Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
[...gaping 10 min in sheer amazement...]
Easily the most marvelous and probably most awesome preview the EB team has shown to date - a brilliantly written piece of flawless scholarship paired off with equally excellent modelling and skinning – breathtaking work, absolutely incredible!

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Sweet mercy. I think it says a lot about EB that this preview was longer and more indepth then most chapters in my historybooks back when I was in high school. Awesome piece of work and very interesting to read.
My problem with the Casse (thought I certainly didn't disliked them) was that they didn't really do anything beyond unifying the british isles when AI controlled. I'm curious to see if the medieval 2 AI can handle navel invasion better.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi

 The level of historical knowledge in this preview puts many documentaries to shame, but the team still feels it necessary to add an appendix.
Outstanding work, Oudysseos and the rest of the Pritanoi team. If I wore a hat, I would take it off.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
May I know who is the mastermind behind this wonderful faction? I intend to grant him the title of [Autokrator ton Pritanoi], holding an honourary position within the Romaioktonoi.

while we're on that topic: are you the fellow who sent me that invitation to the Romaioktonoi? I already said no months ago, and am not about to change my mind.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
The proper title is Ricon, or Great King.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Really amazing stuff, yet again. I can't help being amazed at the research that goes into your work. Really astonishing! Really exceptional!
-
Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
That does look cracking but I have one question. Are the family members going to be in chariots in battle? Just really curious.
Thanks

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
They will be on foot.
Quote:
Chariots and horses were the pride of every Noble, and a sign of great prestige, but when battle was truly joined, the commander must be on foot - both to direct his men as well as he can, and to show himself no less brave than his lieges.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Excellent work, really great preview. Good job.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Fantastic... the previews just get better and better. Glad to see my beloved Casse will get a worthy replacement!
-
Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Wow, that's a lot to read through. I'm impressed by the sheer size of this preview, and the amount of work that has obviously gone into it.
I imagine I'l be satisfied with it. Thanks EB team! :)

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Only one word comes to my mind over and over again...AMAZING!!!
That is excelllent work, my most sincere congratulations to all of the staff and specifically to Oudysseos for such an amazing preview and all the info.
On a small sidenote, i noticed that picture of a round hut with two levels being the ground level for animals and the upper one for people. It reminds me of many many village houses in my country that are exactly like that even though they are not used in that specific manner anymore (or rarely anyway)
Again, CONGRATULATIONS, keep up the good work and...please ...hurry :)

Look at the first stratmap picture in the upper left corner! Is that a yellow border of ANOTHER FACTION, or is it just the 3rd turn waypoint for a unit outside of the picture????

I saw that too but I thought it was the direction/turn indicator at which an army is heading. But now that you mentioned the possibility of a neighbouring faction (which I didn't even think of btw), I am very interested in the response :inquisitive:... very very interested...

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Wonderful preview!
@ Smeel, stratigos vasilios: I fear it's just a movement line, 'cause there's no gray line (from the eleutheroi province border) next to it. I doubt they'd have enough sources to create a second faction on the British Isles at all.

Unless the Ptolemaoi have migrated... :P

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but there is not going to be a second faction in the British Isles (although if we had more faction slots, there probably would be). What you see in the screenshot is a bit of a left-over from a previous version of the map, nothing more.

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
Kids at shool should start learning ancient history from EB2... .

Or you are just hiding something from us!!!! Or not, but we will see in time, won't we?

Re: Preview: The Pritanoi
OUTSTANDING!! Everytime there is a new EBII preview I think to myself "They can't surpass this preview in terms of information, WOW-factor, excitement" and then the next preview comes out... BAMM!
Absolutly fantastic! I must say that I have never seen any better skins in any M2TW mod. awesome work, Gustave!! And of course also from the other members involved!

That's a coin legend, but almost certainly an abbreviation for Rigonos.
