Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
This is too amusing!! I won't defend edse, I honestly don't know if he is scum or not, not playing with your minds here as I've been doing so far, but why you people don't do the math? How many xp he would need to achieve so high levels of corruption? In what else he invested points? Is there a way to prove that?
That huge amount of corruption seems odd to me, I was cultivating it and wasn't so easy. :inquisitive: I'm sincerely intrigued...
Edit: uh...doh I should have read entirely edse's post first. But there is a couple valid points there... If I were alive I would be believing you and of course voting for you, I'm scum!
I think all you suspect what is happening here, what better way to dismember the water school than cutting his head off? Now I'm playing with your minds again... but that happening is a possibility!

Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Edse is either the cult leader, or someone is lying.
If we lynch Edse, and he is town, then the air college will have hell to pay.

The only possible reason would be a special role or cult leader, or someone is lying.

There's a contradiction here. If you are a confirmed mason, then why wouldn't the cult have converted you yet? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for lynching edse, but unless there is something that prevents you from being converted, then you should be scanned at the very least. And you should be put to the stake if edse is innocent. With two Cults almost everyone is going to get converted eventually.

Stats updates sent.
As middle of day is coming, I want to remind you that night will be short. If you want, you can send me night orders in advance, just name the pm's as night orders

WAIT. A scanning item?
ATPG what rank are you?

To be honest, what you say is a very real possibility. And knowing ATPG, even more real.

Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
We have a very clear situation here. ATPG claims that he scanned edse and that edse showed up as "utterly corrupted." The rules clearly state that this is a very high level of corruption and it is apparently a special state that avoids the usual numbers. edse, on the other hand, claims he has 1 corruption. One of these two people are lying, which means we have caught a scum. This is a pretty standard situation. When someone reveals a guilty investigation result, the proper course of action is to lynch the accused (in this case, edse). If the lynch then turns out to be wrong, you lynch the accuser (in this case, ATPG). Mafia 101. In any case, do any of you really think that scum-ATPG would fabricate a non-ambiguous investigation result in a game where the guilt or innocence of players is immediately disclosed upon their death?

Impossible, because Air had no idea edse was the headmaster until it was posted in the thread in his defense.

There is a third option, we are both telling the truth but something messed with the scan and we end up with two dead townies if we follow standard procedures.

Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Clutching at straws much?

Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Yeah that sounds like desperation.
Unvote; Vote: Edse

While that's possible, it's extremely unlikely. For that to be true, we'd have to assume that someone became aware that ATPG was going to scan you before he did. That person would then have to be able to be free to perform a night action without being suspected by their college-mates. Finally, that person would have to have an item or ability that would screw up the investigation, and we've never heard of anything that can do that. So, possible, but very unlikely. The fact that you're so readily willing to grasp at that exceptional unlikeliness is scummy. A typical townie reaction would be to stick to the 'ATPG is framing me' argument, as that's by far the most likely situation if you are innocent. Your willingness to promote a third option indicates that you know ATPG is innocent, which indicates that you are scum.

But I know I'm innocent and, just as you, don't believe that ATPG would claim a false result, therefore I believe something messed up the scan.
And Visorslash, I promoted you last night, was that something a scum would do?

Possibly? Alibi and all? I don't know, and I don't really want to lynch you. But if you're scum you have to go. And if you come up town, bye bye Pizza.

You seem awfully certain that ATPG isn't scum. That's rather remarkable for someone being 'falsely' accused of a crazy corruption score. I love this one too:

You know ATPG is town? How? I'm was in his college and even I didn't know that. I give him the benefit of the doubt and stand by that decision, but I certainly don't know he is town.

he was a town mason and what mafia would fabricate a scan result that will lead to his lynch the following day?

As others have pointed out, he could have been recruited, just like you. The rest of us are aware of that and are taking it into account, but you don't seem to think it's even an option despite being very open-minded about what could have caused that scan result. PIS much?

Why won't you listen? what mafia would fabricate a scan result that will lead to his lynch the following day? This will end in two dead townies.

