As with other offers of help, I must decline until I've spent every dollar I have and exhausted all my options. I don't consider my friends a piggy bank.
If things go as I hope this Monday, I won't need anyone's help, and I will be standing on my own two feet again, and I will be able to repay what I've borrowed. Thank you however for the sentiment, it does mean a lot to me, and it is one of the reasons why I love this community and consider it the best place to hang out in all the tubes spanning all the interwebs.
The main reason for this thread was to say proper good-byes, because at the time I had indeed run out of money and options and that threatened to disconnect me from all of you. A temporary job (finally got my pay from that job, which they originally didnt send me...) and borrowed money later, I am still here, but I was getting down to my last month's worth of reserves. I need the interview on Monday to go well.
All I want for Christmas is a J-O-B.....

Re: Personal Announcement
When I was younger I worked at a few National Parks, such as Yosemite and Glacier, through the companies that run the hotels. It wasn't bad at all, and it wasn't really that hard to get a job with them.

Re: Personal Announcement
Best of luck with the interview, a winning smile and a little of your charm and I'm sure you'll get the job.

Re: Personal Announcement
If I was a millionaire. I will set up a business and put you in charge of it, Pizza, I am that confident of your abilities. Now, you need to go out there and strut your stuff and show others what you possess to make them confident as I am, in you.

Hmm, true, also you'd probably only be on two cases before they got smart and sent you to sleep with the fishes.

Judging by your crazy mafia skills, you'd probably be a good manager somewhere. Especially at somewhere big.

I hope you got it! Good luck!

Sorry, these people are stringing me along. I called them as they said, they said they were busy and would call me back. I haven't heard from them.
I'll follow up tomorrow. But this is all-too common for businesses to treat me like an afterthought.
I'll update you guys when I have something to report.

Re: Personal Announcement
They hired someone else.
I am frantic, searching for more leads. Due to automatic renewal of my car insurance, I'm also at less than what I need for rent.
I am going to spend all day applying at places even further away than I was looking. This is not good.

Re: Personal Announcement
I'm sorry pizza, I wish I could do something, but I'm on the other side of the country. My heart really does go out to you, and I'm sure you will find something, just don't give up. You're too good a guy to get this screwed over.

Re: Personal Announcement
Damn ATPG, sorry to hear all of this. The job market is tough these days. Just remember that 100 rejections don't mean anything so long as you get the one acceptance, then you're home and dry.

That's the idea. I'm just having trouble finding places that are even accepting applications.
Then, of those, 1 person gets hired out of 20 people applying. My number just keeps not coming up.

What city/area do you live in? That might explain why you aren't getting any jobs.

Orlando Florida. Florida's unemployment is bad, but with Orlando you'd think there'd be a job somewhere. Yes, I'm also using the Employ Florida job search website. 95% of those jobs require experience in that field, and I don't have the kind they're looking for.
There's not much out there for inexperienced people.

And be able to endure scorching heat of floridan summer inside a thick cloth. Oh, and there's children too.

I'm pretty sure that when I went to Disney World, not everyone working there was in an anthropomorphic suit

The employees that look like normal people are midgets in anthromorphic suits.
Hope things pick up for you pizza, when I read they asked you to phone them I knew you hadn't got the job, if an employer wants you they'll phone you. You tried getting, creative, with your cv yet?

Re: Personal Announcement
When I had access to a printer, I had a neatly printed resume and a cover letter with a short essay explaining that I have over a decade of working experience and an eagerness to be hired.
This seemed to impress a number of employers who commented positively on it, sadly though THOSE employers weren't hiring.
I always go dressed in nice pants and a button down shirt. I'm very professional and courteous. I'm not sure what else to do creatively that wouldn't be read as gimmicky and then also have negatives.
