Honestly AG, there is a way to have you miss everything until Tuesday and no party will miss a beat.
If the general consensus is to wait until Easter is over, I'm fine with that. It will give me more time to determine the exact makeup of armies. Tonight, I'll post an IC background story and the mechanics of the battle. There will be some good material for you guys to discuss, both privately and publicly. The exact army composition will then be posted on Tuesday, and the battle will roll from there.
What do you guys think?
Breaker, breaker, rubbery ducky, that's a 10-4;Quote:

I really have no opinion. I'll be fine either way.
I'm looking forward to discussing strategy once the map, units, and such are up. Are we going to have to use PM lists, or is there some way to create a post that excludes certain members?
:egypt:
Okay, I'll post the initial stuff tonight and we'll actually start the battle on Tuesday.
Ramses,
AFAIK there's no way you can create posts that exclude members. PMing or Quicktopic would be your best bet. If you decide to do Quicktopic, I request that you send me the link so that I make sure there are no rules violations (i.e. if a general gets cut off from the rest of his force, he can't really be included in a discussion).
How do I join one of these games? I never really thought about what they were until I read the wiki. I was looking at frozen crusade, but it looks like they are on hiatus.
Nevermind - I read the first page - I would like to join the House of Swabia, if I may.
Just post in the thread of the one you want to join. It works kind of like the Gameroom, whoever is running the game will get you organized, except that most games allow you to join in the middle, instead of just at the start. KOTR can't really be joined at the moment, because we're about to finish it. We're preparing to fight a 'final battle' and then the game will be over. Another 'big' game along the lines of KOTR will be starting up within a few weeks to a month after this ends, though, so you can always get in on the start of that one. There will be plenty of 'ads' for the game posted around the forum when that happens, so you won't be likely to miss it.Quote:

Hopefully Frozen Crusade won't die, we just don't have as many committed players like in KOTR. Zim has been chancellor (or Schatzmeister) a number of times, but he's losing steam and it seems like no one wants to take the post.
I was planning on cutting you in via pm either way since there are some ideas I want to run by you for feasibility. Not worth jumping the gun on the rules since half of 'em might be ruled out anyway.
I'll work out a PM list tonight probably, and pm all the Imperials; the first pm will include the correctly formatted list of people to pm so we can all just C&P to reply.
:egypt:
I can push through the last few turns, but at this point I can't run for Shatzmeister again. :sweatdrop:
If you'd like I can bring us to the end of the current term, and we can see about getting someone else to run.

You have outdone yourself, GH. Both on the background and the rules. It never even occurred to me that we were exactly 300 years on from the start of the game. I am very excited to see this get rolling. Win or lose, it will be fun. :2thumbsup:
The hard part isn't creating the rules, it's executing them. :sweatdrop:
well at least your starting strong, who to have as overall commander then? Peter seems the obvious candidate.
Looks good, GH. :2thumbsup:
Well, we (Republicans) almost ended up with as many men as the Imperialists. :clown:
I suppose Peter will be the overall commander, but that's a matter for Quicktopic.
YOU KICKED A, GH! Amazing work. I am so excited, you wouldn't even believe it.
A good read and very acceptable.
Especially orders being intercepted.
This time around your cavalry won't stand idle three turns eh?
That was exactly what I had in mind when I thought up the general-in-waiting role! How ever did you know? :wall: :laugh4:Quote:

For the Republicans, I think we should pick Arnold (AussieGiant). He's the Grand Master (head) of the Illuminati, which is the main power on the Republican side. Plus he's a Duke, an ex-Chancellor, and a direct blood descendant of two Kaisers. He's also a pretty damn good general.
well, I'll be the overall commander. just use Quicktopic tho as GH suggested, it's great!
If the Imperialists have a Quicktopic going, could somebody PM me the link? Thanks a lot.
Cecil, nice story. Becker will get a wonderful farewell. :laugh4:
If any of you suckers are still awake,

join my Speed Mafia game. I want to host and I need some players!
Great story Cecil! I thought you were writing Becker out of KOTR, and then you popped that last line. :2thumbsup:
Ah, since there's been some discussion on the Quicktopics about Generals-in-waiting, I will say here that GiWs may be part of either the Advance or Rear Guards with no penalty.
Just an update, the army composition for both sides is, in fact, complete. I am now beginning the process of transferring each unit separately to a Word Document so you guys can C&P them onto the battle maps with ease and also confirm divisions.
-edit- if anybody asks me what's in their army between now and Tuesday, I scrap their current composition and give them a quarter-stack of Peasants. :devilish:
Thanks GH! Much appreciated!
What if I ask what is in gibson's army?Quote:
