Undisclosed generals? At the same times as others are working onm Gallic names? Hmmmmmm. I smell Belgae types.
No love for Nick?

Jep, this mysterious twitting smells of belgae
This isn't from Twitter but rather from the EB YouTube channel.
Woohoo!Quote:
Thanks for the praise!
@ JankoSRB, the progress is going steadily forward now, it has been accelerating these last months so we can expect a release in the near future. Stay tuned!
Great news! :)
That will be the most awesome christmas present ever!!!:laugh4:
And I'm getting a new Laptop in about 3-4 weeks :2thumbsup:
That´s a beautiful thought, but it isn´t realistic to think of a release before Christmas or New Year. But as we said, progress is steady and accelerating, and some areas which haven´t seen much action are getting addressed now.
We will tell you when we enter warp speed and a release is due, but not yet.
that sounds like first half of 2012, awesome!
Interesting tidbit:
The successful German game "The Settlers III" had an "Amazon" faction whose military strength relied much on bee farming.

Activity has been low these last weeks... Opportunity to work in diplomacy, start armies, traits and ethnicities for the new factions. ~JMRC
Start armies...does this mean the units that each faction begins the game with?
Yep.
Please not before mid-may 2012... got my final school exams then.
You know, I hope it's released on 21/12/12 just to spite you...
:clown:
Only if you don't build enough bars and brothels to balance them out.
Hmm... any news on the latter part?Quote:

do you smell what santa is cookin? :santa:
That's actually on my Christmas wish list, my family didn't get it... :clown:
If you were evil, you could release a 'installer or EB2' for the game that like changes the intro and the menu and nothing else :D
News indeed!Quote:
Working on the temple system and associated traits for the governors. Worshipping the Gods may sometimes give bad traits... ~JMRC
Nice to see more work done about the campaign ^^
Seems like some weak-minded family members might be a bit overinfluenced by ambitious priests. (Well, who wouldn't donate lots of money to the temple if a sheep's liver told the priest you would die?)

A carthaginian FM became worshipper of a lusitanian deity. He gets a penalty VS barbarians and now is losing loyalty and getting bad traits.
That "lusitanization" sounds very interesting :)
Especially due to the fact that the last years a few literary texts were found shedding some decent light on Sayhad religion, especially Sabaean. For long there was almost nothing but short inscriptions. But especially thanks to the new excavations of the Mahram Bilqis, we've got some decent stuff to work with. Sadly there have been few publications on it. Most what you find is out dated and often even still based on the now dismissed theories by Nielsen, or on Mediterranean centric views on ancient mythology.
Another news from twitter. This one is nice :)

Starting to list all of what's needed to play Baktria. - DeathFinger
News indeed, but not good ones, i suppose. Doesn't it mean that DeathFinger barely startet with the first brainstorming on Baktria?
Currently we're checking what still needs to be added to make the campaign fully playable. I'd say it's good news.
Though making it fully playable doesn't mean including all the planned gamemechanics, quite a lot of the more complex mechanics will be for later.
Ok i conclude that the work on unit roaster, generals etc. is largely done and DeathFinger is working on integrating it into the campaign. It was a bit ambiguous on twitter. To such an extent it is really good news, because finally it means that the work on the factions is coming to an end. Bridging the time with Hegemony City States, 3rd Age and HoI3 for so long.
I recognized. Thank you for quick reply. I'm not in 2012, either. If they are celebrating the new year on your cloud (where your mind is), i wish you a happy new year!
Another one
I can't wait to see this arabian faction and read about their history and culture :)Quote:

and yes, the first one has a sample from Kazakhstan (so in the EB map area), though most were from southern Mongolia.
Sounds like some work is being done to the Saba... or pausibly Nubia :DQuote:

Excellent. Every day they're modding.
It sounds rather Mauretanian to me. Has he left out Lord of the Flies? Ancillary: Piggy. Office: the conch-holder.Quote:

The new elephant model?
I think he was making fun of Ibrahim's comment about one of the 3 wonders of central asia. Notice the name of the picture file is 'Tarbosaurus bataar'.
I was trying to make a joke

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It's been ages since I read it but I still can remember most of it. Great book, one of my all-time favourites. The b/w film adaptation from the 60s is awesome too.
considering that that book granted the 1954 (?) nobel prize for literature it´s not just any book imho
Or suicide bomber parrots!

The future of EB?

historically their main problem was that you couldn´t have cavalry if you used those babies and if we consider that todays closest living relative to those beauty´s are the chicken then their original place of domestication south east asia doesn´t show up in our map wich brings in more problems in explaining and portraying the enviroment in wich they ended up being domesticated originally, most archeological evidences show that at the start they consumed only 1 virgin every 2 weeks per animal until people started to feed them with pigs and other mamals wich lead to an increase in their methabolic rate and their numbers increased dramatically wich caused demographic problems due to the competition for food most empires that used them where considered invincible but fell down due to internal problems because everytime there was a draught those babies revolted and started eating the peasents wich lead to popular outcry against the excessive budget of the army required to mantain those special units wich where inefective in amphibious attacks or against simple stakes in the ground
in many ways and in comparison with todays civilizations they could be considered the atom bomb of their day since the creation costs too much resources and once you use them you´ll be doomed in the short medium term so yes they look nice but their priçe goes far beyond their recruitment cost (/stupidity)
oh God, what have I unleashed? :shame:
what started as a sardonic remark, has escalated to a small meme! :embarassed:
EDIT: you know what, we might as well give it an EB-esque name, since the damage is done...
Tarbosauroi kataphraktoi maybe?
EDIT2: so any more news from the Twitter page?

No sources means they will be invisible. An extra challenge for the Baktrian player: finding his ninja FMs...
I read "Thundering Zeus" few months back and was really amazed by how the team even managed to have a baktrian faction :P
Great work DeathFinger! ^^
Finally some news about one of my favorite factions! Thanks devs
