I know that this is my first post, but I was hoping to join the game. It looks like an unbeliveably phenomenal experience and I've been going over the stickies and other threads non-stop so hopefully I don't make too big of an ass of myself.

You've chosen an interesting time to join! For your sake, ignore the rules discussion that you'll see in various places. We're in a transition phase on some of the army rules, but it will be over soon enough. From an IC perspective, you couldn't have chosen a more interesting time!
Where would you like to start? I will spawn several avatars for you to choose from, and will teleport your selection to the settlement of your choice.
These are the new avatars available to be taken. Ibn-Khaldun has first pick, followed by Snoman13. They will be teleported to your desired starting locations after you have chosen.

Depending on how closely you followed the game so far there is the twist to the Princess husband that, his marriage is at the root of the extensive Civil War we see going on right now. So if you pick him it will definetly not become boring! :2thumbsup:

Wouldn't say likely as so much as coerced IC into doing so (you did marry the House Leaders daughter after all), although that really is up to you and Deguerra to work out.
No matter what avatar you take, your affiliation or lack thereof with any House is entirely up to you. What you do with your character is entirely up to you.Quote:

I have a question: Will this work with the german version of the game?
If not (and actually, even if it does work) does anyone know a way to change my game language?
I think that depends entirely on whether Stainless Steel 4.1 works with the german version. My instinct says that it does, but I don't have a non-English version of the game, so I don't know for sure. I think that at worst it would simply make the in-game text display in english rather than german, but that it would otherwise work properly. If you could deal with the game text being in english, you would probably be ok.Quote:

Too bad the anglophile in me purchased the original English copy of Medieval II Total War. I did however have the the German version of Rome Total War and it worked fine with the bigger mods out there. The mods were definetly in English, but I think there were some German fragments left. It didn't bother me though.
I'd love to have the original english version, but I couldn't find it anywhere here...
I just didnt want to spend the money to let it ship from the US, but the german language version sucks so much I might just stillt get the english gold edition or something...
But as for now: I installed Stainless Steel and the patch and it seems to work... HAven't installed the LOTR Mod yet though. Maybe I should get used to Stainless Steel gameplay before joining LotR ;)

Alternatively, Alerion can download the save and check to see if they are of-age himself. I checked through the save, and Ammonathas should come of age within the next ten turns (bloody memory and vodka :laugh4:), and Sophronios Komnenos and Ioannis Tagaris are all of age although IIRC, Tristan wanted Ioannis Tagaris as his next Avatar. I'll post mugshots when I can remember how...
Well looked through the save and Ioannis Tagaris would be my first choice but if he is reserved I`ll go with Sophronios.

Hello all! I saw the new game, decided to check it out. So I am considering joining, because KotR was fun (And after reading the Rules this is similar, very, coincidentally.)
I need to install Stainless Steel though; does this require Kingdoms, or is it okay just with patched M2TW? And is there any more room for me? I would love to join.
Nope, no need for Kingdoms. SS 4.1 is the last version that was released for M2TW without Kingdoms, which is why we use it. You should find all the info on installation here. We'll help you out if you have any problems.

Welcome CV, Should not be a problem you may have a choice of a family member coming of age (some have been reserved) but there are a few coming in to play or an RBG that can be recruited by TC. We just have the turn held for a player vs player scenario. Once that is completed the turn will move ahead and you can see what you can pick from in the next turn. :2thumbsup:Quote:

Sounds good. I'm not sure of the timing, but it is possible Appollonas won't have spawned by the time we get to the upcoming Senate session which is also a couple turns away. If he doesn't, you have my permission to still post and vote as him with the rank of Strator during the Senate session.
I just reached out to warluster. A couple more patches to install, and the usual reading to do to get caught up. Hopefully we'll hear more soon.
