Alexandros Syriakos have been the fastest this season. He forced his men to march faster and his army is camped next to Polyxenidos Lykikos' army. The combined forces of Timarchos Anaias Mysiakes and Attalos Pergamou Mysiakes have passed the others and are moving fast over the vast desert towards the target. Bithys Nisaias Parthiakes is almost catching up Arrhenides Gedrosianos. Parthiakes managed to borrow some horses from the locals and advanced towards Hierosolyma almost as fast as Syriakos. Gedrosianos however was not so lucky. Many of his men became ill after drinking water from an old well and thus he had to make a camp and wait till his men get better.

Moved Prodromoi unit to the fort north of Hekatompylos.
Also moved the remaining units of Syrian Army to Antiocheia. If possible, then I ask that the Chancellor would retrain them.
Sarpedon can also move Asiatikoi Hippakontistai unit from Side to his Satrapy.
Taking the save.
Chancellor Report, Autumn 269 BCE
I have ordered the construction of quite a few buildings. In Antiocheia-Margiane, the governor will be pleased to know that his house is being expanded, and for the people in Alexandreia-Ariana there will be a bigger temple to Seleukos (which, besides improving pulbic order, should bring in some more taxes). Prophthasia will be getting homes for military settlers and last, but not least, Babylon will see some improved farming in a not too distant future - something they've been bugging me about for some time. The building of roads in Side has been finished.
In other news am pleased to report that the Pontic army that entered our lands last season has now also left it, moving towards Nikaia. In other words, Antiochos' decision proved wise, and no engagement had to be made.
As it has been brought to my attention that there must be enemy spies operating within Asaak, I have begun the creation of a network of spies there to flush them out.
I, myself, has taken my Royal Army and left Sardis, and am currently besieging Pergamon. My Asiatikoi Hippakontistai are halfway to Sardis.

I'm making this brief today.
Arrhenides Gedrosianos forced his men march and in the end it payed off. They are currently in the second place. Alexandros Syriakos have advanced pretty well. He is currently in the lead. The Mysiakes duo, like the men call their Commanders, are a bit ahead of Polyxenidos Lykikos who after some wrong turns, those damn arab scouts, found the right path again and managed to be a little bit better than Bithys Parthiakes, who is just couple of miles behind Lykikos.
Added 8902 to the treasure. It is the upkeep of the Event units.
Also, I'm open for sabotage attempts for the next turn. Just send me PM where you mention who you want to sabotage. Just remember, this might come out!

Chancellor report, Winter 269 BCE
Not much Chancellor work to talk about here. Populations quiet, builders working, but no spent mnai. The world has become wiser, though, and now call us the most advanced faction in the world.
Spies were uncovered in Sidon, but unfortunately they escaped our blades. At least they're no longer there to spread unrest any more.
In other news, the garrison of Pergamon decided to sally, but were defeated by Sarpedon Syriakos, who, for the sake of public order, were forced to enslave the population. The victory came at a heavy cost though, and the Asiatikoi Hippakontistai came too late for the battle, but have finally joined the remnants of the Royal Army. A report from the battle will come tomorrow.

This seasons most interesting news is the alliance of Arrhenides Gedrosianos and Alexandros Syriakos. They have decided to head towards Hierosolyma together. However, the merger of armies took too long and they did not advanced much this season. They still are ahead of the others though. Polyxenidos Lykikos marched long. For a second it seemed that they are in lead but founding a abandoned camp site they realized they are still behind the others. The Mysiakes duo took a wrong turn and are passing the Palmyra from north. The last one is Bithys Parthiakes. The Gods have not been kind to him. They did not managed to repeat the last seasons fast movement and are the last. If he wishes to get to Palestine before the others he really needs the Favour of the Gods.

Also, Sarpedon's Royal Army needs 2 Infantry and 1 Cavalry unit to be in it's required strength.

Chancellor Report, Spring 268 BCE
A little more (non-violent) action this season than the last. New buildings in construction is a temple to Atargatis in Side, a greater governor's mansion in Ekbatana and a wooden palisade in Hekatompylos. The MIC for foreigners is also being expanded in Mazaka. In Ipsos, the construction of basic farming has completed, and the city prospers and grows once again. A new government has been successfully installed in Salamis, and a temporary military government is in place in Pergamon.
The Syrian army in Antiocheia has been retrained, as were the Peltastai and Toxotai from my own Royal Army. The rest, including myself, got improvements to their equipment.
In foreign affairs, the Pontic army that was seen moving towards Nikaia has taken a beating and retreated back into our lands. There should be no reason to fret, as they're most likely to leave our lands as quickly as they came. Pontos has also gone to war against Epeiros.
But there is some bad news too: we only held on to the title as the most advanced nation for one season! The new name on everyone's lips are now the Karthadastim.

