Well, this is interesting stuff and being new I was reading the old mafia game threads to get some idea what's going on. I will stick to my initial strategy before the 1st round voting actually started. I don't think I can make any enemies or maybe any friends in the 1st round. :inquisitive:

I don't really feel it wise to lynch on the first round unless there is some substantial evidence - it's always the town which loses a player. I've only seen one occasion when they have not.

Just a clarificaton to avoid any confusion: Roles were randomly assigned before I sent the pm's. Zorg already had his role assigned to him before I declared the game open. I just had to re-sent his pm. Same thing happened to Hepcat.
I´m playing this game for the first time. I don´t see any suspects so far (I´m still trying to figure out what qualifies as suspicious behaviour :book: )

I have questions regarding the voting rules and particularly this:
In case of a tie, the day will last until the tie is broken. If the tie lasts for more than 24 hours, one of tied players will get random lynched by the host.
So ... How long is a day?
I take it is 24 hours... If there is a tie (like now) when do you begin counting the 24 hours from that tie?
And how random is the lynch... Let's say someone has voted for a mafioso, would the chance of lynching this mafioso be equal to the other players in that tie?

I agree with Sigurd actually.
Partly as well because I don't like extending fases, it draws people (those that lose interest quickly) away from the game, hence why I had such a strict 24 hour rule.

If you don't want him killed, don't vote him or better, abstain. Voting someone who votes the same person as you is...weird.
Besides, saying that you don't want anyone killed and voting someone does make you suspicious. It certainly is not random.

Perhaps some people are busy. Or have not found anything of consequence to say. A multitude of abstentions would make it easy for the mafiosi to hide. I mean, 15 players abstain: that's almost half of us. Very easy to hide in that.
I've been considering the theory, that people who abstain are more likely to have a role. Reason being that they don't want to offend anyone with their votes and thus be less likely to be voted themselves.
On the other hand, the role people reading this might jump and start voting - more likely voting "for fun" or each other (known roles - i.e. mafia) to continue concealing their identities and seem .... innocent.
I don't think I have read a Mafia game where the mafia people were really outspoken at the start already and majorly making points to vote people.
FoS: FactionHeir - for a short, but interesting PM I just received from him.
A little eager to see a slaughter aren't you? If you have read previous games, as you claim, then I think that you may find that the town very rarely lynch a mafioso at the start. “It’s Ichigo sir.”
“Ichigo?” Andres seemed surprised. “What did he do wrong?”
“Eh, he didn’t do anything wrong actually, but eh…”
“Ok, ok. We don’t want to state that democracy has failed, do we?”
“Eh, no sir, off course not. It is the best…”
“So, it is within all regulations to say that Ichigo is offically a traitor?”
“Democracy has decided he is, sir.”
“He is no longer a mercenary than?”
“I think that statement is correct sir.”

The mercenaries cheered for their leader. Well, not all of them.
“Ichigo, you have been found guilty of treason and blahblahblah. Tie him up and bring him here.”
The mercenaries dropped the tied up Ichigo on Andres’s feet. Ichigo started to scream: "It's a failure! Democracy is a failure. It's...!" "Gag him", Andres said, "he's breaking certain regulations." The Union man nodded in agreement.
Andres dragged poor Ichigo into the bunker.
The screaming went on for hours. The mercenaries stared at the door in agony. Finally, Andres came outside. He was covered in blood, brains, pieces of bone…
He pointed his finger at the union man: “You, go inside and clean the damn place”.
“But…”
“You want me to come with you?”, the sadistic captain said with a big smile on his face.
“No Sir! Consider it cleaned sir!”
