I'm sad to see the thracians getting the axe (pun intended). The illyrians are a worthy successor of course. However, I think I recall that you wanted to add another eastern faction in case you decide to eliminate another "western" faction. This no longer seems to be the case. Any special reasons why?
Not that I dislike the Illyriansor thracians (if it were up to me we'ld have no faction limit, and about three dozen european factions), but I'm still a bit worried about the eastern expanses.... . I know your not ballancing any factions - again a decision I can happily live with, as it adds another kind of difficulty level (beside a lot of immersion)- but I'm basically worried that playing bactia (sp?) could be a bit ... boring.
I really like the unique buildings. I guess, since they're unique (duh), they cannot be upgraded. However, what kind of building limitations have you decided on implementing? Historically, they should already be present. But what if they're destroyed? Can they be rebuilt? Do the cities have to be deveoloped to a certain level (population?)?
Anyway, thanks for your time and effort. Keep up the good work.
Factions are chosen based on different factors, including historical impact, aggressiveness, nation-building, and so on. We don't "fill holes," though of course some factions that had less of an impact are more difficult to get rid of than others. In many cases this sort of debate is highly subjective, so there are many good choices.
I should note that the whole Illyria thing was also an April fool's joke. The units you see will exist, but not as a part of an Illyrian faction. We do have many regional units available; you have seen some Scythian ones in the past, as well as many others.
OK, you definately got me then. Sigh. Still...thanks for the units.Quote:

Why boring? The Seleucid Empire and Parthia are right there for the taking and you will have some of the most unique units, what more do you want? ~:)Quote:

Some may already be there, others might be built and bare in mind that it is possible to make buildings undestructable. Remember roads and farms.Quote:

Don´t be so hard on yourself ~;) and welcome to the board.Quote:

I worry that it "could" be boring only for bactria, because it appears that they will face a limited number of factions up to the latter part of the game. I don't know, of course, how the play test resulted. If parthia or the seleucids expand towards the east, or prefer bickering with their more imediate neighbours. Anyway, my post might have sounded more negativ then I have intended.Quote:

You're right. I had forgotten that. Perhaps because I'm always eager to wipe out my oponents religious buildings.Quote:

And thank you for your welcome.
Most of my posts here on the OPEN forum were made before I became an EB member and have no direct relation to my work.Quote:

Anyways my job at EB is Building Coordinator (which is a lot more work than I thought), among other things. I also try to help here and there when I can, for example, seeing this week´s bulletin, I also made some (6 I think) of the Unique building´s descriptions, and plan to do some more. And hopefully, some of the code and concept regarding the buildings, will be made by me, for the Beta release. ~;)
There is currently no plans to include a manual that I know of (if that´s what you mean by documentation), though I have already thought of it and planned to submit the idea. If it is indeed released, I plan to make some of the work, obviously.
Byzantine Prince will be heartbroken if you don't include this rainbow hotdog unit.
Aside from that, the buildings look great. Have you got them set up in the battle map as well?
I can't wait. You and this game have inspired me. I have found new passion for this era, having read Kagan's "The Peloponesian War" in short time. "The Making of the Roman Army: From republic to empire" (Keppie) and "The Celtic Realms: The history and culture of the celtic peoples from prehistory to the norman invasion" (Dillon & Chadwick) are both next in line.
I can't get enough.
Thanks team. I look forward to my studies brought to life in your work.
are you saying that BP is gay
I'll say no more. I don't want this thread to spiral into the gutter.
I just happened to notice from his previous posts that he has an affinity for greek... uhm... stuff.
lol.....let´s not go there, people.
Are you saying you something wrong in BP if BP was indeed gay? And that's a big if. Here's a balloon :balloon2: as promised.Quote:

No way will the east be be boring. Between the Sarmatians, many rebels, the Selecuids, Parthians and Bactrians, it will be quite interesting.
not if you're playing as the kushans..Quote:

I would fully expect to see stiff competition from at least four factions over a lot of the east. It will be great to see who comes out on top in the playtesting. Baktria moved around historically, it would be awesome to see something like that happen on its own - though I can't expect it to.
Hello all.
I am new to this forum and entered here from a reference.
I must admit i hate :furious3: the color of the skin choosen for The Sacred Band. "PINK" how come? Pink didn`t existed in that time and wasn`t in any way associated with homosexuality. The shield has the colors of the rainbow. It is just like a freaking gay parade (esxuse me but :furious3: ....).
PLZ change the color. It is a shame to dishonor all those brave soldiers of the past.
About homosexuality in ancient Greece.
It is a very misunderstood subject. If you made all that research about your new skin then you should research :book: also about historic facts of the time.
Uhm... guy. It was a joke. April fool's day. Welcome to the Org, but read the rest of the thread before you post. There are not going to be any pink warriors with rainbow shields running around with penii exposed.
Feel better?
I was to :furious3: to read the whole thread.
So when this new mod will be available?
I suggest that you browse this forum. You will find all of the answers with a little patience. Choose topics that are reflective of general information. Sarcasm's "The lost art of keeping a secret" is a good thread, and so is "Introducing Europa Barborarum".
I'm sure you will find yourself shocked at how in depth this mod actually is.
I'm too :furious3: to stop working on the mod to answer posts with questions which have been answered already ad nauseum in these forums.Quote:

...Seriously, I would have liked to see the Illyrians as their own faction, or at least one of the tribes from that area... can we pleeease have an Illyrian faction?
I dont' think so. I'm an Epirote, he just mispelled it, so he's probably foreign.Quote:
