I think that edits which fill half the picture with random black are going to reduce the life of this game. Small edits = the way to go

Rule: As long as this picture is the main background keep the edits in theme.
Suggestion: Show your edit as a JPG with a maximum width of 800 pixels.
Add a link to a PNG/BMP (or any other uncompressed format), of any pixel size, which is used for the next edit.
This is only just a tiny bit of extra work but will drastically reduce the download size of a page (I believe some previous pages reached 20MB).
