Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
Metroid Prime was the first in the series I played, shortly followed by Fusion, and then later by Prime 2 and Zero Mission. Of those Zero Mission was my favourite. Prime 1 and Fusion were about equal. I find the 2D Metroids easier to control, but the 3D games have a better sense of wonder to them. Tallon was an amazing place to explore.
I'm hoping Prime 3 will address the control issues the earlier games had. Trying to lock on to targets above or below the standard line of sight could be a nightmare.
I want Super Metroid! :glares at complete lack of a GBA port of the game, and at its absense on the Virtual Console:
I, too, want a proper DS Metroid game. 2D not 3D; SP not MP. They could ignore the touchscreen facility completely, bung the map on the top screen, et voila, happiness.
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
A properly converted Super Metroid for the GBA would be excellent. They could adapt the controls to more or less resemble the Metroid Fusion control layout. The graphics would probably be slightly updated. Etcetera.
But noooo, Nintendo will not allow it. Such a good game as Super Metroid is to be re-released on one of the newer handhelds and I have noticed there exist people aplenty who would wish it. Nintendo enjoys milking out its cash cows: why not milk out Super Metroid with a re-release?
If I am to speculate, perhaps it is due to the Wii. I do not have this console but if I'm not mistaken they sell ROMs (or something alike) through downloads to be played on it? Perhaps they are quite comfortable with that thinking there is no need for a(n) SM's handheld release.
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
Yeah, it will probably become available on the Wii's virtual console, having it on a handheld would be wild though. Kinda sad how nintendo is letting the GBA slip, such an excellent little machine.
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
Nintendo is to heed their Metroid fans. If there were only a way to convince them.
One of the other Japanese institutes I dislike is Konami or more precise the particular department (or is it a separate company) of Hideo Kojima regarding the Metal Gear Solid series. Reason: they make no PC versions of this series and when they do it is usually far beneath its Playstation equivalent.
There should be a proper MGS2 (Substance) for this one was truly bad on the PC, and there is to be an MGS3 ported to PC -- a good port. MGS4 and so on; same story.
Don't get me started on joypad support for PC's MGS2 Substance, and more. Terrible.
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
Hey, if Nintendo could be convinced to drop Pokemon, it would help a bit. I mean, sure, the first few games were "okay" but now it's kind of always the same. And the story is "insert vulgar term here", as well as always the same.

It's still great fun though and bloody addictive too. :2thumbsup:
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
True, but some of their efforts could be directed to other things - like getting Intelligent Systems working on another handheld Fire Emblem, or finding ways of keeping the GBA alive.

Ya, I never caught the Pokemon bug (thank god), but it's still wildly popular. They'd be crazy to stop making them.

I sorta agree about the GBA, but you've got to admit, it had a helluva run.
I don't see myself buying many (any?) new games for it, but I recently got a GBA micro and it made many of my old games play like new again. :2thumbsup:

The little darling is cool, but my hands are just too big, can't reach the shoulder buttons, so went back to the SP. I could of course play GBA games on the DS, but it's just more apropiate olaying them on the real thing.

I believe Advance Wars 2 has been announced/sheduled.
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
Is out, too.
Has been for some time, I think.
There's Dual Strike that's been out for DS, but since I don't have that console...
Re: What game/company are you most annoyed
Err... I meant to say Advance Wars DS 2
