Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Okay, since I don't feel like putting up a decent defense, unvote, vote: landlubber.
There has to be a day one lynch, right, so let's just get this silliness over with and have it be me. Go ahead, vote for me, everybody.
If anyone was wondering, I was a BIG 'UN. My vote counted twice.
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Then why are you committing suicide, when you might have had Subotan or Jarema lynched?
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Because I have no idea who they are. They might be town power roles. If they're mafia, I'm confident in the town's ability to weed them out later. For now, I'm content with being the lynch, if only to prevent a power role from being lynched.
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
I thought weighted votes were the only non-vanilla aspect of this game.
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Didn't you say you were a Big 'Un? If so, shouldn't you be a power role, or am I reading this incorrectly?

Oh man.
Unvote, vote: Landlubber
Someone is going to be lynched day one, and you're apparently so paranoid that you will hit a town power role, you'd rather self-vote, draw attention to yourself, and get yourself lynched, and need I remind you, as a double-voter, you ARE a power role.
This sort of nonsensical behavior is explicable if, let's say, it's bull feces reasoning for a scum trying to explain away his scummy behavior.
Lesson learned: No do that stuff anymore.

Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Resting in a musty tree
Lies a FREE SPIRIT; landlubber, me.
Convinced the town that I was scum,
but little did they know that it had just begun.
Now, I offer you a chance.
Redeem yourselves, fall out of my dance.
Lynch me yes or lynch me not,
This decision requires a lot of thought.
I've won, I've got you, you can't beat me!
All the victors are the ones that are FREE.
I tire of this, let me just begin.
Here's my entire role PM:

A Quicktopic has been set up here (not linking you to that, sorry)
Background:
You dwell in the dark forests of Limbo, away from. How long you have been here has escaped you, as has how exactly you arrived at Limbo. You do know that you are the leader of the Free Spirits, a group of children that have managed to evade a dreadful existence as Lost Souls. During the day, you wander to the Tribe and monitor their activities. While within the territory of the Tribe, you exist as little more than a shadow, and you can only keep in this form if sunlight is present- or, what sunlight exists in the dark forests of Limbo. During the night, all Free Spirits plan an attack on the Lost Souls. Your goal is to gain control over this section of Limbo. You believe that, if you do this, you shall be able to escape Limbo once and for all.
Abilities:
You don't have much influence in the Tribe. During the day, your vote carries a strength of: .5 (this is not directly revealed in the tally)
The Free Spirits are aggressive beings. During the night, the Free Spirits may kill one person as a group.
The Free Spirits are very protective of each other. If you are ever lynched by the Tribe while you are in their camp, the surviving Free Spirits gain an additional kill on every even numbered night.
Victory conditions:
Eliminate all members of the Tribe, or have more Free Spirits alive than Lost Souls at the beginning of any day phase (mafia victory)
So, you have a bit of a choice. Lynch your "confirmed mafia," or keep me alive in order to ensure the we, the FREE SPIRITS, have only one kill for the rest of the game.
Of course, I could be lying, and not have the ability I say I do at all. In this case, you should lynch me.
OR, I could be lying even more and just be a townie trying to have a bit of fun after I started an unintentional bandwagon on myself followed by deliberately scummy behavior. :laugh4:
You have an hour until the update. Choose your path carefully, my puppets.
Choose carefully.

Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
unvote, vote: landlubber
"Keep me alive! I'm mafia!"
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
We'll get a scum Day 1, excellent!
landlubber, thanks for the information, old chap!

Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
The only reason you would do such a reveal is to try and scare the town into not lynching you. So, it makes it difficult to take your threats of "Go ahead! Lynch me! Look at the bad things that'll happen to you if you do!" seriously when it is obviously a ploy to spare you from the lynch, as you have no reason to reveal that information (if it is even true) otherwise.
Oh, and quoting this so he can't edit it out:

Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Oh, how I laugh at this tomfoolery...
You think that I'd edit out that PM? I want you to see it, I crave people seeing my PM. I want everyone to think long and hard about my PM, about what happens when you lynch a FREE SPIRIT.
My FREE SPIRIT partners shall prevail, and the town shall fail. I say it proudly: I AM FREE.
FREER THAN ANY OF YOU COULD EVER HOPE TO BE.
AND WHEN WE TRIUMPH, AND ALL YOUR BODIES ARE SMASHED INTO THE GROUND BY OUR POWER, ONLY THEN SHALL YOU THINK ABOUT THESE DECISIONS THAT YOU'VE MADE.
ONLY THEN WILL YOU THINK, "oh, wait, we should have kept him alive." BECAUSE I'M YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE, AND YOU'RE IN LIMBO, SO YOU'VE PROBABLY HAD LOTS OF BAD DREAMS.
I'M THE WORST.
I'M THE WORST.
I'M THE WORST!
HAHAHAHAHA! YOU WILL FAIL.

Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Unvote; Vote : landlubber
Interesting logic. Well, if what you say is true, we should lynch you immediately. After all, that's how we win: lynching Mafia.
That's the idea. To lynch Mafia. And eventually, we will happen on another mafioso. He probably won't be so kind as to reveal, as you have done. So the same dual kill mechanic will take effect. No real difference, then. Maybe one or two townies will die sooner. Or maybe your early demise will create a net gain!
Moreover, we get to take a Mafia vote out of consideration - even if its only a weak half-vote.
*There are only 3 Mafia, maybe even two. Any more with this mechanic would be OP.*
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
You are out of touch with reality, my dear Montmorency. You think lynching me will BENEFIT you? The FREE SPIRITS laugh at your thought.
I cannot stress how HAPPY I am to see this playing out the way it has. Even dead, I'll still be more alive than you. I'll be watching, from the shadows, listening intently. I'll guide my FREE SPIRITS to the gates of Heaven.
And you can join us, Montmorency. All you have to do is keep your vote me, and you'll become FREE like me.
That's right, there's ANOTHER mechanic that I never told you about. UNTIL NOW
EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT VOTES FOR ME DURING MY LYNCH BECOMES A FREE SPIRIT!
HAHAHAHAHA.
THAT'S RIGHT! IN A FEW HOURS, WE WILL BE STRENGTHENED BEYOND BELIEF.
ANYTHING TO SAY FOR YOURSELVES? NO? I DIDN'T THINK SO.
I WIN, YOU LOSE. GAME OVER. HAVE A NICE DAY, LOST SOULS.
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Okay, now you're just spouting bullfeces.
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
I don't know if it's understood, but this phase is still 48 hours long, so town has a day to decide what's landlubber cooking, not few hours...
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
But if we all become Free Spirits, won't we all win?
Your bluster is shallow and desperate. We will never lynch a townie to spare a scumbag, for a slim shot at maybe keeping a couple extra individuals off the deathlist! No calculating utilitarian could stomach such arithmetic.
Arjos: It was 48 hours two days ago.

Would that be because you already are Mafia, Arjos?
That's right! I'm on to you...
-
Re: Leaving Limbo [In Play]
Ah, you are wiser than I predicted, Montmorency.
ARJOS WAS ONE OF US. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT?
MY FREE SPIRIT FRIENDS, KILL HIM! AT ONCE! MONTMORENCY DOES NOT DESERVE TO LIVE ANY LONGER!
