those elephants are simply overpowered. u literally are trying to kill it with a spear though what u need is a big game rifle
javelin men did a pretty good job against my elephants in wrath of the khan though. they actually were the only ones really afflicting any real damage on them. that was a non automatic battle however. yet an army consisting mainly of javelin troops might do the trick in automatic battles too. though it might take two or three or maybe even four armies to wrestle down one rajput army. or maybe even more. dont know. maybe Phonics will let us know when the crusaders are fighting them
Elephants have always been overpowered in autoresolve ever since RTW. Horse archers have always been underpowered.
You just need to play more strategically on the campaign map and choose your battles. Use forts to slow down his advance and bottleneck him, and use your production advantage to beat him in a war of attrition.
