The French-Swiss war continued almost like in previous months. France was the offencive side and destroyed small Swiss army in Milan. Half of that territory is occupied by French and most likely the other half will fall soon too. While Louis XIII armies were victorious in Italy, their campaign in Germany was stopped by large Swiss army when they tried to occupy a small province near the border of Switzerland.
In Austria, Ferdinand II called the Catholic League with it's army to help him against the Ottoman Empire. Soon both Imperial and Leagues armies moved against their enemy and occupied most of Hungary and few provinces on the coast of Adriatic Sea. After defeating a small Ottoman force near Transylvania they finally understood why there had been so few enemy soldiers defending the border. Mighty forts were built by the Turks and without the siege artillery it was impossible to continue this campaign.
Other news from Europe mention that in south, both Portugal and Spain gained new territories. Spain received lands in Italy from small states who looked for protection while Portugal started the conquest of Algeria. In Southern Germany, Saxony united more states under it's rule. They took some lands just days before Bohemians could claim them. This can't be good for the relations of these two states. In Scandinavia, Sweden gathered troops and ships near Kattegat and in Eastern Europe Transylvania increased it's size after they received some lands in Moldavia from the Ottomans.
