for those of you who want to post non english words, or words that dont appear in google, might want to either change the word or supply the definition.
cognoscente
(L. One who knows a subject thoroughly)
expert
sorry if i wasnt clear.
take the word Cognaçais. type it into google. if the definition isnt there, please supply a definition.
mentor
(I'm trying to make some flying leaps, double entendres (not rude ones) and where possible bring it into vaguely ancient channels (maybe not with Davout who was besieged in Hamburg in 1814, but Hyksos->interregnum, because the Hyksos seem to have interupted the dynastic flow of the Middle Kingdom in Egypt: or in this case a mentor is an experienced advisor ( a bit like an expert, but not exactly) and the name comes from Mentor who was the guise worn by Athena when advising Telemachus which is archaic rather than classical but still somewhat EB relevant, not that its a requirment I know) so occasionally I'll chuck up an un-googlable word and sorry:oops:)
Odyssey
Calypso
(for the benefit of Hooahguy and anyone else interested, Cognaçais means people from the Cognac district of France, which is of course famous for its brandy. The link with the previous three words cogitation, precognition and recognition needs no explanation! The word game rules do not restrict words to the English language or what's on the internet. Indeed the first word used was a Japanese one, and I have seen many words and names used which are only known in their native land. Isn't that part of the fun, and adds an extra element of horizon-broadening and knowledge learning to the game?) :beam:
P.S. If anyone doesn't get this one, they should read Homer. It's really good!