Alexandros Syriakos and Arrhenides Gedrosianos have finally reached Syria Koile. Looks like the merger of their armies have done good for them. The Mysiakes Duo are north of Palmyra and looks like they will enter the Arche's territory again in the next season. Bithys Parthiakes' and Polyxenidos Lykikos' armies are in hearing distance. If everything goes perfectly then both of them might enter Syria Koile in the next season as well.

Destroyed the barracks in Halikarnassos since we need the money. Got 600 mnai.
Alexandreia-Ariana is in red. They might riot!
Taking the save.
Chancellor Report, Summer 268 BCE
The activity in the Arche stays on top for another season. A new government is being established in Pergamon, roads in Salamis, simple drainage in Ipsos and a temporary military government in Halikarnassos. The wooden palisade there has also been repaired.
The amount of finished buildings are perhaps even greater. The farmlands in Babylon have finished, and the populace there can quite literally reap the rewards now. Homes for our military settlers have also finished in Propthasia, which should improve the public order there. The governors house in Antiocheia-Margiane is finished, as is the small temple of Seleukos in Alexandreia-Ariana, which has once again put the inhabitants there at ease. There will be no rebellion there. Hekatompylos now has a wooden palisade to protect it from raids or worse and the sacred enclosure of Atargatidos is finished in Side. Last but not least, Sidon now has a government established, and the military government of Halikarnassos is in place.
In order to keep the peace in Halikarnassos, I had to go there myself, which necessitated lower taxes in Pergamon. To make up for it, I increased taxes in Salamis. However, I only did this out of necessity and as a temporary thing, so I would not have Theodotas Pisidikes just take off and leave me to deal with it! I would have a garrison in place first. Also, though you may have had good intentions, I would remind you that you do NOT have the authority to change the taxes. That is for me to do, or for any satrap that the settlement in question belongs to.
In other news, the Pontic army hasn't moved at all over the season. I still don't feel any need for fear, but keeping it in the back of our heads might be a good thing.

After last seasons good progress Arrhenides Gedrosianos and Alexandros Syriakos were confident that no one could catch them. They made only a modest progress in this season and their arrogance payd them back. Soon they noticed a dust cloud behind them and found out that Polyxenidos Lykikos had forced his men and they also managed to reach Syria Koile. To make things worse, news came from south that Bithys Parthiakes also arrived to the province and are actually the closest army to Hierosolyma. Also the news that the Mysiakes Duo is getting closer from north did not make Gedrosianos and Syriakos any happier.

Chancellor Report, Autumn 268 BCE
Buildings
Started the installation of a new government in Halikarnassos.
As the populace in Asaak seem to be unhappy, they'll get a city-state festival to keep them from rioting. The same goes for the city and populace of Prophtasia.
Side will be getting some basic farming, while Ipsos will be getting hidden stone sewers. The increased population growth that the health improvements will give us is highly needed in the area, since there's lots of retraining being done, and still to be done as is.
The MIC for foreign natives in Mazaka has been finished. New soldiers are willing and able to fight for us now. In Salamis, roads have been finished as well.
Taxes
Lowered taxes in Asaak.
Raised taxes in Antiocheia-Mergiane.
MilitaryTwo RGBs and a unit of akontistai, as ordered by Antiochos, has been raised in Antiocheia. Yet another unit of akontistai is on it's way.
Two units of pantodapoi phalangitai and a unit of thureophoroi from my own Royal Army has been retrained in Ipsos.
A unit of Persian archers have been raised in Asaak.

Alexandros Syriakos and Arrhenides Gedrosianos should force their men harder since Attalos Mysiakes and Timarchos Mysiakes are almost in front of them. Unfortunately not all are so lucky. Bithys Parthiakes and Polyxenidos Lykikos are falling behind. Although they combined their armies no one expected Lykikos to catch the cold and he is now in sick bed.
OOC: TCV, please add the upkeep of the units, 8902 mnai, to the reasure.

Moved the Parthian Army towards Zadrakata.
Also moved the Thureophoroi unit towards Ipsos because of the Ptolemaioi diplomat hanging around there.

Chancellor Report, Winter 268 BCE
Buildings
The east will see even more city-state festivals as the preparations for those has begun in Alexandreia-Ariana as well as Antiocheia-Margiane.
In honour of the Syrian god, Atargatidos, the construction of a larger shrine to her is being constructed in Sidon.
Otherwise, the only finished building this season was the small temple of Artemis in Sardis.
Taxes
Halikarnassos as well as Asaak had their taxes raised, while Ipsos and Sardis saw some lower ones, a decision that was made because the area desperately needs a boost in population. The retraining of my RA as well as the 1st Lydian Army is costly in terms of men.
Military
A unit of caucasian archers has been trained in Mazaka for my own Royal Army. They will be replacing my band of persian archers.
Two units of akontistai have been trained, one in Sardis for the garrison of Halikarnassos and one in Antiocheia for the garrison of Sidon.
Foreign affairs
Trading has been established with the Gauls known as the Aedui.
SPQR, our allies, were kind enough to donate 4379 mnai as a token of their admiration of our valour and courage. No doubt this is also in recognition that we are the most advanced faction on Earth!
However, the Pontic army still stays put, and on top of that a new, smaller Pontic army has been sighted a stonesthrow from Mazaka.
Misc.
Persepolis has grown and the governors mansion there must be improved. Where is satrap Andromachos Syriakos?

