... for joining the wagon too?, pressure vote to the new guy?, I don't know!
The outsider fault was be to naive and join the super wagon on Monty. Edse, I don't have a clue why, he voted chaotix if I'm not mistaken...
Somebody care to explain?
The big question in my mind is who/what our third killer is. We have the fox and one fox hunter, but who is the other killer. For now, I still vote:rickinator

Yes, never mind his pretending not to notice poor Barto is dead. :stare:
I'll make a ghost-request: vote Arach.
Do me this favor.
Edse would not typically vote to save himself.
Where Arach is, it's time to prepare for work.
Where Rick is, it's time to prepare for bed.
Arach will likely save himself unless you act.

Hunt for The Fox
End of Day 3!
Today was different from the last day, more akin to the first day of voting. The townspeople couldn't agree on a single target for lynching and the votes were split up between several candidates until three of them appeared to be in a deadlock. Some of the men sighed, reminded of that fateful moment two days ago and it really seemed like history would repeat itself all too quickly. Three men were staring at each other in the middle of the crowd. Three men were ready to fight to their death.
The mayor looked more nervous than ever before and his bodyguards were ready to deal with anyone who would start to question this method of seeking justice. "Is there", his voice failed and he had to fight to regain composure, "is there no one who is ready to make a decision?" He looked around pleadingly. Finally a man stepped forward. "Alright, I vote for..."
"Wait!! Then I vote for this other guy!", another man chimed in and the mayor looked at him, sweating and shaking. The guy kept screaming. "Yes, this other guy, I'll vote for him again!"
"Sorry, friend", the mayor replied nervously, "you only have one vote and..."
"Really?", the face of one of the two tied men brightened and he screamed, "alright, then I change my vote! I vote..."

So I was right in that the rickinator was innocent afterall... By the way, you did a pretty good job of sorting out the mess that i made in that voting spree ;-)
Well, it's certainly interesting that Gaius popped in - after the day-phase proper had ended - to break the tie and lynch the townie.
As explanation: the day phase hadn't ended, there was 45 minutes left. As you astutely noted for CountArach, it is morning here. I hadn't voted and thus needed to. The vote is the townie's only action, and the lynch is the town's only weapon.
The vista which I was confronted with was of a three-way tie, all candidates that, as far as I was concerned, were almost indistinguishable from one another. I could have avoided the issue by voting for someone else. I could have escaped censure by following Montmorency's call for CA's execution, but Monty has no more information than anyone else. It was my considered opinion after rereading that Rickinator was more likely to be mafia than CA, and so I voted thus.
I apologise for being wrong, but you'll note that I did leave open the possibility of actually presenting a reason to me. So if you would like to, Montmorency, indulge me, why was CA a better lynch than Rickinator, based on the information that we had before the end of the day?
Edit: For that matter, Outsider, why was edse a better lynch than CA? You changed your tune both swiftly and whole-heartedly...
Edse was not a better lynch than CA, however i was almost certain that rick was innocent and since you chose to vote rick, i had to go for edse who seemes more scummy to save rick.
Ps. Also he really wants to get me lynched soo badly :-)
Fair enough, but why were you almost sure that Rick was innocent?
Just FYI I usually sleep quite late and so won't be able to make votes and comments before any of the deadlines so looking for me to defend myself in the final hour of voting just won't work. Also if you want to kill me that's fine, if you can't think of anyone better. I'll keep working for the Town after I die anyway. We just need more conversation.
I'd say Nightbringer, Arach and edse are all good lynches.
Hunt for The Fox
Night 3!
They had decided to stay in for the night, closing and locking all doors and windows. Still they were watchful, knowing who was out there and knowing that they might come for them. They didn't talk much and they didn't need to, they knew what to do and they knew what to look for. Or so they thought. When they were both looking other ways a cupboard door slid open silently and a figure slipped out, closing the distance towards a man who was currently looking out of a window, carefully watching the street outside.
"I'm right here", the figure said with an accent and the man turned around, instantly dashing forward but the killer was ready. He raised a crowbar and smashed it into the man's guts, dropping him to his knees. His own knee met the man's face and before anyone could interfere the weapon in his hand had crushed the skull of the downed victim. Quickly the killer dashed for the window, jumping right through the glass, closely followed by another figure.
In the morning the apartment was found empty except for the badly destroyed body on the floor. None of the men who were investigating the scene knew him and when his name was found to be Kyle Lewis no one could remember ever talking to him...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Unlocking the door to his apartment a man in another part of town was glad to finally be home. He closed the door firmly after coming in, locking it, even thinking about barricading it but then he had to shake his head over his own thoughts. Silly. He wouldn't be that scared. Sighing he went for the kitchen and grabbed a beer before walking into his living room.
He almost dropped the bottle when he switched on the lights and stared right at a man sitting in his favourite chair, aiming a gun right at his chest. "Sorry pal", the man said, "you had your last beer this afternoon."
In the morning he was found as well, shot three times but unlike the other dead person that night this one was recognized by quite a lot of the mine workers...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Again all the inhabitants of the town, or at least those who were still alive, convened at the center square, throwing accusations against each other around, ready to keep killing one by one until they had found all criminals and stopped this threat to their lives.

