i'm affraid same thing was said before - they told us M2TW will be easier to mod than RTW, and then they packed all files and didnt provided unpacker for 3-4 months... so i'm skeptical...
It is not commercially sensible for CA to encourage modding until they have realised the benefit of the sales bulge from the initial release of the game.
I would be surprised if they have changed the policy followed with RTW and M2TW. The time to encourage modding is when interest is beginning to ebb and potential customers are being tempted by rival games coming up for release.
I think that CA have learnt since M2:TW... they now know how big the modding community of M2:TW is - even why they included latest mod releases in the Kingdom's Launcher. - If they forbid all mods and modding that'll crush their future sales.
for any company current sales are more important than possible future sales...
So this is where TWC'ers go for refuge when its down.
actually i joined ORG long time ago when MTW was released and i was searching for some mods. in that time i was a lurker and i didnt posted until later. Then RTW came up, and i moved to TWC where i stayed till now because of some mods that have home there (like S.P.Q.R for RTW, or RR/RC SS6 for M2TW.) my current profile was registered in 2007,because i forgot about my old one...
This is heartbreaking..why is it still down!...
