I doubt it, the settlement which was "sabotaged" is the one located at (present-day) Denmark (I forget the name, probably it's Arhus). This settlement is surrounded by human factions and very far from the nearest "AI faction" Even if AI factions have assassins, I doubt very much their agents would make a lengthy journey just to sabotage a building belonging to a distant faction.

I don't know if watch towers can detect spy and assassin, can they? I did see a Polish spy south of Stettin though ~;) How about if you move that particular spy near my sabotaged settlement to see if there's something suspicious nearby (unless of course you're the one who masterminded this whole event) :laugh4:

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
Just so everyone who sees those spies on their border understands, the spies are blocking the roads into my lands. Since it's not a difficult trick to get around anyway, I'll let everyone know that if you cross an army over someone's border and hide it in a forest that person gets no warning. One counter to this which makes it slightly harder is to place agents along the path, so that in certain situations (bottlenecks) if you see that your agent got bumped aside it could only have happened by the passage of an army.
Anyway, I'd be happy to send a spy into your lands to have a look around Tran. Any information discovered regarding an assassin will be backed up by screenshots, as my Champion of Honor King is beyond having his word called into question. :beam:
As far as I know watch towers can help detect spies and assassins, but I'm also training my own spies, obviously. In fact, at least until the next crusade, none of my nobles are going anywhere without their own personal retinue of spies.

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
If your army bumps into an agent, including hidden agents, they will be revealed automatically, so try moving something within 2 squares distance of your settlement or further. You can do that with an agent too (priests come to mind). You can also create roadblocks, by having one unit armies standing along your borders. Prevents any agents from entering unless it is by boat.

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
Some questions:
1. According to rules reloading is not allowed. However, can I load the game and move my army to scan for "anything suspicious"?
2. Can watchtower detect agents hidden in forest? If I remember correctly, there's forest north of Danish settlement (Arhus), maybe...

Answers :
1 - Nope. Unless you wish to cheat... Up to you...
2 - I think they can... Agents do not go into hiding in the same way as armies

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
Watchtowers cannot detect anything.

I'd like FactionHeir and/or Ramses to be the one who answer (first question)...not the one I have most suspicion

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
For point 1, I would be inclined to agree with Tristan that it is not allowed, as the findings could be carried forward to the future and give an unfair advantage. Since your turn is before Tristan can act again though, you should have ample opportunity to scour the landscape.

Thank you. I accept it

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
Yeah, if you allow reloading to 'scan' the area it'll change the way the game is played IMHO. Just think about 'scanning' with a cavalry crusade army. You could see half of Europe, and it'd probably take you an extra hour+ time with the save. Better to take your chances. But, of course, if you look at your movement rates carefully it's pretty easy to send out a militia garrison company to 'scan' and bring it back into the city, allowing you a good zone of control around your cities.

are we ever going to do that sharing maps thing? I'd love to see how Europe has developed, I know very little from my cold corner.

Poland's turn
EF, send your diplomat. I don't have any diplomat near Russia.

France is up:

As an FYI to Germany and the Danes I have, as requested, moved two spies in the direction of Arhus. Both of them can be found west of Stettin if you want to go looking. They'll likely be too late to catch anyone, but until the Dane's own spy corp can get up to speed they will aid as much as possible.

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
I meant what was discussed way back in this thread where every 5 or 10 turns every faction would screenshot their maps and then post them when they were no longer current so we could all see each others expansion, but a few turns behind so we couldn't take advantage of it.

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
Alright guys,
Two things that need your attention and possibly vote:
I noticed that players seem to be using any exploit at their disposal unless it is clearly stated in the rules, and this is not what the game is about. I would like to ask that each and every one of you refrain from using known and/or unknown exploits during the game unless it has been publically agreed by majority vote, rather than using them unless they are refuted by majority vote.
If you have a problem with that, say so here and we can have a discussion.
In particular, I am looking at Tristan:
- Abusing fort/army merchant stack exploit
- Abusing autoresolve via near surround to force complete kill of a defeated army
Also, Tristan, how is the general killing going along? I noticed that you ended up adopting Perrin Gassou against what was voted on. While he was one of your starting generals, we agreed that we would not adopt these unless you were to use a princess. We already let you off with adopting the other starting general and keeping one of your adopteds, but I am very much alerted by this behavior of adopting the rest against the vote.

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
To the best of my knowledge, I have not been using any exploits. However the only exploit I now about is the stackable merchants trick. I agree with FH's line of thought, but we need a list of expoits that we can vote on item-by-item.
I also have no idea how to abuse autoresolve, nor do I know if I'm doing it or not.
-
Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
The one FH is talking about is if you split your army to surround (or nearly surround) and enemy army, then beat it in autoresolve, it has nowhere to retreat to and all survivors are instakilled. It's kind of like the surround and destroy agent one, only armies are much more expensive and harder to replace than agents. :sweatdrop:

Re: MTW2 Multiplayer Campaign
I am not abusing any exploits, especially not the merchant fort exploit which we specifically discussed and decided to ban before starting this hotseat.
