Welcome to The Org :)
Welcome!
Welcome Jarema, to the forum.
TW.Org is unlike any other forum you might've been a part of....it's a lot 'home-er' than the rest of them.
Good to have you here Jarema.
Hello everyone new! Have some fun here!
Welcome to all new people! ~
Welcome peeps!
Ladies and Gentleman! AggonyReborn shouting to all friends and enemies alike :) glad to be here, and i intend on posting usually nonsence and stuff i dont even understand. Hello my friends!
Hi everybody, I just joined like 5 minutes ago and this is the first forum I've been on...ever.
The only TW game I've ever played is RTW and its amazing...to me anyway..
Well here goes first post!!
Welcome Octavian_of_the_view.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay. I am not sure how active the Coliseum is, where they discuss Rome, but then again I haven't checked in a while.
I'm a Medieval II Total War fan myself. Interested in any of the newer games? If you ever feel like chatting about Rome, I used to play it a lot and I wouldn't mind discussing it!
I would like to get the newer games I've played a little bit of empire and it looks pretty cool. Unfortunately I have a mac and the only total war out for that is Rome. If Feral ever redoes any of the other games for mac I'll be all over them.
Greetings! I don't play any of the total war games, but I heard about this place from some mafia players on Civilization Fanatics Center (CFC).
I know mafia is in the gameroom forum (started out there by following a link) but it appears new members can't post there?
~ Hi DaveShack!
You need to join a permission group to post in the Gameroom. Follow this link:
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/profi...editusergroups
or you can get there through the 'Settings' page I think, it's on the sidebar.
When I joined I was also instructed by ATPG to send a PM to one of the moderators of the Gameroom, GeneralHankerchief I think, just for reassurance that I was not a spambot. That might just have been because of the high volume of new people joining at that time, though (ATPG had a big Resident Evil game taking signups) so that might not be necessary.
Is that all correct? I really don't know what I'm doing here but no-one else was answering! :sweatdrop:
Hello DaveShack,
It just requires a membergroup to the gameroom, Amsel explained that well.
Hi everyone!
My nick is biggieboy, but my real name is Steven.
I've decided to join your lovely family :-)
I also have an account on twcenter.net, where I usually hang out. The main reason why I came here is because of the lovely work the modders are doing on EB2. I'm a big fan of EB1.2, and maybe I can help out wherever possible. If you have any questions about me or anything, just ask, i won't bite (unless you ask me to :eyebrows: )
Hey, OldMan, here, stuck on 1980's music and movies, over 40, computer geek. Discovered modding when I scripted characters for Baldhur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal and had it down to the point that I didn't even have to play the game during combat; just sit back and yawn. Since then, I experiment once in a while. I play MTW, hated Shogun (could never win the combat scenarios, no matter what, so I tossed it -- if I can't enjoy it, why bother myself with it), but I love MTW. Have not moved up to later versions of Creative Assembly produces because I like the gameboard style of the strategy map (probably b/c I like Chess). Been working on a mod off and on for 3 years now, and I'm chomping at the bit. Picky, tempermental program this is. I've posted my problems, questions and pleas for help elsewhere, and getting some response. Went to college a few years ago and learned PASCAL and QuickBASIC, only to find out that it's worthless now. But, it gives me some entertainment and a little understanding of what I'm working with when I get behind a computer, so I don't regret it. From Kansas, love MTW, 80's music, computers, Chess, Dungeons & Dragons, snow skiing, airplanes, and camping.
Oh, BTW, I found another thread where people were posting places to find flags, etc. I can't find that thread now, but I did find this:

Not quite new just been lurking. :D
Wellcome OldMan and WarriorQueen!
Welcome OldMan, I was once alot like you were, new to the .org! Have fun and share your TW and the like know-how! :)
Hi WarriorQueen, regents are always welcome in this occasionaly unrully kingdom! I weep with joy at your arrival! :)
Hello OldMan,
Didn't you have an account here before? I recall a similar name. What's the mod you're working on?
Though outdated, Pascal is a fair start to learn programming. I was so unlucky to get my first experience with Basic on a PC without harddisk. That meant typing spaghetti code for an hour without knowing or understanding anything, followed by a power failure at the moment the code was ready to be run. Do you intend to continue coding?
Welcome all!
It is so nice to see so many new faces.
Hey all! I am new here! I am a 68 year old Catholic Priest from Wittenberg, and I enjoy assembling model airplanes! I have never played the Total War games, but I do like German Industrial Metal. Please bake me cookies. :)
I mean welcome all!

Fresh baked cookies for all the new members who join the .org! Any type they should wish, I shall bake them!Quote:

Greetings and salutations from the GTMO refugee.
I began playing STW at a friends house in 2001. He was in the middle of a real-time battle when I got there. I wasn't too attracted to playing that part, but when he got to the strategic board, it peaked my interest. I stayed over and played the campaign mode all night, always using automatic battle resolution. I was enthralled with the Shogunate atmosphere of the campaign and paid meticulous attention to raising a champion general that would lead my daimyo's domination of Japan.
Fast foward nearly a decade later and the rigors of adult life leaving less time for gaming left me looking for a game that didn't require constant attention and could be played casually; however, it would keep me engaged at the same time. A game that I could be totally engrossed in, but could abrubtly walk away from and still have the "chess pieces" in place to pick right back up from where I left off. Shogun: Total War immediately came to mind. I patiently kept my eyes out for the game to purchase for quite a while, finally resorting to buy a reproduction of the game after all the legitimate vendors I attempted to buy from said that the specific title was purposefully depleted without replenishment from their inventory.
Nonetheless I know have the game and the pleasure of finding out that a sequal is in development. I had the foturne of stumbling upon the Org while searching for information on STW in regards to what the highest rank a general could accomplish was while running a single player campaign. What I found was much more than the simple answer I was seeking. I believe this site will futher enhance the experience of playing STW and I look foward to contributing during my campaign.
Hi Everyone,
though i've been registering just now, i can't call myself "fresh meat".
I've been a huge fan of the total war games starting with Medeval. After Medeval I in found Rome + Barbarian invasion a quantum leap forward with respect to Medeval I. Though i liked Rome very much Medeval 2 was a sort of coming home for me, all the technology of Rome plus new landscaping and that nice huge array of units. At the moment i'm still chewing on Kingdoms. I chose for the Apaches as fraction, with the most tough level of difficulty. To my estimation the apaches was the most difficult fraction. And i must say, i've difficulty to keep control, my hardest campain for ages (now are you of course telling me the apaches are the easiest ).
I fear i am a slow player, still having my hands full with Kingdoms right now. I take my time in campaigns and my battles do not have a time limit too. The last 2-3 years I was very busy, i never came to the point starting Empire. To catch up, just before Shogun 2 was announced, i bought Napoleon. So on average i'm running one title behind. In spite of this i'm having a lot of fun and decided to join you all to satisfy some latent questions i have.
I want to close this short message with a wish: lets hope the Total War series will stay among us for a long time.
Hullo everyone,
I just recicled my Rome: TW, and found myself again. So exited I couldn“t wait to finish the campaign and for the first time I must confess: I cheated in Rome. I am playing as the Egypts..
I checked this forum once and again years ago.. Now, seeing it still alive and fighting I finally decided to be a member. About time..
See ya around then!!
