well done PixelGenie they look great!
Geoffrey S... i don't think they're chubby just big boned ~D
they've probably got thick clothing for living in the steppes or they are wearing armour but they do look quite cool...
Well, actually Taj Mahal elements are anything but 'random arbitrary'. It's one of the most perfectly simetrical buildings in the world. I suspect you're mistaking it for the Kremlin.Quote:

Dude, it's HEAVY cavalry. They eat big macs for breakfast.
Here are the concepts for the strat map characters. They are shared by all factions. The chinese diplomats are well versed in diplomacy and don't care which side they argue for as long as they are paid. Same goes for the ninja assasins and the spies are made up of intelligence men disguised as lowly 'invisible' peasantry.

Sweet overall you mean
and here are the ninja as mercenary battlefield unit with arcanii style, hide anywhere skill:

Haha Ninjas. Fricken tight.
What function do they play on the battlefield?
The ninjas look great. Will the same model be used for the assassin?
Is it possible for a unit to shoot his bow and still remain hidden? If so i think that would be an amazing ability for the ninjas. Giving them a bow as their primary weapon.
Is it possible to change the skin and/or model of seige equipment? Im assuming you would be forced to use the same skeleton. Is it possible to customize the towers and ladders for each culture like the battering ram?
Im just throwing some ideas out that i think are interesting.
Im guessing they can frighten enemy troops. They can hide anywhere making them prime ambushers. I doubt if they have much armor if any so youll want to be careful about enemy archers. I doubt if theyd fair very well against a cavalry charge either. Their role is to hide and ambush the enemy and disrupt his plans. Wont you be surprised when suddenly a unit of ninjas pops up behind your archers and you have nothing to protect them? Or when suddenly your flanking cavalry has been stopped by ninjas and cant deliver that charge from the rear you had depended on?Quote:

Also if you want to make them more historical, potent, and even cooler agive them grenades/bombs. Watch you opponent gaze in aww as previously hidden ninja's chuck a salvo of grenades on his general's bodyguard :beam:
Shifty: If i'm not mistaken hide in plain sight works just like hide in woods... except without the woods... what i mean is that if you start loosing arrows your position is compromised.
Hy sorry for my poor english but I am hungarian....

Very nice ninjas! I'm sure they will scare the sh*t out of the opponent when they pop up out of nowhere in his rear! ~
[GG]von Döbeln
nice ninjas! this is gonna be brilliant to play!
and i have to agree with zukenft hoggy is the god of all modders... which is a kinda crappy god to be but.... hope he like it ~D lol....
anyway i really like your concepts for the spies, diplomats etc... well thought up.. but what about the demons? won't those ideas be a little out of place with their whole: 'kill everyon!' thing???
Not at all. You fail to realise that the demons are not a mindless horde ravaging the countryside at whim. The demon faction is an organized efficient army with a purpose to its motives and it will do whatever needs to be done to ensure the outcome is in their favor. Whether thats assassinating an enemy general. Whether thats allying with a mistaken faction to protect their border and then turning on them when the time is right. Whether thats using one faction to attack another and then eliminating them when they arent needed anymore. Whatever it takes. The demons can be very persuasive.Quote:

WoW! Those ninja's look cool. Also very much like the models for the diplomat and spy, very cool. ~
ok shifty157 i understand... just i always pictured demons as a horde like barbarians but anyway... nice strat map models hoggy! this is possibly one of the best mods around! are you going to have different strat map models for the generals and captains as well?
Yes hes using the general/captain models that he made for the battlemap for the campaign map as well.Quote:

but as I said, they really stunning. I really like all the things you've done with the campaign map models and etc... it really gives a different feeling then vanilla, it's almost like if you really are in Asia.

Those battle Ninja's look cool. They should be able to throw shurikens too!
Anyway, cool as usual.
Ok, my first battle building, many thanks to DJ's tutorial. This took alot of hours, and judging by the number of buildings in the game I'll have to do some serious thinking on how to impliment these. I think I'm going to reduce the amount of wall types per faction and do some other shortcuts to get the basic feel without spending the next year building these objects
http://www.awrate.com/chrishogg/images/japanstone.jpg
that is totally amazing hoggy! ~
btw: a small question, wich faction(s) will use these walls?
out of curiosity: did you manage to use more then 1 textures on those building models, or if not, how big is the texture you used ?
looks great btw
Dear God on a pogo stick. This looks utterly amazing; could easily be part of a new game made with the Rome engine. Not just professional standard, but superbly professional!
Those japanese walls are simply orgasmic. Those screens are the best ive seen yet! You are truly amazing hoggy.
Just a quick note about the agent models. Is it possible to give the assassin the spy's walking animation? As well as perhaps a different attacking animation? That would be so much better. The ones they have in vanilla are just horrible. Who uses an armored barbarian with a large spiked club for an assassin? Its just silly and stupid.
