Re: What Religion are you??
How many promilles are needed to perceive the Leperchauns then ? I assume the imbibiment of sufficient beverages can be costrued as some kind of sacred feast...
I voted Atheist, mainly for lack of better options. Plus it goes under the category I check in the official papers whenever necessary.
Re: What Religion are you??
Note the correlation between the religious categories the forumers chose and their political opinions.
Any comments?

On a good day, they can appear as early as eight in the evening and after only four or five Murphys.
There is a tradition of spilling beer on the floor as a sacred libation to the leprechauns as they start appearing - the more you spill, the more likely they are to show you the field where they have stashed their gold. (You know, the field that tradition holds you will forget the location of in the morning. It's a mystery why the leprechauns have this power of erasing the memory, when one was so lucid in the wee dark hours).
Re: What Religion are you??
Ah, but for a teetotaler Leprechauns do not exist!
Unless, of course, he (me) went through a 26-hours period of pure gaming marathon. Orges, orcs, Thrall, Arthas, WoW, Stalingrad, Mortis&Gallean, Thebes the Greek city in Zeus, Leprechauns...
They all came alive. :sweatdrop:
Re: What Religion are you??

In all honesty, I have not read any particular passage in the Bible that states that God will smite you if you don't go to church. If that is what your preacher told you, scoff at him for distorting the doctrine and personalize a supposed word of divinity. Not that I believe, but...
Of course, somebody else might correct me on that.
Besides, if this God is real, I doubt such an omniscient being have any care if a particular drop of water in an ocean goes to another drop of water in the same big ocean or not.

I believe we do it about equally, but we always send out stapping young men, whereas the JW's have legions of kindly old women.
Re: What Religion are you??
Mormon with Pastafarian leanings.
I think the closest on the list is 'other Christian,' though some have kindly tried to convince me I don't believe in Jesus :inquisitive: . As for BHCWarman, yes, we're among those who'll come a'knockin, and I must say that those two years of my life were very . . . educational.

Re: What Religion are you??
I'm a Christian-Protestant but I'm agnostic. I used to be a Buddist when I was young before converting to Christainity due to studying in a Catholic school but rejected the Catholic teachings and lean towards Protestant. Now that I'm older, I consider myself agnostic questioning about God, the Bible and things like that.
Re: What Religion are you??
To be a religion IMO involves belief.
How people can change every now and again what are supposed to be their innermost beliefs is something I find very difficult to understand, along with those that have "chrises of belief" the minute something bad happens to them. Sure, God has been either actively causing the terrible things in the world a la Old Testament or is ignoring it all a la New Testament. But since their little world has finally been affected they are unsure what they believe ~
I've spent 2 weeks with a very Christian family, and what I find worrying was that my knowledge of their holy book was probably greater than theirs. Of course discussions on matters such as "where have all the other texts from the early / proto Bible gone" were very coldly received. Apparently man removing some of God's work is not important...
Most will not be surprised (or indeed can remember from before) that I am agnostic. IMO the only rational belief to hold. Atheism can often be held with a fervour greater than many religious people, and the mere absence of evidence does not conclude a theory it is as deeply flawed as those that sort of follow old story books... Oh, sorry! I mean the exact word of God.