Few. That's why I think the result is accurate.

but I know it isn't accurate so therefore I don't believe that ATPG is scum. Do you understand now?

Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
There's a difference between believing and knowing. You claimed to know.
-
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
I strongly believe that ATPG is town and that he isn't framing me.
Look at what I said about the corruption score, it is not possible.
I request mercy today so that I can be scanned a second time. Block me, use anti-corruption spells or whatever as well. I will heal someone of your choice. No one have anything against lynching Xenoneb.
-
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
Bah... the third possibility is a possibility very remote, if Atpg is fabricating the result then there is an ulterior motive to do so and his lynch is a calculated risk, that is more credible than something messing with the scan.
Edit:

This desperation for keep breathing is so scummy... if you were my master all this time please come to our quick-topic and say so, all this is so disconcerting...
-
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
I'm not advocating letting edse go, but he sounds like a townie who has gotten framed.
Edse, are you holding any magical items which could disrupt my scan? Something like that whole "dagger of corruption" that was found on one of the scumbags?
I imagine the scums have items which are corrupt in and of themselves. Did you get your hands on one, edse? If so, how?
And if so, why have you failed to mention it?
-
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
I have no such item. The only thing I have is the sculpture that belongs to the Water College.

Yeah right… I wish both you and Xenoneb could be lynched in one same day.

Now I'm upset.
Wouldn't a scumbag claim to have an item as a reason for my investigation being spoofed? Wouldn't edse-as-scum at least lie, or something?
The dude is staring at what amounts to be the most ironclad investigation in the game that we have for finding cultists, and he's making the corrupt-o-meter go completely batshit. But he won't offer any explanation, even a lie, as to why that is.
But I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would bother to spoof an investigation of edse. The fire college is gone. If I wanted to win the partisan way, I'd be attacking Khaan or Khaan's buddies, so I have no motive to lie here.
You know what?
Screw investigation results. There's something wrong here, and I do intend to find out what it is.
Edse does not need to die immediately. But he's nearly off the scale in terms of corruption, by scan, by an item that should have no trouble detecting such.
By all the rules of mafia games ever, edse is guilty guilty guilty. Don't ever forget this.
But Askthepizzaguy says: Detectives suck. They disconnect our brains. My brain says, there's something wrong here, and it's not Pizza being guilty and faking a detective result either. Talking with Edse, I actually believe him more than I believe the scan.
Well, not quite. If Jarema's scan can't be trusted, then there's something wrong with the item. Or there's another possibility.
Scum have the power to hide their corrupt-ness, according to the rules. So we know they can mess with detective results one way.
If that's the case, that means detective results are not 100 percent reliable.
And, it also leaves the door open for the possibility, however remote, that they could also inflict bad detective results onto others.
Why wouldn't the cult leader be able to hide his corruption score? Why would a cult leader appear massively corrupt when it says in the rules, they can hide their corruption? They have ways of doing so?
Mark this moment in mafia history: If Edse is actually a townie, and Pizza guessed right on that in spite of a detective result that would tell me otherwise, I win the thread forever.
If I let Edse go after scanning him dead to rights, I lose the thread forever.
Unvote Edse
Vote Xenoneb
This move tells you what I really think of detectives. Detectives blow.

Am wondering what my mason partner is smoking in the afterlife.
You don't see how single-minded and uncritical such thinking is?
Detective results are supposed to help us deduce where the scums are- they aren't guaranteed. You still require a central nervous system to determine for yourself whether or not you believe the detective.
I don't believe the detective and I'm the detective.
-
Re: Academy of Elemental Magic [IN PLAY]
If this is a plot to destroy both Edse and my credibility, then it stands to reason: the architects of this plot also joined in on accusing Edse, and are also advocating severe consequences for his mislynch.
Wand of suspicion: Those people.

Ok, this is weird, more coming form you. From where comes this idea of an item with so great capabilities? Arjos had the dagger when was lynched, how much corruption do you think that item added to the scan result?
An item adding so much corruption to his owner can't exist.
