lol, mooks finally made himself an SOT; though you got your rank wrong, it's Tribunus; there's no 'senator' rank.
Damn I was going to point that out.
Navarro, seeing as my legion has seen some action, can I have a unit of Principes now, and swap it for either a Rorarii or Hastati?
Ya thanks. Iv been too lazy to make one and decided to get it over with. There is some job applications on my desk iv been lazy with also, maybe I need to get on those. Thanks for the correction though.
Baen: I just read the stories thread. Nothing about ever rewarding you a Civic Crown. Navarro threw a low blow making stuff up like that. If I was roleplaying I wouldve never hassled you like that (Which was fun though, roman politics wasnt nice and its fun roleplaying that. Sorry if I offended you) if you just got done receiving one of those. We should really have some rules in place for this sort of stuff (So people just cant make stuff up in the curia if 2 or more have a arguement).
speaking of the stories thread, Baen still has two more unfinished stories that are posted there as placeholders!:smash:
perhaps you might want to ask about the principes thing in the curia when navarro comes online
Its not in the stories thread its in the Curia, just after Asina dies. When I finally catch up on all my stories i will write about it in the Frontline series when I do Segesta. To let it make sense I'll say I pulled him out, saved him, but he died later for some reason, injury or later fatal wound or whatnot.
Maybe say he was later killed by a knocked out barbarian? Maybe one of the naked ones?
A civic crown was no small deal back then. We shouldnt be giving those things away or giving them to yourself (at least without screenshots).
Personally I think its bad roleplaying on your part or navarros. Asina wasnt saved, and you have no screenshots saying you even tried to save him. Im not trying to personally attack you here.
Actually I presumed it was in my character retinue thing, but whats done is done. Never mind it. No one pays attention to me having one anyway. Personally I just think your jealous :clown:.
And yes, I know I have pending stories. But I have a lot of stories on the go, let alone my own book, and lots of school work. I'll try and finish the Rhegion one this weekend, though its peeing me off, so its not going to be long or in much detail I'm afraid. I just want that one out the way.
Nah im just a history nerd and like to argue about it. That and when I roleplay I roleplay. I take it all the way for some reason, one of the reasons I love playing in depth RPG's (baldurs gate, morrowind etc).
If you want to know just how important Civic crowns were back then. This site gives pretty good info
http://www.dl.ket.org/latin2/mores/military/coronae.htm
Also im used to forums where people curse and smack talk. I also find that amusing for some reason. Dont take it personell if I attack your character.
yes, ill take one of your Rorarii and use it for Legio III and give you a principes.
If you saw what i said in the Curia, Cotta pulled Asina from the battle alive and he died on the surgeons table later. In essence, yes he did save him alive. Yes this is partly for good RP purposes! There is no pic, but what I know is that Asina's death was not reported till after the battle leaving me to relay this as an RP or actually just plain fact. Who knows its the game engine i think it knows what its doing and well have fun with it.
Get on, I win! Kiss my ring, Mooks. Kiss it!! :beam:
^^^HEHE! So your the Don now???
You can call me the Godfather...or Crime PIMP! muahhaha
Yes but you set yourself up as a Carthaginian lover in the Curia. Im going to have fun with that. You defended them pretty hard.
(Though im a carthaginian lover too though. Playing them as a campaign right now. The romans never attacked sicily, so I expanded into spain and east. Conquered Crete and the desert town below it. skirmishing with the egyptians so they dont get too strong and maybe conquer the whole turkey area maybe. Suddenly the romans attack sicily and I have 1 army depleted finishing up spain and the egyptians controlling the sea around crete (one 2 gold chevron badass ship with 2 other triremes = unstoppable navy). No suitable commanders around with the last generation about to die off. No real army around Sicily either.)
My character doesnt love Carthage...I just have morals
Guess I wouldnt make a very good politcian then :laugh4:
Do you know all of them personally? ;-) I'm sure, as it is today, some have morals and some have not.
Besides its not his sympathy for the Carthaginians, but guilty conscience about breaking an alliance, with the effect that Rome's word will not count as true anymore
What he said ^^
see, i know yourself better than you :laugh4: :laugh4:
Neither would I.
I see what your saying swissbarber. But how would you reccomend breaking the treaty and still play it off as roleplaying? Having them attack us? They are goign to do that anyway once we take the first city of Sicily.
Making of Cassi Bellum's is hard work.
why does everyone call me swissbarber? i'm no barber, i'm a barbarian, I'm here to savage, plunder and cut throats, not to shave, perfume and cut hair :inquisitive: :inquisitive:
I'd recommend to send a diplomat, RP that he tells them, not to send ships to our shores, and if they do, attack their fleet. thats how a war is started ^^ I'm a good politician *G*
Would have to be properly roleplayed, not just we sent a diplomat, they said no..so now we're at war
of course. this was just the short version. I'm a politician, not a poet *laugh*
Ya well, it was Cotta, and thats how it is hes the one with the award and sees fit considering this is an RP based game. If you ask me to hell with the issue of why, it makes for amazing stories and what not which as i always say is funner then the in-game play!
No I didn't, Navarro posted in the Curia that I had received it straight after the battle, and then you, Il_Duce, said you were the first to his body and pulled him out of the fight, which is exactly the opposite of what Navarro had said just one post before. I only laid claim to it after you because I was asleep when it happened, seeing as Navarro posted it when it was like, 2 or 3 in the morning here.
And aren't Legates allowed to have glory in battle? It's not something reserved for Tribunes. This game is meant to be fun.
yes, this game is meant to be fun, let us not discuss any more about the corona civica; though it is a rather nice ancillary and the only time I got it from a Romani campaign was at a battle which I kept charging my general's Equites Consulares and reducing it to around four men, then my general after the battle somehow got the "heroic saviour" and "corona civica" ancillaries..
I guess I hadn't seen the original post and thought Baen was just being a prick... sorry lol
Morrowind FTW!
1) Additionally, I would like to have a Forum thread created that would show unit awards/citations/battle streamers/triumphs - something that would glorify individual military units for their actions / dishonors (like say a legion being completely wiped out and therefore in dishonor [or honor if they were fighting valiantly against superior enemies like in 'The Song of Roland'] we never name a legion that number/name again etc)
These don't have to be awarded by the game, imo as I've never seen one whenever I've played; but they can certainly be RP'd by say, the numbers/colors of a units chevrons. Then, we could RP that the kickass hard core units are always in the van of a city assault, etc.
Just my two cents. Any takers?
2) Cotta, accolades to your steadfastness in honoring Rome's agreements. I hope to see you lose that argument; but well done indeed!
3) I actually haven't been calling you "Swiss Barber"; but instead "Swiss Babar" - like the French cartoon elephant. Yay illiteracy!

4) Portocello, check your PM's
