Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Not really, the Mafia are purposefully attempting to "look innocent", thus they will attempt to do the obvious non-action, such as massive bets. It would buy them enough "town cred" to last a while, while on the otherhand, the town would be spending nights having protection or not.

But if the Mafia uses most of their credits in these first days, then they'll lose any ability of saving themselves from lynches later on, by not having the points necessary to shift lynches around. Assuming the three Mafia can't each kill one (Making 3 kills per night until one of them is found), as that would be severely unbalanced for the Mafia in a small Mafia game, it would be a stupid mistake they'd make.
But then they'd might do that and trust us not to lynch them. So... Back at square one.

They would only have to do it for one round, then surf the rest of the game. Since trying to be deemed "less scummy" is worth more than the money.
Think of it this way. Who do you remember more - The person who bought the first round of pints, or the one who bought the 3rd or 4th?. It is the first round that makes it count.
Any townie with half a brain cell knows they will use hardly no money, since they will be spending it on other things anyway, only person who benefits are the mafia, as they don't have to spend 30 credits to do a night protection.

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Or we could always wait till day two to start the WIFOMs.

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Wager 20: Crazed Rabit
Pure omgus

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Fold: Romanic
Wager 1: Split
Too large a bet.

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
fold
wager 30: split
Scummiest person so far. I'll say why later. Can we get a wager count?
-
Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Fold
Wager 100: Atheotes
Because I didn't go all in or minimum in?
-
Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Fold: Secura
Wager 5: split
A suicidal vote such as mine was just rude to Pizza; I'll await an early death instead.

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
hmm, I think we need to agree to policy lynch anyone who drops a big wager to save themselves from a lynch. It's just too open to mafia exploitation...we won't win if it takes us 2 lynches to get every mafioso. So if you're towne DON'T DO IT.

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Unofficial Tally. Correct if you see any errors.
Quote:
Splitpersonality: 126 (90, Crazed Rabbit) (1, Pinman) (30, Sasaki) (5, Secura)
atheotes: 100 (100, Split)
Skooma Addict: 13 (10, Jht) (3, Double A)
Crazed Rabbit: 10 (10, Skooma)
Secura: 10 (10, Arpeg)
Pinman: 5 (5, Diana)
Double A: 5 (5, Greyblades)
Sasaki Kojiro: 2 (1, Seon) (1, Romanic)
Seon: 2 (2, Jolt)
JHT: 1 (1, Beskar) [DID NOT FOLD]
DID NOT WAGER: Cultured Drizzt Fan, civplayah

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]

-
Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Round ends Thursday, August 5th, at 1159 (noon) Eastern Time USA, or 18+ hours from now.
-
Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
fold
Wager 4: Splitpersonality
Now it's a good even number.

That's a shame. i really, really wanted to lynch atheotes today.
I encourage anyone who wishes to wager on atheotes to please do so.

Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
Reduce 85 credits: splitpersonality.
Cuz I probably won't check this again before the lynch.

hmm, splits at 15, still in the lead, just don't think it's that likely that we pegged a mafioso and got 4 people to vote him and he self voted...
Deadline is close so I suppose I shall decide who to lynch.
hmm, jolt is the scummiest I guess, not a whole lot of content has gone out though.
wager 20: Jolt
Let's have a townie pact and say that no townie should put someone else in front of jolt without giving a thoroughly explained reason. None of this "wager 20 on so and so for jokey reason" leaving us wondering if it was a scumbuddy or just someone not paying attention.

And what is the reason that I am the scummiest? And why so close to the deadline?
Fold
Wager 30 on Sasaki Kojiro
EDIT: And I find it amusing that you are spouting townie pacts left and right, and yet you are the first person to break them all.

I dislike your posts. I dislike them a lot. And I dislike your pacts. And your flip-flopping.
Can you elaborate on anything you've said?
Either way, I'm breaking your "townie pact" to Fold; Wager 20: Sasaki and your post is the "thoroughly explained reason".

Your wager seemed off to me and I thought maybe your discussion of mafia strategy in this game was coming from a mafia point of view. Stood out more than most people who have just posted a wager.
Do you think split is scum? With the self vote and all? Then my saving him to vote the scummiest person is 100% a good play for town.

This is the townie pact yeah? Now what pact did I break? I didn't vote to save myself, you just did. And the problem with this setup is that scum can ALMOST ALWAYS vote to save themselves. If we allow people to vote to save themselves, scum will always do it, or else we will have to waste all of our credits putting big wagers on people.
A policy lynch is now required on jolt for the self-saving wager.
Arpeggiate is either scum with Jolt, or town if jolt is town (don't see scum wasting credits like that). You're a bit too angrily defensive of jolt.
My own townie pact prevents me from voting to save myself, so:
fold
cause I don't remember the word for increase
Wager 100 credits: Jolt
I will die if he's town. I suppose this is open to mafia exploitation too--but I think mafia would leave themself with enough credits to live if they could.
-
Re: Askthepizzaguy Mafia [In Play]
increase:
Raise ____ credits
No problem, this works too. Just FYI and stuff.

What do you dislike about them (posts and pacts)? Can you elaborate? You object to me moving my vote around looking for scum?

If you say you are breaking the pact, that means you don't think you have a thoroughly explained reason.
Why do you object to someone having to give a good reason for putting the LYNCHING wager on someone? Do you like random votes that lynch someone?
Do you have a theory where split and me are scumbuddies? Cause if I am scum, that would be the only reason to switch out and save him correct? If so, why do you think split is scummy?

wager 1 credit: Jolt
Sasaki, you're crazy you know.... You could wager around 60 instead of 100, that would still put Jolt in the lead, but you would survive if you're wrong.

The reason he's not doing that is so he doesn't survive if he's wrong.
If Jolt is anything but mafia, Sasaki dies and we, as the town, don't have to deal with someone who voted with 90 credits at the last minute to save themselves.

This is textbook of what you are doing so far. Besides you post this, half an hour before the round's up.

Besides, your entire argument lies on the fact that I waged 2 credits instead of one and that I'm actually discussing how the Mafia might proceed?
Too many coincidences and too much scummy behaviour.
Add 55 credits on Sasaki Kojiro
I'm certainly not gonna stand here and get lynched, even more so under the arguments you presented. I would suppose that will also make Beskar and any other person who discussed it (including you! :o), my Mafia buddies?