for the reasons stated yesterday.
FoS: both of you for not trying to do anything with the new information about edse.
I'm on my phone at the moment and I've got a busy day but I'll get to looking at the vote patterns later.
Are we past actually offering reasoned arguments now? I mean, Visorslash, you may well feel vindicated in that you voted for edse, but that doesn't render you necessarily innocent.
Autolycus, I would err on the side of caution: the fact that there were two kills, and the first was a mafioso, suggests to me that two killers remain. Lynch one today and the remaining one won't be night-killed. Two successful lynches at least will be needed.
Given that there are clearly two factions, I think that it is fair to say that no-one is cleared at this point.
With that in mind, pending a re-read of the thread, Vote: Abstain
That comment that we only need one accurate lynch was mostly a joke responding to the last days comment about there being more red in the murdered than the lynched sections, but it is true that theoretically the scum could kill each other off down to one and then, we could lynch that one.
Well, the only person edse voted for who is still alive is the outsider, and only visorslash and the outsider have voted for edse, so not much elimination can be done on that basis.
Plus, as gaius pointed out it looks like we have more than one faction of killers, so that confuses voting patterns as well since we don't know where chaotix and edse fit into that.
Hence, my vote for count arach based on his continued efforts to get others to be the finger pointers so he can just latch on.
Hey guys, since I won't be able to make the deadline tonight, I hereby extend today's phase by 24 hours. Voting closes Friday, Midnight CEST / 6 P.M. US Eastern!
So, you have more time. Use it well :verycool:
Just to address this, I'm not really sure what your point is here. Are you suggesting that I'm bandwagonning and only going with popular votes? Because I think you will find that that isn't the case at all. Rather, I've been one of the only people trying to spark conversation and get people talking. That's why I was asking people the other day whether or not they had an opinion. The lynch is the only weapon the town has and the only way to make an educated lynch is to have posts and voting to analyse. In turn, the only way to get those from people is to prod them until they start to recommend people.
So Vote: Nightbringer. Note as a defensive vote but because you are trying to stifle conversation. With the apparent multi-faction nature of this game your previous voting of edse isn't a defence. Not only are you actively trying to kill me off for talking but your lack of a comment at the start of the day phase after the new information about edse came to light strikes me as suspciously wanting to go with an already agreed choice that was easily open to a bandwagon (i.e. me).
I still have been really busy but hopepfully the extended phase will give me a chance to come up with another recommendation if I can see someone better but until then I would ask you to provide some real analysis and also to defend yourself from the charges here. Please inform me why you find me suspicious as well given what I have said here.
Urgh I seem to have confused you with Visorslash in my haste. So ignore the bit about your previous vote and also your action at the start of the day phase.
I would also like an explanation from Visorslash about his vote. Voting without explanation is scummy.
