Trsut me untill IR comes out with there first release i'll probubly be coming back t his classic mod rather soo ~;) n.
Yeah, BI is NOT a substitute for this mod. Some of us prefer the mechanisms of MTW over RTW, and there are enough of us to ensure that there will be a market for this mod for quite a long time to come. ~
Belisarius.
i'm trying to make "Romanisation" building , but i don't know how to make it indistructible, this is quite difficult to do ... have you any ideas?
anyway in 3.1 there will be two new types of roman military building: the palatine and comitatenses barracks, without them it will be not possible to make military units.
about the other things you have suggested me i think that most of them would be inserted in the game, also i 'll correct some mistake like presence of caravels and mangonels....
cheers
max
Perhaps you could look to the MedMod 3.14. There was farmland 40% incestructible. You couldn't sell it. But unfortunately, MedMod 3.14 is no longer downloadable. I have it. I'll look to the building prod file and report to you. But at weekend earliest. But I'm not sure if I'll have time for it because I'll barely show in my home.
Could you have a look at Trebizond archers having lower prerequisites than Sagitarii? It also looks weird, that after construction of Master Bowmaker you can build Bulgarian Brigands. They aren't that good unit and their training in France looks odd.
That Romanisation building could also improve happiness and faith.
Shouldn't be Khazarians Jewish? In game they are Pagan.
About that Comitatus and Palatine. I think that this role (I mean prerequisite for all units) will hold Romanisation and West Romans also have troubles at training Good units. I counted each turn before I could train Auxilia Palatina in each region. Further prerequisities would make West Romans impossible to play.
West Romans could have unit Mercenary Legion with rather bad morale and quite high cost buildable in lots of provinces, but later, when you manage to build Comitatus and Palatine, you may train better (native, non germanized) Legions with lower prices and higher morale...
German tribes perhaps shouldn't be able to build high level buildings. I really dislike when playing like Byzantines, when temporary lack of money slowes down building construction, message like: Visigoths achieved unheard of level of development. As germanic tribes weren't on such level that they could build Citadels or even Fortresses. Unit prerequisites should be modiffied adequally.
I for one am eagerly awaiting latest version of this Mod. Rome and BI are a competely different experience, with fiddly campaign map and some plain ugly or garish graphics. Stick with it Max. Romanisation sounds interesting, but what I really want to see is new campaign map, new scenarios and new units that you have talked about. Any chance of a beta if final version is going to be some time?
Try this http://rapidshare.de/files/5087854/F...e-3.0.exe.html Go down the bage, click "Free" ... rest is pretty simple IQ test.Quote:

At this moment I am working on a new techtree for PMTW 2.0 so I say:
- you shouldn't make it affect faith, because most likely it will result in making it destructable,
- you shouldn't change the in-game coded name of the original VI structure, because most likely it is hardcoded that the building is impossible to destroy - this way there can be only one such building and Romanisation is a good idea.
BTW - I can't see the self-installer in my boss's computer, so I would be greateful for sending my this in e-mail on cegorach77@o2.pl
I like the mod and I would like to help, but I can't for now :embarassed:
Regards Cegorach ~;)
You cannot see it. You mus scroll down and Click FREE. You must have JavaSripts enabled (I have JS blocken in FF). Then just wait 30 seconds or click on link to download. It has almost 18 MB, so I encourage you to follow these steps as on my 256 kbit Wi-Fi it would take a while. If it will fail, I'll send it to you.Quote:

1) First, it is a brilliant mod and I have been enjoying myself playing as the Romans. The barbs have been coming at me since turn one and I especialy like the idea of using the crusades to initiate barb invasions (nice touch). Clearly, a lot of work has gone into this mod and it shows.
2) I have not read this entire thread and was wondering if the map places will be re-named as to how they appear in the parchments; and if the Roman forces will be getting dedicated (ie Roman-looking) pics for their leaders? This is cosmetic but would really add to the immersion factor.
I have just begun playing this mod and am enjoying it. I am looking forward to v3.1 :)
Also, thanks for the self-install exe - makes it much easier to install.
Cheers!
As an added comment:
I think Max mentioned that he might add an Attila Campaign to the v3.1 release. This would be greatly appreciated :charge:
Also, I think FoR could also be used by some modder to make a Punic War campaign between Carthage and Rome. Now that would be fun to play....
Cheers!
Well, you'll have to dowload it either, but from your mailbox instead. Just sending.Quote:

Forget it I was able to download it anyway ~D
I tried with romanisation, but it seems that if it is restricted to any faction it CAN BE DESTROYED :embarassed: still I think I can find a way around this problem.
I believe that by adding destructable building called 'roman administration' unique to roman factions and making it the major requirement for the real romanisation ( in reality 'forest clearing') I can still achive the goal you want to have.
Simply 'roman administration' will take one turn to build and having it will allow building romanisation in the province. 'Roman administration' will be unique to roman faction, but romanisation WILL NOT, so if enemy (non-roman enemy) invasion takes a province it will destroy ( overthrow - because it is restricted to roman factions) roman administration leaving romanisation intact because it is not restricted, but still impossible to build without roman administration anyway.
So it will be more complicated, but still good.
What do you think about it ?
I will try how it works and give you the details on Saturday.
BTW - in case you need my e-mail cegorach@wp.pl is better for now, for some reason I can't access my mailbox on o2, but it is their fault and temporary only problem, I hope.
I think I can help you more, if you want see screenhots in XVI-XVII mod thread in P&M TW sub-forum - I am currently finishing new techtree, so I know one or two thinks which can be useful in your mod.
Regards Cegorach :book:
Problem is, that I'd like to add this "Romanisation" for every faction. Perhaps Barbarian factions could have it common as "Barbatisation" or something like this.
or maybe a more neutral word like culturisation, but in the case of barbarian factions it should take loads of time to accomplish, given the invasors were greatly outnumbered by their new "subjects"
I am sorry, but only few building are impossible to destroy. Personally I don't think that barbarisation is a good idea - I believe it was pretty easy to them to move and found a new homeland - besides roman influence was hard to remove.
Culturisation doesn't make sense - this way you would have a building which will be used by everyone, so Barbarians would profit from Roman build 'romanisation' exactly like Rome from their 'barbarisation' because it would be THE SAME building.
Anyway, I have checked and Romanisation works well ( made from Forest Clearing) - see this:
https://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b...MANISATION.jpg
As you see even it I conquered the province I can't remove the roman influence, 'roman administration' was overthrown successfully, but Romanisation was not as I planned.
Of course it is only basic modification, so the old icons/pictures/descriptions remain, but I can make it as good as you like or send you the current files - if you wan't to do it on your own. ~:joker:
Regards Cegorach ~:grouphug:
I intended that each faction will have uniqe Romanisation equivalent. Without it , none military unit will be trained. It mould reflect fact, that every faction had to gain total control over province before being able to raise armies there. So, each faction would have own "building" of such type. BTW, main developer of the mod is Maximus Decimus Meridius, not me. I just spam here.~
EDIT: BTW, I dislike Byzantine Infantry with poor morale. I think, that this is heritage of original MTW, where Byzantine Infantry represented Byzantine army before end of empire as it was only shadow if its former glory and its soldiers really fled the battlefield often. But in your mod it shouldn't be so, as they really were descendants of Roman Legions and were trained with same tactics and were equipped quite equally well I think.
It looks pretty dead here.~:mecry:
If there is problem with mod, could you send me what do you have Max? v.pelcak@gmail.com You can send me whatever you wish. 2,6 GB free space should be enough.
Belisarius.
i'm here this mod in my mind is not dead, i hope to release the next release (the Last...) in january, cause until the end of december i'll be very busy with my job....
besides i'm developing a Fall of Rome version for RTW, i hope to release a beta version next month ...
