You've discovered the early version of Run DMC vs Jason Nevins' music video for 'It's like that'.
Money is the key to end all your woes

I hear that the the Romani do a pretty nice formation robo-disco.

I like this one. Real epic battle feel without any special effects or anything. Really cool.

Here's one I took earlier today: A Greek general evades death while attempting to rally his forces, after being ambused while on an inspection tour. The screenshot doesn't look quite as good as it did in-game, but I still like it. :book:
There's an interesting story/AAR around the battle from which this screenshot was extracted, but I didn't know where to post it.

Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
Will be even cooler when we add new greek generals...
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
Indeed it would...... although I've actually come to really like the vanilla ones... weird..... I love seeing them.....

Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
Sometime ago I was gripped with a desire to replay the battle of Delphi. Naturally, I did not let my complete ignorance about the truth of this historical battle stand in the way of my desire, so I loaded an EB custom battle with Makedon as defender against an Aedui army.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB1.jpg
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB2.jpg
The Makedonian army, commanded by general Tychikos, starts on a slope overlooking the valley of Delphi. Unfortunately, the Gauls led by Enestinos start higher on the same slope, so I put my army as much to the side as possible in order to minimize the Gauls' height advantage.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB3.jpg
Initially this seemed to work as the Gauls run headlong at my repositioned army. Unfortunatly, I did not judge my position correctly, because my troops ending up standing right in front of a ridge. This ridge might have given me the edge I needed but when I discovered this it was already too late.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB4.jpg
The Gaulish rush is in stark contrast with the disciplined orderliness of the Makedonian line.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB8.jpg
My plan was to put my strongest cavalry and infantry at the right to smash the Gallic left and roll up their line. At the left I put my Hypaspistai to stabilize that part of the line and make it last long enough for my Hetairoi to do their work.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB9.jpg
Despite the impetuousness of the main Gallic line, the first attack comes from a unit of Brihentin at the left flank. My Hypaspistai hurriedly turn towards this threat and charge. A unit of Thessalian horse reposition themselves and attack the Brihentin's flanks.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB10.jpg
On the right flank things are not looking so rosy. The Gallic line is far longer than mine and my cavalry cannot hit Gaul infantry without exposing themselves to two units of Mala Gaeroas. Instead, I surrounded the MG's with a unit of Hetairoi and a unit of Thessalians. Much to my suprise they do not break, and are actually still fighting when General Enestinos and his unit of Brihentin come charging in.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB11.jpg
However, this provides me with an opportunity to destroy Gallic leadership, and Tychikos and his companions charge Enestinos in the flank.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB12.jpg
Meanwhile, the main battle lines have made contact, but the Gauls do not attack my center and instead focus on my vulnerable flanks.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB13.jpg
On my left things are going wrong as well. Although most of their unit was wiped out, the Brihentin kept on fighting until reinforcements (a unit of Leuce Epos and one of Mala Gaeroas) arrived. Overwhelmed by Gaullic numbers first the Thessalians and then the Hypaspistai rout. A unit of Taxeis Phalangitai hurredly turns to face the Gallic horse.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB14.jpg
On the right flank, things have gone from bad to worse. My cavalry was unable to either rout the intrepid Mala Gaeroas or kill Enestinos, and Aedui infantry flanked my phalanx line. Despite the efforts of my phalangilites and light forces my right flank has turned into a chaos.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB15.jpg
Enestinos proving too slippery for Tychikos to catch, my general now turns his attention to the left flank to relieve the pressured Taxeis Phalangitai.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB16.jpg
The Mori Gaesum break and Tychikos goes head-to-head with Enestinos once more. This time there is no escape.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB17.jpg
On the far left my Akontistai have rallied and go hand-to-hand with the rampaging Gallic Leuce Epos in a desperate attempt to save their own skin.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB18.jpg
My whole battleline is a mess: in a futile attempt to set off a chain rout I lose my cavalry units, almost causing a rout on my side. Tychikos lost his entire bodyguard and ran as well. I must say I am suprised that my infantry is still holding.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB19.jpg
This doesn't last long however, one by one the remaining groups of Makedones rout until the last unit of Pezhetairoi drops their pikes and flee.
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB20.jpg
http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/story/LudensEB21.jpg
This is a black day for the Hellenes, as Macedonian arms have proved insufficient to protect the most sacred place in Greece, and Delphi lies open for the Barbarians to plunder.
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
Awesome... so. very. awesome.
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
But it was sort of cadmean victory for the Keltoi ...
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
Some of the screenshots posted here have been uploaded and added to the EB Screenshot Gallery here:

Hope someone aren't mad that their screenie is up there. If you have better suggestions for descriptions then PM me them rather than derail this thread.
Thanks for the screenshots!
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
I know that I can get screenshots now because I downloaded fraps, but is there any way to get access to the .tga shots I took before downloading fraps? I tried a .tga viewer, but the screens just showed up black. Its rather sad, because I had the most beautiful battle earlier this afternoon.
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
I think you must turn off anti-aliasing to get the non-black screenies.

The weirdest battlefield i ever had in EB. Almost all terrain is with thick forest, it's very hard to see a thing in there, it was a terrible fight and i lost (though the AI had bigger army, but still).
Re: Your favourite EB screenshots
I really hate it when you get a map like that and it's where a rebel army is sitting, and you can't make them move - you may retreat from the battle since the terrain is not in your favor, but they won't come after you or budge, they just sit there in their wooded fortress. I sometimes just auto resolve those, but the results usually aren't in my favor.