Attalos Mysiakes and Timarchos Mysiakes had a good start they managed to get ahead of Alexandros and Arrhenides. However soon they noticed that the road they had taken did not lead them closer to Hierosolyma but instead further east, away from it. Quick investigation showed that someone's devious hand had changed the sign on the crossroads a way back. Who was behind it remains a secret. Alexandros Syriakos and Arrhenides Gedrosianos managed to get to the striking distance from Hierosolyma and camped near a bridge north-east of the city. Polyxenidos Lykikos and Bithys Parthiakes forced their armies to march harder and managed to catch the Mysiakes Duo. All of the liberators are finally near Hierosolyma.

Buildings
A few more buildings were started this season. Sardis, Salamis, Arbela and Mazaka all got simple drainages, while Zadrakata and Karkathiokerta both got plans for city-state festivals. In Babylon, a game field is being constructed, as well as a temple of Mithras in Hekatompylos and a wooden palisade in Gabai.
Further than the simple drainages who only took a couple of months to build, I do know that the preparations for few city-state festivals should have been finished, but I cannot tell where exactly, or if any more buildings may have been finished. This is because the reports were somehow lost.

There is not much to say. Alexandros Syriakes and Arrhenides Gedrosianos' stack was attacked by a large Ptolemaic army. Judging that they could not win the fight, or at least not without too great casualties, they decided to retreat, and the Ptolemaic force now holds the bridge.

For some unknown reason Polyxenidos Lykikos decided to leave the cause and he rode away from the Army. He headed to Damaskos at the moment so later to head back to Babylon. Babylonian Infantry and Median Cavalry units, who joined only because of Lykikos, decided to go home as well. Seeing no point of getting dead the Toxotai unit left as well. Only the Iudaioi units stayed with Bithys Parthiakes. Although there was a lot of confusion Parthiakes managed to get over the bridge and he and his army near the city. Alexandros Syriakos and Arrhenides Gedrosianos took the bridge position again. They almost would have besieged the city as well but they heard that someone have already done it. The army that had besieged Hierosolyma belonged to Attalos Mysiakes and Timarchos Mysiakes. If everything will go as it is planned then they are ready to attack the town in the next season!

Chancellor Report, Summer 267 BCE
Buildings
Too low funds to do much spending on buildings this season, however at least Sidon will see an improved temple to Atargatis.
On the other hand, many buildings have been completed this season. The improvements to the governor's mansion in Ekbatana, the wooden palisade in Gabai, the city-state festivals in Alexandreia-Ariana and Antiocheia-Mergiane, the hidden stone sewers in Ipsos and basic farming in Side.
Taxes
Taxes has been raised in Sardis and Sidon.
Military
The Lydian Army as well as the parts from the Basileus' Royal Army in Antiocheia has been retrained. The Lydian Army's peltastai has been disbanded and replaced by a unit of toxotai.
Foreign affairs
We are no longer the most advanced faction, as the SPQR has taken that place.
Also, there are some changes in the diplomatic stage. Our allies the SPQR are now at war with the Karthadastim, and more importantly for us, Pontos has signed a peace treaty with the Ptolemaioi while their armies still remain in our lands. Perhaps we have real reasons to question their motives now?

While moving west Bithys Parthiakes saw a man riding away. Although his horsemen were not able to catch the man it was clear that he is a Ptolemaioi spy. In the Timarchos Mysiakes' camp another strange thing occurred. His swordbearer saw a man near the rams. While moving towards him he recognized a man from the Arrhenides Gedrosianos' army. The saboteur managed to get away but he didn't finish the job. The rams were fixed fast and the Mysiakes' army can attack the city when ever they want! Chancellor Report, Autumn 267 BCE
Buildings
In response to the rising levels of rebels, I have decided to raise more homes for military settlers, this time in Antiocheia-Margiane and Ekbatana. These will be finished in a year. In Ipsos the construction of a granary will be raised to assure an easier and a safer survival over the winter periods, as well as other tougher times - another of my actions to improve the population growth in Mikra Asia. Back in the north-east, Prophtasia's populace is unhappy with our rule, so they will be getting a temple to Apollo - religion is, after all, a good tool to keep the people quiet. Moreover, Side will be getting a city-state festival.
The only finished constructions this season was the city-state festival in Zadrakata, as well as the establishment of a government in Pergamon.
Taxes
Lowered taxes in Halikarnassos to keep the order there.
Military
Raised a unit of akontistai in Sardis for the garrison of Halikarnassos to allow my own exit from the city.
