I like my Heavy, Armoured Infantry:
Hoplites, Liby-Phoenicians, Rhomphias, Loricati Scutarii, Nietos, Solduros, Thorakitai.
More fun are the medium infantry since they can be thrown into dire situations with a reasonable chance of success & low cost of replacement in case of failure:
Drapani, Caetrati/Scutarii, Bataroas/Botroas, Theureophori, Peltasti
For cavalry my favs are Brihentin & Carthaginian Citizen cav, Brihentin are sweet heavy cav with a lean towards close range slogging & the carthies while nothing special, I found them to be ever useful in my Carthage campaign.
Most of the time I just use FM body guards & a unit of light/medium for cav.

It is very sad that such great nations like Celts and Greeks are insulting each other, why not make an aliance against ... uhm ... Rome?
Too late, Carthage conquered it.
... which in turn was conquered by the Getai!
Which means the Celts can't fight the Hellens anymore because there is no land connection. :medievalcheers:
no silly! the getai rule in every continent! they are connected to all and rule all!

!%#@)$ (mystery poeple) RULE (19000 can rout 150000 of TPC's best units)
You know, it's a show of weakness to bring so many allies. While still trying to keep your delusions of grandeur, you recognize your own inferiority and bring on all the scum on earth willing to serve you for a little coin.Quote:

Ayce, is that recruitable in Getai starting province? I can't seem to find it in the recruitment viewer. . .
i think so- all u need to get it is to beat one measly army of rebels. then you can recruit it to become the supremem ruler of the world!
meanwhile, Ibrahim and his bunch do thus:
:inquisitive: :inquisitive:
look, all the factions rock, one way or the other..why fight over whose when you can just cammpaign in EB 1.1...besides mp tourney is coming soon (hopefully). we'll settle our differences there.
To get this thread back on topic. . .Massilian hoplites are my favorite troops in my current Aedui campaign. They saved my butt against the Romani, standing off the hordes of Triarii the Romans spammed. Put simply, I owe them big-time. They look pretty cool too.
Aye, your weapons and aliies are, indeed, strong. Fortunately for us, we have allies as well. I give you the Savior of the Celts!Quote:

Looking at all these Keltoi screens is making me want to play a Aedui campaign! And this is coming from a serious Romani fanboy!
Fav unit=Eqvites Extraordinarii!
if you want to beat each other with pictures in a game, there's a topic in the frontroom. Could we please stay on topic?
Anyway the best unit type ingame is obviously the phalanx for infantry and cataphract horse archers. Though the second maybe expensive, a lot of of medium phalanx units can beat the crap out of most and are cost efficient.
EDIT:EDIT Yes this is spam I am moving this to the tavern.
So what if Chuck Norris was a GaesataeQuote:

I have always liked the Maco Agrianes.
I've been getting into the Armenian palette of troops, and the Georgian Medium Inf are a satisying stack filler for me. I get a solid confident feeling taking on the AS with 4 of these guys on my flanks, especially if I get the chance to run the silver b******s up and down some mountains before engaging.
However in the spirit of the ongoing Hellas vs Keltoi debate, I'd like to add this point: the Kelts overan Greece but the Greeks never made it to Ireland:2thumbsup:
...which probably shows they had some sense...
Off topic, but I gotta apologize. I was having soooo much fun with the whole picture war thing and got carried away. :sweatdrop:
I'm sorry, everyone. :shame:
Back on topic now --
The Massilian holites are one of my favorite units, too.
But why do they only fight with swords, at least in my game? The only edits I've done is 0 upkeep and 1-turn recruitment.
Press alt when ordering them to attack.Quote:
