I see, thanks for the explanation, it can prevent embarrassing situations ~D Still, I share The Wizard's opinion. Perhaps the inch and foot system was useful in 1500 AD but it's no longer pertinent.Quote:

5'11.8" You can tell I'm craving that 6ft height. ~
5'8", still growing though. I guess the cereals do work ~
approximately 1.80 Meters, have no idea what that is in feet .
:balloon2:
The English system is horrible (I believe that is what it is called.). The metric system is far superior...
I know my height in feet because my parents are both 5'8" and I am 2-4 inches taller than them.
5'4" and I think I'm shrinking.
Had to check to make sure the thread wasn't "How big are you" ~;)
Metric is for schools, Imperial is for measurements of the body, gold, meat, and everything else... Imperial stimulates the mind, because there is more arithmetic required (12 inches = 1 foot, 3 feet = 1 yard, 1760 yards = 1 mile, not 1000mm = 1m)
I am 5' 11", and growing...
Metric is far more accurate and there is no reason why it couldn't be used for everything. Because you do not use fractions with the metric system it is much easier to do measurements.
Actually, that's about average, if you catch my drift ~;)Quote:

See why it is the really short club?
5'11"
exactly, so it decays the minds of those taught to use it, whereas Imperial stimulates the mind.Quote:

1 inch of six foot for the past 6 months and i'm getting angry at the sheer thought of it
:furious3: :furious3: :furious3:
But couldn't you stimulate the minds of the students with other things such as the material for which they need the metric system?
Most people I know use the Imperial system and trust me it stimulating their minds does not help them....
