Sounds good to me. And yes I also think it'd be nicer to leave the GH so they can establish themselves.Quote:

1143 - The Battle of Mirror Lake: The Russians invade Novgorod, 1,040 attackers (King Vladimir 5*) against 1,420 defenders (Prince Boleslaw 3*). The terrain around the Russo-Finnish border is famous for its many pretty lakes and we deployed in a large forest to the left of one of them with cav behind the forest (1 khwarizm, 1 hobilar). The Russians uncertain of our position attacked around both sides of the lake: the cavalry, Boyars, Mounted x-bows and Horse archers to the south and foot and some horse archers around the north. The khwarizm were redoployed south and the hobilars north. The Russian vikings and woodsmen charge into the forest and met by our vikings/ woodsmen. Hobilars move in to flank but get caught by the Russian woodsmen in the forest and are routed. Fortunately a second flanking unit of vikings has better luck, at the same time muwahids and Italian Inf flank on the other side and all the Russians rout. The hobilars rally and take over 160 prisoners. On the south side the Russians attack piecemeal, first one urban militia, then boyars, then mounted x-bows then more boyars. Khwarizms attack the King who skirmishes away, but then attacks the Khwarizms together with HA and routs them. Meanwhile both Russian princes are dead and there are maybe 100 Russians effective left, as their reinforcements have been routed by our northern group. The Russian King withdraws leaving 350 Russian dead to 450 Poles (mostly mercs) and 390 Russian prisoners (all executed).
1144 - Invade Finland, damn them Ruskies have a new Prince, these Boyars are very annoying, loose 270 kill 200, very messy battle chasing enemy cavalry all over the place, begin seige.
1145 - Assault with all remaining mercs, success Ruskies refuse to ransom King Vlad and Prince Chort (5*) is now King in Crimea.
1146 - Invade Ryazan and Prezymsyl, small battles as Russian garrisons less than 100 each.
1147 - Can't hold either of the Russian provinces as loyalty is too low, also Finland needs huge garrison so no troops are available, have to abandon new provs. General loyalty problems throughout the Realm, including core Prussia, Volhnyia and Lithuania http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/frown.gif. Cash situation still tight but at least we arent loosing money, some agri upgrades ordered.
And now for the international news: France is recognised as the greatest power in the world, emissaries report great infrastucture in Flanders and Wessex. The English only hold Aquitaine, Northumbria and Mercia. Presumably Aragonese hold Tolouse (GA info, France dont hold Tolouse). The Byz defeat Sicilians in Bulgaria and it looks like they have retaken Constantinople. The HRE has collapsed, we dont know where the Emperor is but Brandenburg has only 15 men garrison and Lord Albrecht Bar has seized Saxony, and various rebel bandits are terrorizing Bohemia, many refugees are fleeing to Poland.
1148 - The Sicilians strike back driving the Byz out of Bulgaria and Constantinople, they have 2,400 men in Bulgaria alone, albeit 1,700 of them peasants.
Last year there was finally some money and with new recruits the plan to finish of the Russians begins: Lor Jagiollion attacks Ryazan, Prince Boleslaw Prezymsyl, and Lord Herman Crimea.
1149 - All battles are won, in Ryazan all the Russians were killed in battle. Prezymsyl castle is assaulted, and given the low loyalty of many provinces, I am not going to risk a Russian re-emergence, Crimea is magnanimously abandoned, for the sake of peace.
1150 - Church bells toll around greater Poland celebrating the peace with Russia, Prince Chort only holds Crimea with 156 men. Meanwhile France is now the richest nation as well as the most powerful, and Prince Andronicus and the Byz have driven the Sicilians out of Bulgaria for the second time. Our financial situation is much improved, with 1,100 fl in the bank and a +992 fl income.
King Mieszko is 34, there are two heirs - Wladyslaw (12) and Casimir (7). Poland has 52 GA points, next are Italy with 27 and then Turks and Byz on 24 each(the losses to Sicily seem to have been quite severe).

I am sorry about the lack of pictures, but I dont have any webspace to post them in adn to be quite honest I dont even know how to go about doing it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...embarassed.gif
I could host some... PM me about it if you're interested. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/smile.gif

I hope this works - thans for the offer Wiz Eastside showed me how to upload stuff to the org.
It seem a bit too big, I will try to get it smaller next time
Oh those are the rebels in Livonia I think I will try to bribe (3,000 fl) 4* general. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
Hmmm...
Where do crossbowmen come from? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/confused.gif
It's supposed to be early era (till 1205 A.D.)
And they are not mercs... maybe bribed rebels? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...c-confused.gif
I have MTW 1.1 and it doesn't allow to build them(if not to edit crusaders_unit_prod11.txt http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wink.gif )
Those are still independant rebels Buka ;)
Had to take a second look myself at first.
Looking good.....I dont think it's worth going to war with the Brzantine just yet (but you're in a better position to tell) as we seem to be relying on Mercs (which I personally dont like that much http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/flat.gif but thts just me) . Otherwise you're lining up to be King Miesko The conquorer cos of the land grabs http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
Most of the mercs are dead, very bravely too in battles in Novgorod, Finland and then assault in Finland.
You are right about taking on the Byz, we are way behind uin infrastructure, the standard french army is full of all kinds of seargents, feudal, mounted, militia. We have only have spears and woodsmen http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...-2thumbsup.gif
A Short Peace 1150 - 1156: Trying to build up armouries, spears adn archery workshops, town militia etc. A little slow as net income is +900, so only one or two structures can be built at a time. A port is nearly finished in Novgorod and Lithuania has a trading post. With luck there will be some Baltic trade by 1170 (?). Hungary keeps refusing all peace offers, emisaries, bishops, princesses. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/frown.gif
1156 - The Turks rudely awaken us from our rest - they send a raiding party to Khazar, but the Byz beat them back. A quick check shows Byz only hold Wallachia, Khazar, Ryazan and the Islands. Turks and Sicilians hold everything else Khazar is a good catholic province (60%), the king declares it a protectorate and promises to defend christians from turkish depredations.
1157 - War with Byz; Aragon, Spain and Denmark cancel their alliances - who can compete with the Emperors influence? Our remaining allies are Pope, Sicily and France. Ryazan is undefended (castle will fall in 4 yrs) and in Khazar we loose 200 men for 150 enemy dead and 50 prisoners. A profitable year, 1,000fl loot, 1,000fl ransom, net treasury +3,200 fl Unfortunately the best general Prince Boleslaw (4*) who had many traumatic experiences during htge Russian wars is now merciless, bad for morale http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/frown.gif .
On our borders, the Byz have 1,100 men in Wallachia (Lord Comnenus, 7*) and the Turks in Georgia have 1,200 (Amir Gazi, 6*?), though there is no open war against them.
King Mieszko is 42 IIRC, and Prince Wladislaw (2*) 20. Prince Casimir is 15.

