But is there any hope to see the mod before the release of MTW 2?
I'm holding my fists for your team (you) Luciano B! Can't wait to try it!:sweatdrop:
Can I try my knowledge of italian language a little? Luciano, di che citta sei tu? Io sono Sloveno e sono molto interesato a tuo mod. Penso che e il ultimo mod per noi historiani. He he. How did I do? Did I pass? :laugh4:
Hmmm, btw, will you also include Illirian tribe Histri located in Istria or just plane Illirians regardless of their tribe?
Histri were quite a pain in the ass for Romans. One whole legion was totally anihilted by them and when Romans finally managed to destroy them there was a great and longlasting triumph held in rome itself.
...I hope so, but I can't assure to release our mod before MTW2.Quote:

...about the addition of further factions, sadly there is a limit of 20 hard-coded faction slots, which currenlty are all occuped. The only possible solution is to provide different campaigns with alternative faction arrangements ...maybe in the future, when once the "main" campaign will be finished. I agree with you that an alternative faction chosen among the Histri or the Liburnii may be a good and interesting addition.
Any news, Luciano?
...still working on the coding, and testing step by step the additions. I know that it's a boring answer ...sorry:)Quote:

No rush Luciano, I've been waiting a few years for this mod so I can wait .. so can others .. :shame:
It doesn't matter if WTMII comes out first, hopefully more interest in Totalwar series and thus revived interest in mods.
I'm working on a class system using BI religions, when MTWII comes out I'll try to adapt it .. just like every other modder but it doesn't matter if mods are based on RTW / BI only. They're still great to play!! :laugh4:

We will wait, oh Great One! ... ~;)
YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY TO YOUR MOD LUCIANO B???????
I SAY IT IS THE BEST MOD I HAVE EVER SEEN SINCE ROME: TOTAL REALISM
People like you make up the REAL meat of the Rome: Total War modding community..... I will ensure that I am one of the first to download your absolutely, near-perfect mod.
One question, I have a 256kb/s (actual dling speed 27kb/s) ADSL, which goes down to about 64kb/s (actual dling speed 7kb/s) after 500mb.
How big would the file be and how long do you think it would take?? Any approximate is appreciated.....
THANK YOU, YOU ARE A TRUE HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...I need a bit of relax, so I stopped for a day to work on the coding and I worked on a new regional unit reproducing a light spearman of the "Siculi" (Sicels), available in the center and the eastern portion of Sicily.
The reference material for the Sicel warriors is very fragmentary. The archeological evidence suggests a mix of native and Greek items and features. The Chalcidian helmet comes from a Sikel tomb found at Adrano. Greaves and a leather belt with a bronze clasp covered with deocrated bronze plates were common among Sicel warriors. Some bronze statuettes depict belted spearmen with a short torso protection which ends just over the abdomen. The available sources report that the Sicels wore long wool tunics in ochre color, and used leather armour. The decorative motivs in use among the Sicels reflect the influence of the Greek art.

Impressive as usual! :2thumbsup:
I can't wait to see the full version of the mod...
And I think that "Paenisula Italica" will still remain needed by a lot of people even after the release of MTW2. I doubt that the first realism mods for MTW2 will appear quickly, and I myself simly can't play vanilla TW games :sorry: (BI and especially those giant purple men with huge hammers - Jeez, it was... err... a disaster! )
So keep up the good work, Luciano! We need such polished an historically accurate modification!
Just a couple of units added to complete the Sicel roster.

WE WANT A RELEASE CANDIDATE!!!
Release Paeninsula Italica - Radices Imperii RC1
100% agree with theRTWGuru!!!
It's time to show those pathetic romans, greeks and other barbarians the true power of Mighty Carthage!!! :charge:
Hey Luciano, is this mod is still alive?
There were no new posts niether here nor at TWCenter for a long time...
Yes, obviously the mod is alive ...we are working in silence...
Keep up the good work guys.
Do you think this one will be portable to M2TW? Apparently the only things you cannot do is create new meshes and skins but you can edit current ones, and edit script files.
One nice feature in the building script file, you can change building types - Convert_to ... so King's palaces can convert to people's senate etc .. SWEET!! Also, you can create as many events as you like!!! DOUBLE SWEET!!

Excellent work guys, really! All units look nice, but the most smart, amazing, innovative thing is trying to give a realistic image of the ancient city like Rome- I think it's the only one you've made. I'm tired to see cities in square walls in TW. And I wonder how nice it would look if for example in M2TW the had made a good representation of Constantinople for example.
Let me say that your work is really phantastic and that it should be wonderful to have the occasion of playng this mod!
But is there anybody who knows when it will be probably ready or maybe there is still some downloadable beta?
Wonderful!
I'd love to see this beautiful mod having a hosted mod forum here, however, rather than just having a thread.
Thanks gentlemen.
We are working hard to complete the mod ...but I can't provide any "official" release date... our team is in a "reorganization" process to optimize the remaining work and to find new forces to speed-up the whole thing.
About an eventual dedicated forum-section, I would be glad to have one here in this board...

This mod looks fantastic. After my latest reading around the subject I am really interested in the very early Roman republic and its expansion. It seems this mod will portray the period very accurately and with great looking units. Keep up the good work :2thumbsup:
Thanks Barbarossa.
...here a couple of horsemen, to complete the Illyrian set of regional units.
Northern Illyrian cavalry, equipped with javelins, axe and pot helmet, as depicted in the Vače belt; leather corslet reinforced by metal studs.
