I love how Christianity celebrates the ressurection of the dead at this time of year. I heard somebody call Easter 'Zombie Weekend' and now I feel that if anyone ever calls it Easter I will have to correct them because it's clearly just time to watch evil dead and eat chocolate.
Using the "time travelling" properties of the EB Forum, I'm going to spend Easter travelling from relative to relative eating good food (brother is a chef) and drinking some excellent wine. When I finally return home, I will watch "Shaun of the Dead" whilst drinking Bodington's - thoughtfully puchased for me by my fellow EB Tavern members - and wearing my newest suit of Lorica Segementata.

Re: Easter--I was thinking last night as I lay in bed trying to get some fitful rest with a stomach full of partially digested ham, sweet potato and way too much apple crisp...all of the major "eating holidays" are in cold weather months for the northern hemisphere. Thanksgiving (in the US, anyway), Christmas, Easter are all culturally centered around a huge meal. Why in the winter, when people are traditionally more inactive due to the weather.
I think I figured out why--because no one wants to eat a lot when it's hot out.:yes:
If people liked to eat large meals when it is hot out, the calendar would have been set up with these holidays falling in the summer.:whip:
Easter is a non-event for me. There's only really Christmas where we have a massive feast. At least in my family anyway. The only good thing about Easter in Britain is there's a bank holiday on Good Friday and another on Easter Monday. 4 days off work!!

Really, I´m not as much an atheist as a "who gives a dam?". I´m not going act in a special way just because some god or other might possibly want me to. Common sense, if I don´t know I´ll get something back then why the hell should I give something to someone or something I don´t even know exists?
Actually many people become atheists because they want to have a damn good reason to believe in something. So atheists are actually the most moderate and unlikely to move towards a political „religion”.

I don't mean to knock you guys--I don't know you personally, but the individual is not usually the best judge of themselves.
Re: chocolate. Usually in small quantities. But sometimes I pig out and buy one of those big blocks of ambrosia chocolate and melt it with lots of butter to make it more rich and smooth and mix in peanuts. Then I dole it out in dollops and let it chill in the fridge. Then I spend a couple of days grabbing a piece every time I pass the fridge.
Then I run on the treadmill for extra time each day.
I'm agnostic.

Sooooooo, I read books from a lot of different religions, and if something makes sense, i put it in my head and and let it get analyzed by my common sense. if it doesnt make sense...i throw it out.

On a more serious note...
I love chocolate. But it wasn't always so. I didn't care for the stuff at all when I was younger. However, now I am a chocolate snob. I love a nice dark chocolate, preferably from Beligum or Switzerland or of comparable quality. At least 68 % cacao. And it is best enjoyed with a nice glass of port and a few hours of EB.
In fact, I think that it a grand plan for the evening. Better check my supplies ...
