I will do that. Your welcome to add the mod to your .rar if you would like, but it's a fairly small download, so it shouldn't be a huge problem.Quote:

- test KH.sav
do I need to uninstall t get rid of Balancedv1.1.rar to make way for RP_modeV1.1.rar or do they edit the same text files?
EDIT:
nevermind, they edit the same .txt files and I need to delete my save games when i delete the map.rwm
It works!!!
now as soon as I get FRAPs working I will, as my first order of business...
- raised taxes to very high
- free Athenai from the Makedon siege
(those Makedonians way outnumber us, how unfortunate)
all you had to do was install this and the darth formations mod

:laugh4:
(you seriously need to use this because I personally modded the script)

you should have just used my file, so we know 100% that we are all on the same build of EB.
the reign of the Rhodian Hegemon begins...
https://img406.imageshack.us/img406/...summer1qf6.jpg
taxes are raised to a very high degree to finance the war... and freeing Athenai is of greatest priority... the stage is set for a great battle, for the forces of Makedon greatly outnumber the courageous Greeks. A new group of Hoplitai Haploi are being trained at Chalkis.
https://img214.imageshack.us/img214/...summer2lo7.jpg
Amazingly, the larger of the Makedonian armies retreats back to Demetrias! Perhaps Phyrrus has diverted the black banners to defend Pella! We can only hope... but this is a great occurance for our victory is almost assured... with the forces at Chalkis and the garrison of Athenai, together the Hellenic forces outnumber those of our enemies. Akontistai at Korinthos are retrain as messengers from Rhodos ask Chalkis and Thenai to strike quickly while the gods throw fortune our way...
https://img406.imageshack.us/img406/...ebattleql8.jpg
Our forces ready themselves to attack the besiegers, composed of Thessalian cavalry and a group of Classical Greek Hopitai. But we must be cautious of the reinforcements, though we outnumber them, phalanxes are definitely a pain in the Greek ass.
....
The Battle to Free Athenai
https://img106.imageshack.us/img106/...battle1iv4.jpg
The battle begins. The Athenians are late as usual, and the Spartan army of Chalkis finds itself battling the besiegers to the east AND (soon) the reinforcements to the north. The Athenian forces lag behind and struggle to catch up in-time to aid their brethren.
https://img406.imageshack.us/img406/...battle2fa6.jpg
Hoplitai rush at one another, but surely Greek valor will prevail against the Makedonian oppression. Who do these fools think they are? Fighting as classic hoplitai? Who can beat the Greeks at their own fighting style? Hahahaha
https://img337.imageshack.us/img337/...battle3xx2.jpg
The Hoplitai Hoploi and our brave general battle the Thessalian cavalry. The enemy captain is clearly seen leading his horsemen. Brave... but stupid...
https://img212.imageshack.us/img212/...battle4uo7.jpg
As the Athenian forces catch up, our troops surround the Thessalians. Today we laugh at the times when tremple upoen hearing their hooves, we shall fear them no longer! (as long as we have 10x as many spears as they have horses)
https://img504.imageshack.us/img504/...battle5lf4.jpg
The Thessalian cavalry flee!
https://img77.imageshack.us/img77/92...battle6hy2.jpg
The Makedonian hoplites are routed. It is quite fitting that of the two regiments they are the last to flee, as they fight in our Hellenic battle-formation.
https://img212.imageshack.us/img212/...attle7anp6.jpg
https://img260.imageshack.us/img260/...attle7bzm5.jpg
Bodies litter the battlefield, but the fight is but half won, we still have the reinforcements to the north to deal with!
https://img251.imageshack.us/img251/...battle8bw4.jpg
Our forces rush to meet the new threat... the Akontistai and Sphendonetai are already on the hill giving the Makedonians a nice mid-day shower of iron and wood.
https://img206.imageshack.us/img206/...battle9rz5.jpg
Using the Hoplitai Hoploi, the phalanx is pinned, and then Spartans come from the side and rear to break the formation apart...
https://img251.imageshack.us/img251/...attle10dt5.jpg
The enemies are breaking, unable to hold their nerve against our pinning tactic!
https://img206.imageshack.us/img206/...attle11iz9.jpg
Peltasti charge into the rear of the phalanx whole our Spartans and hoplites pin them down. Classic tactic.
https://img250.imageshack.us/img250/...attle12nf3.jpg
A phalanx is surrounded and our general rushes north to attempt to catch fleeing enemies.
https://img206.imageshack.us/img206/...attle13fs3.jpg
A captain fallen, that should teach those Makedonian dogs not to mess with Greeks!
https://img206.imageshack.us/img206/...attle14pn4.jpg
The enemies flee...
https://img77.imageshack.us/img77/27...attle15lj6.jpg
We killed nearly 80% of the enemy forces while losing a few Classic hoplites and a most of a levy hoplite regiment. No matter, levies can be cheaply retrained! This is a great victory indeed.
https://img207.imageshack.us/img207/...tbattleuj0.jpg
A military complex is being started in Athenai, so that Ekdromoi Hoplitai can be recruited in the future... that should help us have more successful flanking and pinning faster, till we get better cavalry
This all in the first 2 turns, the summer of 270 BC
damn it!
alright, I didn't see that link till this morning, after i had started playing...
so should I post up the new KH.sav and have you test it out to see if it is compatible on your build? and if not then I will restart all I've done?
sure, post the savegame
It will most likely be compatible, but it would be a good idea to use Spoofa's script in the future. As long as it's compatible, I don't see a big problem with it. BTW, I've updated the first post in what is supposed to be our OOC thread (although this one is basically both that now) with the proper links. Please download those if you haven't already done so.
@Nikolaus
Sorry about that, you can go after Bobolicious.