I asked a friend who has version 1.1 to take the game. He's agreed. His screen name will likely be Omneleupi so you can put him down as that.
Any news from king Mieszko III?
*ghost of king Wladyslaw II emerges

Ok King Mieszko hasnt fallen ot the 56 year disease. I think the situation is quite good as it stands. I will post the liks to the pics once the .org fairies unzip them and put them up in the folder (thank you mods and .org http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif )

1158 - Lord Comnenus tries to break out of the siege in Ryazan. He is a mighty champion, singlehandedly killing over 25 steppe cavalrymen and Lord Jagillieonocyk and 6 men of his body guards (RKs). In all we loose 52 men to their 64 and take 7 prisoners.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/stor...ZAN%201158.JPG
A Byz force of 635 also invade Moldavia, but only five return http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif. Lord Herman's star is ascending swiftly (from 0* to 3* in a series of battles starting ith the autoresolved in Prezymsyl).
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/stor...VIA%201158.JPG
The Turks have massively reduced there armies in Georgia - is this a trap?
1159 - King Mieszko send an invisible messenger to the Russian King, bearing gifts of blue paint and new horseshoes. The visible emmisaries fail to secure peace with either the Byz or the Hungarians. In a great victory for Catholicism, the crusading French have taken Constantinople So that is where the Turks have gone Prince Wladyslaw is ordered to to assemble an army to deal with the rebels in Livonia.
1160 - Alas, the Turks have retaken Constantinople The have many powerful armies and skilled generals But that didnt save the Byz did it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wink.gif It also appears that the Queen has finally convinced the King that she is prettier than the King's invisible mistress - after a gap of 16 years, suddenly there have been two new Princes and a Princess
A Second Era of Peace:
1161 - 1172 Given the lull in the Byzantine war, we assail the rebels. Prince Wladyslaw takes Livonia (where Prince Casimir dies with 500 Poles and 400 Livonians). In 1162 the Danes take Saxony, we respond by seizing Bohemia (1163). The Foreign service reports two great coups Poland has the largest armies in the world and Princess Swastewa marries King Harald of Denmark himself Unfortunately the Danes immediately break the alliance in favour of the Byz http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/frown.gif. Meanwhile the Italians have driven the Sicilians out of Italy, our cousin King Roger was captured and executed by the criminals and the new King,Geoffrey, is reduced to Bulgaria and Greece. The Pope is so incensed by this vile deed that he excommunicates the Italian Doge. In 1168 Spain destroys the Almohads. While Spain is a good catholic brother, it means that the Egyptians are unlikely to distract the Turks as they will likely be too busy to the west.
1172 - the Year of Joy Unbounded: Poland commissions its first warship in Novgorod. Prince Leszek comes of age and the King survives the 56 year disease unscathed. Poland is also recognized as the most powerful Realm in Europe and the richest, and the French are excommed for the second time.
1174 - Poland has a navy All expenditure is halted to build ships round the clock in Novgorod and Lithuania.
King Mieszko is 58, having reigned for 36 years. Prince Wladyslaw is 36, Leszek 19, and young Prince Henry 15. The treasury is at 800fl with a net +900fl.

Well done o_loompah...I still need to look at the savegmae but all seems well. I will upload the files when I get home. Who is next?

The King is dead Long live King Wladyslaw III
Well in the event, Mieszko lived only four more years to 1178.
The years 1174 - 1178 were just as peaceful as the ten before them, with an emphasis on developing trade. Diplomatic ties with the French were immproved with a double marriage of Prince Henry and Prince Louis (they took one of the princesses, don't know which Prince though). Peace negotiations with Hungary and the Byzantines failed, and Spain and Denmark rejected alliance offers. Meanwhile the Aragonese were eliminated by France. Denmark has a nice little Scandanavian empire, and the Papal/Sicilian alliance seems to have given the Italians a drubbing - they no longer hold Venice and Tuscany.
The King died peacefully in his castle drawing up plans for the Jagioellan University (new GA goal, will be long time before we get there). He reigned forty years, and though Polish armies conquered many territories, the King never fought a battle himself.
We lead in GA with 59 pts, well ahead of everyone else. The Turks are second on 42, followed by Italy on 35. The treasury is at 1,500 fl with a net +1,000 fl.
King Wladyslaw should also note the high risk of revolt in Smolensk Also ex-Prince Boleslaw (4*) and ex-Prince Lezsek (2*) are now 'normal' generals and the governorships of Livonia and Pomernia have command bonuses

I will PM Buka wiht the email account and post links as they appear on the upload site.
