Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Also, do I have to sit through that final cutscene + credits every time I load up the game now? Cos I want to get a few more flags, kill a few more templars etc.
EDIT: Ok, so the final cutscene +credits are gone but I just want to free roam now. Do I really have to sit through the intro to an assassination every time?
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
I finally beat it man was it fun. And I have one thing to say.
EXPECT ASSASSIN'S CREED 2
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
I heard it was going to be a trilogy.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
I heard Deus Ex: Invisible War was going to rock, too, but we all know how that went. Don't trust anything until you see it with your own eyes :tongueg:
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Im thinking about getting AC1, but will it work with Windows 7?
I keep hearing conflicting reports.

I can confirm that it does. It is a terrible port onto PC though (AC2 is even worse, I swear). If you have a console get it on that.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Ok so I got AC2, yet I have no idea how to run or jump. Or do anything really. Though fighting is smooth.
There is no tutorial, and Ive looked up how to jump but its no help. Im pressing high profile, yet I still cant jump or run, even when I press the button for legs.
Argh.

You are playing it on the PC right? I can't understand why you're having trouble....you need to keep the buttons pressed for parkour, and press and release 'the legs' button (instead of keeping it pressed) to jump. However Ezio jumps and climbs quite fine when free running.
And you can see if mapping the controls to arrow keys and num ,1,2 helps (1 for head, 2 for hands, 0 for legs)...I wasn't used to WASD, so changing it helped a lot.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Thats the thing. The directions it gives to free run doesnt work. As a result, I cant do parkour either.
This is getting frustrating.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Then that means you can't even run. And the tutorials are in the first mission in the first memory block. Just find Ezio's older brother and that'll start it.

Im at the part where you need to climb to the roof of the church. Whats frustrating is that I cant even go back to where I had to run to the brother so I can learn how to run.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
You might be able to find a log of what was said. Anyway 2.5 nanoseconds on google found a listing of the basic controls. If you set the default controls, hold the space bar (legs/feet) and that will allow you to climb.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Ive been doing that. Ive been trying all the different set ups for movement, nothing seems to work. Ive searched google for at least a half hour on how to do basic movements in AC2, but nothing useful has come up.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Right I just remembered something. You've got to hold down 2 buttons to climb/jump. And the tutorials don't tell you this. Hold down space bar AND either the right mouse button or F. Try both, but I'm reasonably sure it's F+Space bar. Which on the Xbox controller would be left trigger and A. Which is what I had to do to climb the whole game. And before you start flipping over tables in rage, it was designed to be played with a controller. And an Xbox controller can be used for the PC.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
I'm quite stumped as to why isn't it working for you with a keyboard. (Directional key + high profile) pressed together gives running. Press a third key with these two, the legs key (all three pressed together) and you get free running.
Edit:
You might want to try and map the 'legs' to something other than the space key. Just a suggestion, since space-bar sometimes does not work properly for me in games.
Also Assassins Creed games take a heavy toll on your RMB, due to the constant need for high profile mode...mine is pretty unresponsive now-a-days.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Thanks for the help. The problem was I wasnt holding down the right mouse button. Now Im bounding across rooftops like the rest of them.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
I couldn't find another Assassin's Creed thread, so posting this here. Freaky stuff I found in a blog over at the AC wikia.
A post on Ubisoft forums.
A credible source.
And a third painting.
Re: Assassin's Creed on PC
Wow thats pretty freaky, but heres the color version:
Not as freaky.

Why is that painting freaky?