let me know how it goes
thank you all for your patience
it should be fine.
so I can continue?Quote:

- My term as Hegemon ends Winter269, I do not have long, as Hegemon, nor as a living soul
- Apologies Spartans and Athenians for bossing your forces but the defense of Athenai was imperative
- We have a potentially decisive route we can take... sacking Pella itself!
The Ptolemaioi and the Makedonians have declared a ceasefire... pity...
But for now we are the most advanced faction, though I doubt it will last long
Our brave general of the last battle returns to Chalkis, and begins retraining the severely thinned ranks of the heroic Hoplitai Haploi unit. Farms are being developed in Sparte and Chalkis, they should in later years greatly aid our production.
...late summer of 270 BC
The Makedonians gather in Demetrias and it is swollen with a strong garrison, a mighty obstacle for us Greeks. Thus, in preparation for a bloody conflict, I have decided to declare a ceasefire with Arche Seleukeia.
Pella is defended by a strong army and it is itself weak and relatively vulnerable to attack... if only we could land an army near it by sea...
and my son Eugenios Rhodios is but 6 years old, and I have one foot in the grave... too bad I was the 40-year-old virgin, maybe I shoulda gotten to baby-making earlier on :laugh4:
Winter of 270 BC
With the navies of Arche Seleukeia no longer hounding our shores, Rhodos is now constructing a better port to increase our trade fleets by 4.
Forces of Epeiros and Makedon face off, but the black banners have the advantage. However, this means they have sent their northern army north to deal with Epeiros or Eleutheroi... Pella lies open like a sleeping virgin.
Our spy has found that Phyrrus' armies are indeed expanding into Illyria, lazy bastard... no matter, we share have the exclusive glory of slaying the Antigonids.
Peltasti and Hoplitai Haploi are being retrained at Athenai.
Summer of 269 BC
Unfortunately phalagite bandits have appeared on the northern slopes. They will not be bribed, thus complicating matters.
My prayers have been answered! Epeius Halikarnassios, a Euxeinos and garrison commander at Sparte, shall be betrothed to Hermine! I shall treat him as a son for now and he shall lead our armies while I am Hegemon. This way I can leave the Athenians and Spartans to their cities and not pester them with my commands... afterall I am a Rhodian and my orders are not always well considered by the mainlanders. Epeius was sent to Athenai to be better equipped and armed.
Our forces assemble just north of Athenai....
Pella is a tempting target...
I am willing to attempt an amphibious assault on Pella as their northern army is further north and nowhere to be seen, and Demetrias is a stronghold against our expansion. Should we take Pella, the Makedonians will be left with one city on the mainland. Though perhaps we should await the completion of the Athenian military complex so that the light Hoplites can be recruited...
Council of the Koinon Hellenon, speak your mind! :2thumbsup:
I ask that you list all governors and generals, so we can make sure all characters are being used, and people will know what city-state their interests should lie in. For example, if my character, Areus, is governor of Korinthos, then he would likely want Korinthos to recieve this or that. Just a suggestion.
As far as attacking Pella before Demetrias, I fear that may be a mistake. The Makedonian Navy is likely far larger than ours (the A.I doesn't disband fleets, so they probably still have their starting three). If our fleet is destroyed, our army will be stranded in Makedonia, and we'll be in danger of being squeezed between southern and northern Makedonian forces. The loss of our standing army is not something which I would like to see. I suggest the next Hegemon send a full stack into the highlands of Thessalonika, and hopefully the Makedonians will take the bait. If we can hold the high ground, we may be able to defeat numerically superior forces.
https://img49.imageshack.us/img49/56...summer5jo4.jpg
