I'm not trying to screw with people though - I've got a victory, why not have one for everyone else as well?

Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
Night Twelve
Secura, Niklas, and Methos ran to the bathroom and saw that the mirror had been re-formed. In fact, with the death of the Demon, the entire house had been reset back to normal, including the furniture and things.
They waited for the other two, but it was obvious they were not coming, so they dove through the mirror to the other side.
Back in the normal universe, they rushed to the front door, unlocked it, and ran from the house as fast as their legs could carry them.
Back in the nightmare world, Diana Abnoba looked around for Winston Hughes. He was nowhere to be seen. Diana wasn't going to let him win the million dollars that easily....
She instinctively hid from sight, and plotted her next move.
Remaining: (2/17)
Diana Abnoba
Winston Hughes
Escaped from Murder Manor: (3/17)
Secura
Niklas
Methos
Dead: (11/17)
TheFlax (Night Three)
Double A (Night Four)
Renata (Night Five)
Centurion1 (Night Six)
Beefy187 (Night Seven)
Husar (Night Eight)
Captain Blackadder (Day Ten)
White_Eyes:D (Night Ten)
atheotes (Day Eleven)
Splitpersonality (Night Eleven)
Yeqon Lucifuge Caacrinolaas- YLC (Day Twelve)
Wrath of God: (1/17)
Thermal Mercury (Day Seven)
Day Thirteen.
This day will continue until one of you is dead.
Rules:
- Send me a private message indicating which room you wish to move to. Diana has already moved, so I am just waiting on Winston Hughes.
- Once I get your move, you will end up in a different room. You do not have to move every round, but you MUST tell me that you are moving and where you're moving to, or tell me you are lying in wait.
- If you both are lying in wait, you both will be informed. I will need both of you to move at that point.
- The game will end when one of you kills the other one. You will automatically battle if you end up in the same room.
- Who dies is dependent on total strength, which is based on the items you carry.
BEGIN.

Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
Hah, me and Secura were right. :laugh4:

Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
I knew, at least, one of you guys were going to stay. :laugh4: I could almost count on Winston staying, but I thought that Niklas and maybe Methos were going to stay as well. :sweatdrop: I was not going to have someone win by default. You will have to at least earn it, by fighting for it. :duel:
-
Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
Yup, totally called it.
Thank you for staying true to your word, Niklas; I'm glad to share in Marginal Defeat with you. :3

You do realize your about to spoil it for everyone, right? And Winston too. I should have killed both of you when I HAD the chance. Now I'm the only one who gets to win really :brood:

Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
Well, one of them's going to get Total Victory for beating the rest of us to the cash, right?
-
Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
Or they could kill each other off... :laugh4:

No.

My guess
What still bothers me is the significance of entire thing going backwards.

But your guess makes YLC's own post look like "wah, you ruined my victory!" rather than "why screw over the other townies like that?". :P

Three possibilities at this point -
1) Both leave, standard town victory, marginal victory for me.
2) Both die, standard town victory, standard victory for me.
3) One dies or leaves, the other takes the cash - total victory for me, none for you.
-
Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
I'm not surprised that Winston or Diana stayed, but I'm surprised that Niklas left.

You know what's weird about that?
Every option has a victory for you in it. :inquisitive:

I win by killing or letting you kill each other. With splits death, I earned myself a marginal victory. from there on, it just gets better for me the more you kill each other, and worse for you.

The third one doesn't make sense when compared to the second; I'll be keen to see exactly how it plays out if we're heading for that outcome. :3

The cash is a trap - being the last one alive gets you "repossesed". I win if I am the last one standing. Makes sense now?

While Niklas seems the greedy and opportunistic sort, he isn't dumb. He knew stay behind was a bad idea.

In all seriousness though, I totally love this idea; I knew a Pizza twist was coming somewhere, but never would've guessed it was related to the money itself.
No offense to our two intrepid survivors... but I hope you both die. I'd rather that instead of the alternative, which is undoing all our work in removing the demon. :P
EDIT: Or you both see the light and decide that your life means more than the cash... fleeing would be a good option too.

And I believe he was displaying great sportsmanship too; considering the effort I went into over the last few phases (the atheotes and YLC posts didn't take five mins, after all), I don't think he wanted to screw me over either.
I could have interpreted it incorrectly though and he was savin' his own bacon. :P

Maybe. Other than "good god why aren't you lynching YLC yet" I haven't been paying much attention to the game for a while.

What tipped you off o___O
Well, besides my constant references.

@Secura
Pretty speeches and pious sentiments - I am unmoved. We all came here for the money. Why else expose ourselves to such dangers in the first place? It's a pity you guys got so caught up in the demon hunt that you took your eyes off the prize, but I've got expensive tastes, and there's no way I'm walking out of here with a million smackers still sitting on the table.
@Diana
I'm glad to see someone had the nerve to join me for the last dance.
How does the Parlour suit you?

Re: Murder Manor III- Game thread
Honestly I have no idea, other than that Methos thing, which was so scummy it made my teeth ache. I didn't notice the references you mention; it was something about your tone, and what you chose to comment on.
(Edit: I hope the ending is as advertised. Go Winston! Strike a blow for all the greedy backstabbing wretches (and would-be greedy backstabbing wretches) of the world! Even if it does turn you into a demon.)

You are a fool, a blind greedy one at that. You'll make a perfectly good host. Enjoy your stay in Hell as I gleefully render your soul into my finest masterpiece yet.
DAnCe pUpPEtS, DAncE.

It pains me to have to respond in an out-of-character context, because this was sheer awesomeness, but I'm miles away from the house by now anyways, so...
To put it simply, what if YLC's telling the truth and you end up being his thrall, costing the town the game? At the end of the day, we're playing mafia; we nailed said mafia, the town has won. So then, why throw that away by killing off the town's victory over the demon... the outcome will be that one of you is going to end up spewing pea soup, spouting profanities and doing unholy things with a crucifix while your head turns a complete three-hundred-and-sixty degrees.
I'm rooting for YLC here.

Why, so you can be stupid and be possessed? You truly wish to jump into the black, infinite abyss that is my maw? You mortals have such weird ideations...

This was exactly the reason I left. I'm honored to share a marginal defeat with you as well.
Now let's hope the greedy bastards kill each other off. Go YLC!
