Wait wait wait, which version of Kingdoms do you have? Because the US_NON_GOLD version of the patch will obviously not work if you bought M2TW and Kingdoms in the same pack. (Some sort of Gold version)

No only setup I'll show you

I brought them separated
Ok, but what I'm asking is: Did you buy your copy of Medieval 2 Total War bundled with the Kingdoms expansion? Or did you buy each seperately? Depending on your answer, it could simply be you downloaded the wrong patch.
EDIT: Ok well then, I suppose even if you extract "setup.exe" and try to run it, it doesn't work?
The compressed version of the patch, not the single file I uploaded. :clown:
I had it wrong anyway, you'd be using the UK version so there would be no "US_NON_GOLD" or anything.
I think there's only one UK version of the patch, even though it's labeled on the website as the "Gold" version. If it looks like the American one, the setup should be in one of the folders that comes with the patch. If not I'm not really sure where to find it... :sweatdrop:
It doesn't work
Vista pops up with a message saying
Setup.exe has a error.
And it looks for a solution and then says it can't
Sorry about not helping much with the patch issue, but its almost 5 am here and I really ought to go sleep a bit. If in a few hours you still haven't been able to make the patch work, I'll take another look at it.
The Kingdoms Patch always was a bit of a pain.
I'm afraid I'm not computer savvy enough to be much help. The fact you have a different version of the game than TheFlax or I could be making our advice meaningless (it's probably why my copy of the setup file didn't work...).
Best place to check would likely be the apothecary. They can fix and Total War game problem.

I should go to bed soon as well but we might as well give it one more try before posting threads int he help forum.
Can you unpack the .rar of the patch you downloaded into your MTW2 folder and then show me a pic of whatever files get unpacked? We'll see if it looks anything like what I got with the US patch.
Well, I'm off to bed (going on 3:00 A.M. here). Hopefully we can get this figured out tomorrow.
Hello
just to ask....
I only pasted Teutonic related files to replace, does to affect the game if I don't paste it
the other files.
Let's do this empirically.
1- Are you able to successfully unpack the compressed files from the patch? i.e. you get the setup.exe on your desktop (or wherever you unpac it) without any error message from the unpacker?
If yes, let's go down the list.
If not, I see you're using WinRar. I've had some problems with WinRar and Medieval 2 patches and files (my Kingdoms is from D2D so I had a lot of unpacking). I suggest trying WinAce http://www.download.com/WinAce/3000-...-10030793.html it's always worked for me.
What I get once I unpack is this:You seem to get only the setup file. It may be because of WinRar. Or it's because our versions of Kingdoms are different. I can't be 100% sure.Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
2- Are you able to execute the setup.exe? This should bring you through an entire installation process with nice pictures from the game exactly like when you installed Kingdoms the first time. If it doesn't, then there is a problem. If you get an error message at this point, it is either A) you didn't unpack the patch successfully (see step 1) or B) your downloaded patch is corrupted.
If it's B), then download the patch again. And attempt the install again.
3- So you've gone through steps 1 and 2 and nothing yet works. Well that actually happened to me when I reinstalled Kingdoms just this weekend. I solved the problem the hard way. I uninstalled Kingdoms, uninstalled Medieval, uninstalled Stainless Steel 6.1 and uninstalled Broken Crescent. Then I reinstalled everything except for the mods. I downloaded the patch anew and installed that.
Everything worked fine.
If you want to reinstall mods, I suggest creating a seperate folder for your modded Medieval files (then again, not everyone has the hard drive space for that).
I'm no tech, that's just the way I wrestle these kinds of game related problems.
Right I click on downloads on the computer.
And then go on the WinRAR file contains the patch all that's in there is the setup.
no data or anything.
I think I'm missing someth ing the other one I downloaded had no installer instead
a big folder containing patch files.
?????
What is going on? Have I got the wrong downloads?
Try downloading the patch again.
Download WinAce.
And try to open it with WinAce.
I think I should just withdraw to save you all time
Its for the best
In that case, anyone minds if I sub the HRE until we can get someone to play them? I'll just tech them up in their little corner of the world.
I'll take the hre if no-one else wants them, that is if they are still open.
Well, speaking for myself here, but yes please do. I'd like to see this moving along ASAP.
Well, if Prince of Graal has officially left (curse you 1.5 patch! :furious3:) you're welcome to take over, oz_wwjd.
Have you played a hotseat before?
This is the first turn, so passwords have not been set.