I see your thinking. Nevertheless, if we do successfully take Pella and squeeze Demetrias we may very well see a quick, decisive, and extremely risky victory against the Makedonians. It was just a thought since the opportunity is open.
It is the end of my turn fellow Greeks. I have saved Athenai and strengthened the standing army. But it is for the next Hegemon to make the Makedonians pay. And amazingly I'm still not dead yet. :laugh4:
https://img514.imageshack.us/img514/...0861781zi3.jpg
The forces of Epeiros are at peace with the Romani, perhaps they will turn their attention to Pella now. Or perhaps they are severly weakened, but if so, then it would be only on Italian soil at this point.
https://img442.imageshack.us/img442/...0402293yn1.jpg
The Skeuotheke Strateumatos at Athenai is complete!
https://img210.imageshack.us/img210/940/35171826mr8.jpg
The training of Ekdromoi Hoplitai begins, they could be instrumental in flanking enemy troops until we have good cavalry.
some words of advice... It may be wise to avoid large battles with the Makedonians, instead pick on their smaller force and always look to have the higher ground. Also, use plenty of pinning & flanking tactics to break the morale of the phalanxes. It may be wise to await till we have enough mnai to develope a better mine in Athenai, it will not take long, our economy is growing quite nicely.
I hope I have left a good country in your hands and best of luck, we shall all eagerly await your reports to the council...
And without further adue I hand the Hegemony to my successor:
http://files.filefront.com//;8397312;;/
Looks good so far, I agree though, attacking Pella may turn into a disaster. We may loose our fleet mid voyage, killing an army and general without bloodshed. Also, the army from Demetrios could take the city back quickly, and if we make moves towards Pella, the Makedon army fighting the Epriotes could come back and we'd be outnumbered in Thessaly. Perhaps we should make a joint attack, feigning an assault at Pella, diverting troops from Demetrios, then attacking Demetrios while its army is seperated. That sounds like a sound startegem to me.
On another note I will have a character soon. By the looks of it, either an Attikos or Rhodios. How old are Nicator(i think thats his name), and the younger rhodios?
I'm eager to see what will happen in the next few years.
I dont think attacking pella would be a good idea right now. However, the plan to bait the macedonians into attacking sound like a solid plan.
Nice reign, KuKulzA.
EasternScourge, you're up.
Would you please list all of the characters that are currently alive. I know we got one new general, and he needs to be given to someone. Remember, people whose general is leading the battle is supposed to fight that battle out. I vote that Akrotatos lead the attack into northern greece.
if a nice reign is one that promotes the prosperity and defense of a state then it was a nice reign :2thumbsup:
I agree Akrotatos should lead the expedition and have Epeius oversee Chalkis
I appreciate the councils confidence in my military prowess.
no big deal... your a SpartanQuote:

EDIT:
so who is EasternScourge going to be? Epeius?
If he's next in line for a character, then yes. I haven't even looked at the original list recently. Whatever order that list was is the order that people should get a character if they haven't had one. If your character dies, you go to the end of the line. I think eventually we'll have too many characters, in which case the Hegemon will play out the battles of any extra. :)
well there's:Quote:

Akrotatos Eurypontidos Lakedaimonios
Chremonides Aithalidos Attikos
Agathokles Rhodios
Epeius Halikarnassios
if I am to be sent northward to campaign against the Makedonians, then I suggest sending Epeius to chalkis to take over the government in my absence.
(also whoever is hegemon, should discuss the armies moves with me before moving my army correct? or does he move the army and i just fight the battles? it would be more realistic if not more time consuming to do though.)
As far as I know, I'm the next in the list, so i think Epeius is going to be me. Rhodos, here I come!
